Mission:
Mission 19: Taking out the Garbage
Location: Various Locations - USS Roanoke
Timeline: 0900Hrs - December 24th, 2390
Lt Commander Siaxx Dvald was not a happy little Bolian as she stalked down the hallway towards her destination, she held a PADD in her hands as she stopped at the Chief Counselors office as she tapped the door-chime.
"Enter," the counselor said as she typed on her terminal.
Siaxx growled. "You think Phoenix is insane... i will show you insane.." as she placed her PADD on the desk. "You're not the only one who's certified as a therapist.." before she slid the PADD down to Tressa. "I'm going to give her back her wings... I'm also overruling you on the matter."
Tressa never looked up from her terminal. "I know, Doctor," she said impassively.
"No... you really don't" Siaxx commented. "She comes home, miserable and crying her eyes out because you two talked... Commander Teval signed the order before I could to restore Phoenix to full status."
The counselor continued to type without looking up. "I take it you read my report, thank you for your objectivity."
Siaxx growled. "You don't even give a shit .... do you?" the small Bolian was close to losing her composure, if the look in her eyes was any indication. "Oh I read your report... you think she's fucking crazy... a write off, a lost cause.... How can you sit there and tell me you give a shit when you wanna send her to the Federation Funny Farm.."
"Crazy, is that a clinical term?" Tressa asked with a smile. "I believe my report's summation cited... let's see..."
"The patient has a history of violent manic episodes and displays genocidal and racist behaviors such as were common four hundred years ago. She has historically engaged in self-destructive addictions which she has recently worked to overcome. However, it is my professional opinion that the patient is not capable of making rational decisions where her past history with the Cardassians are concerned. Such situations trigger her deep-seated stress disorder and will invariably result in violence."
"I do not want her sent away anywhere, Siaxx. I just want her to learn there are other ways to express herself besides punching."
"You should see the picture she painted while we were planetside. You also forget that she's looking after a puppy thats not been weened from its mother and then there is Shonax." she listed then off one at a time. "She's teaching me how to paint..."
"Phoenix is not a monster, Siaxx, she is compassionate, loving, and warm. She needs help and therapy to learn to be free of her past," Tressa said.
"She's watched friends, loved ones, her fucking twin for fuck sakes get murdered, butchered like animals in front of her by Spoonheads under a flag of fucking truce." Siaxx commented. "She's not the only one who despises them.... I hate them too... I want to watch the fucking lot of them burn... screaming for mercy and I wouldn't even piss on their fucking graves for the misery and shit they've caused us... caused me"
"I know what she has been through, she is a prisoner of her past when she can be so much more..."
Then why are you fucking with me!" Siaxx finally screamed at the top of her lungs.
"HOW DARE YOU?!?" Tressa shouted, jumping to her feet. "How DARE you hold her back when she can be free? This isn't ABOUT you!" She glared at the Bolian. "You are a doctor, responsible for the preservation of life and an officer of the Federation, and you would perpetuate xenophobia and violence? YOU are the monster!"
Siaxx snarled. "Do not fucking blame me for her problems..." the smaller Bolian woman responded. "Yeah... I am a Monster.... fucking deal with it.." she growled angrily. "Fuck your peace, love and understanding!... the only way to deal with the neighborhood bully is to break his face... not coddle him and tell him its alright to continue being a fucking asshole.." she growled. "So fuck you!" she snarled, now truly enraged.
"Get out of my office."
Siaxx growled. "Are all humans like you... don't like the darkness that's out here.. do you?" she smiled. "Maybe you should go home... and crawl under your bed.. its not safe out here and bad shit does happen to people..... either you learn to accept this as fact... or you're just too comfortable at the top of your ivory tower, looking down on all of us aliens..." and with that she turned and walked out the door, not before adding one final insult. "Stupid Terran Pig."
Teval watched as Siaxx stormed out of Tressa's office, having heard a good bit of the louder part of the argument. He was holding a padd, detailing a number of cases that needed to be reviewed by counseling. "That was loud," Teval said to Siaxx.
"Yeah..." Siaxx felt enraged and heartbroken at the same time. "What can I do for you?" she regarded Teval.
"Nothing really, I was just about to tell Tressa about the various nutcases on the ship that needed an eval, like the fat boys the Bremers." He noticed Siaxx's rage, then added," Don't worry, you are not on the list."
"She's right in there..." Siaxx indicated the door she just came out of. "I recommend you knock before going on.. she might throw something at you, thinking you're me.."
Teval rolled his eyes,"Great," He decided not to press further with Siaxx and went up to the door and hit the door chime.
Siaxx turned and walked off slowly down the hallway, her body language spoke her pain to all who could hear it.
"Enter."
Teval tentatively opened the door, half expecting something to go flying, but when it never came, he walked in holding the padd, saying, "Yeah I've got some cases that need to be reviewed."
Tressa took a deep breath and exhaled slowly, then looked up. "Certainly, Commander. Are these current patients with Counseling? New patients are usually referred by Medical," she said as she extended her hand for the PADD. Her voice was chipper but her eyes were weary.
Teval rolled his eyes," Yeah with the regular amount of barfights that happen on this ship, medical staff is constantly kept busy. Plus some of this information involves highly confidential information, due to the fact that two of the people on this list are suspects in a double murder. So you or one of your staff needs to evaluate these people, on top of several others. I do warn you though, you are going to be dealing with several people that will make Phoenix look like a cakewalk in comparison."
The counselor shook her head in disbelief. Phoenix, how did you become the barometer of emotional instability? she thought sadly. Again she gathered herself together and faced the Commander.
"Thank you Commander Teval, my staff and I will look over the file and confer with Medical for treatment. Is there anything else I can do for you today?"
"Not really," Teval replied, "but do be aware, that the various department heads will be also filling out reports on the people that need counseling, so expect to get a lot more cases very soon. And keep in mind, with a lot of these people, these evaluations will depend upon whether they stay in starfleet or not. And keep in mind, a lot of these guys are going to be deadbeats, dont hesitate to give them a bad eval so we can get rid of them." Without saying anything else, Teval then left the room.
Tressa put the PADD on her desk and sat back down.
"Damn I need a vacation."
