Mission 103: The Rumblings of Discontent
Location: Various Locations - USS Solemn Penance / USS Manticore / USS Rawalpindi and USS Ulysses
Timeline: 1245Hrs - August 27th, 2393
Captain Brevik emerged from the crawlspace tube as he found himself facing four security officers, all were armed with rifles, he stopped as there were four sudden clicks as the rifles were armed and turned on their commanding officer but the four troopers in question. "Gentlemen... Can we discuss this before we do something we all might regret...?" Brevik asked.
"Captain..." the leader said in a quiet tone of voice. "We... we didn't know... What he was going to do..."
"Nor did I," Brevik answered quietly. "Starfleet will come to retake their ship... The question is, will you face them and loose and do the right thing and help me retake our ship..." as he regarded the four men in silence, Ironmhide waited in silence with Jes-Tereth beside him with Warlock bringing up the rear, they could hear that Brevik was chatting with someone or someones so they opted to wait in silence.
"We... We thought we were doing the right thing, sir, following orders... I believed him, sir... That you were planning on doing something stupid..." the second security officer said as he shook his head, before lowering his rifle. "I don't deserve to wear this uniform..."
Brevik shook his head. "Mutinies are always tricky things to deal with and this will be dealt with. Shkreli is going away to a black rock with no name for the rest of time... We all know this... But if you help me, I'll help you." he said quietly. "Or you can re-arrest me and take me to wherever you will."
The four men turned to each other, sharing a look with each other and a moment. They nodded. "Lead on skipper. We're still starfleet personel." as the leader drew his sidearm and offered it to Brevik. "Let's end this farce."
Brevik accepted the sidearm gently. "Thank you." as he tapped the crawlspace cover twice. It opened and out came Ironhide, the security trooper closet to him gently helped him to his feet, same with Jes-Tereth and Warlock. "Ironhide, its good to see you."
"You too Mike." he paused. "Are you arresting us?"
"Fuck no Ironhide, you still owe me ten credits." the man smiled before he turned to Brevik. "Sorry, sir."
"Quite all right gents but we need to rescue our crew from the hanger spaces," Brevik explained before there was a loud booming sound which echoed through the ship's hull. "What was that?" Brevik inquired.
"We're under attack." the third security guard commented evenly, he had his tricorder out. "I'm reading four Federation ships attacking us."
"Then we don't have much time, we need to move," Brevik commented.
Ironhide nodded as the small group began moving down the hallway. The hallways were empty of any signs of life which gave the entire ship a rather eerie feeling. Ironhide turned to Brevik. "Sir, we should spit-up, I'll take Jes-Tereth and two of these guys with me, we'll still be able to hit two of the three large hangers," he explained evenly.
"What about us?" came a voice from around a corner as Major Baart DeCrescents and Lt Commander Lindsey Watseka appeared, both armed with rifles. DeCrescents smiled. "Hey guys, are we late?"
Brevik smiled. "Your right on time." he regarded the two new arrivals. "Could you bust open the maintenance area, see if any of the crew are hiding there, also check the armored citadel and make sure the civvies are safe..."
"Yeah, consider it handled skipper." DeCrescents answered evenly as they all proceeded along the paths to their various destinations.
Meanwhile on the bridge of the USS Solemn Pennance. The traitor who would be king lounged in the command chair. "Where are we with the repairs?" he growled at his first officer. who was presently lying on her back, under a console while the battle was raging outside. "I need another twenty minutes to reroute the power so I can get warp drive back..." she snapped back at him.
"Oh I tire of your excuses..." and with that, he drew his sidearm and promptly shot her with it, it was set to stun. "Mister Alvarado, remove her please, take her to the brig. I will deal with her insolence later..." he turned to his appointed second officer. "You are promoted to Executive officer. You know what needs to be done so please, proceed."
Ensign Miranda Thompson smiled, she had been appointed to the rank of Commander. She nodded. "It will be done sir." as she turned to her left. "Colonel Ortega, I need you for this. Help me please?"
The other woman nodded as she got up from the panel that she was using to monitor the battle, she went over to the commander and took her new tasks without complaint or protest. She went to work doing the same as Commander Thompson sat down in the Executive officer's chair. "Sir, our sensors just went haywire."
"How so?," Shkreli growled.
"I can't see anything... we're being jammed... I... I think..." Murial Nichols answered, he was rather new to his post as he was a warrant officer rather than a proper officer so he was untrained for the task he was doing.
"Fire phasers at full in all directions," Skherli answered. "We may yet drive them off, doing that," he added. "Status of warp engines?"
"Not for another fifteen minutes." came the answer from Petty Officer 3rd Class David Myers, he had been appointed to the rank of Commander and the posting of Chief Engineer, he was busy working at his panel at the back of the bridge. "This ship needs to see the inside of a major shipyard. Especially when this battle ends..." he commented in a flat tone of voice.
Suddenly Petty Officer 2nd Class Sharon Peters, she had been appointed the rank of Lt Commander and the posting of Chief of Security proceeded to speak up. "I've lost contact with security team three," she explained. "Almost a quarter of my manpower is gone sir," she added.
"Ironhide," Shkreli growled, real menace in his tone, he glared as he snarled at Peters. "Find him and bring him to me. I do not care if you need to destroy this ship in the process..."
