Its Christmas on Vanguard - Part Nine

Posted on Tue Dec 27th, 2022 @ 2:06pm by Lieutenant Commander Ouros Yamaguchi & Lieutenant Commander Elizabeth Yamaguchi-Solusar & Lieutenant Morg "Morgan" Wolfsong & Post Captain Heris Dvald

Mission: Mission 118: The Christmas from Hell
Location: Various Locations - Starbase Vanguard
Timeline: 1845Hrs - December 24th, 2393

The doors opened before her and Captain Heris Dvald came back to the party, wearing a simple but elegant cocktail dress that she had been wanting to wear now for months. Dvald looked around as the party was in full swing. Hot on her heels was Ouros Yamaguchi, wearing a simple black dress that started halfway down her thighs and had spaghetti straps. Her back was visible and so were her arms and shoulders.

Yamaguchi looked around as she tried to recognize anyone at the party. But she had been invited by her twin two weeks ago. Ouros had been able to get a two-day pass for the event, as she had never taken any time off since she had joined these universes Starfleet marines, almost two years ago.

Ouros could identify anyone but she knew who this older woman was in front of her. Dvald turned to face her but she smiled. "Hey Be=" she stopped herself in midsentence. "Wait, your not Beth," she added after a moment.

"No ma'am," Yamaguchi answered automatically. "My twin is present at this venue."

"Ahhh," Dvald answered. "I'm Heris Dvald. It's nice to meet you at last," she commented as she extended her hand on the Bolian salute. It was her native custom of extending her hand, palm down with all five fingers spread out. Yamaguchi returned the salute with one of her own. "I'm Ouros."

"You look lovely Ouros," Dvald answered with a gentle smile. "I confess, I had never expected to ever meet you."

"I normally don't go to these kinds of events. I'd rather spend my evening at home, with a book or soaking in a long, hot bath." Yamaguchi explained with a nod of her head. "I let those who can appreciate these events, enjoy them."

Dvald paused as she looked crestfallen. "I'm sorry. I.." the Bolian female ran out of steam with her response.

"Don't be Heris." Yamaguchi smiled. "It's the life I chose. I choose to sacrifice so others don't need to do so," she commented. "Besides. I've never been good at these events. I usually end up admiring a potted plant in the corner somewhere." she then shrugged her shoulders, as if to say it did not matter with her. Because in her eyes, the issue was a moot one and not work addressing.

Dvald shook her head. "So then I have to ask... Why are you here then?" she asked, more out of curiosity than out of malice.

"I'm here because Elizabeth asked me to come. I told her I'd consider it and I wish to surprise her." Yamaguchi then smiled. "I wasn't sure if I underdressed for the occasion or not. I'm almost never seen in a dress," she added, the look on her face said that she was confessing a deep, dark secret.

"Oh. Well. I will keep that to myself." Dvald smiled at the other woman. "Still. It's good to see that you came." The Bolian explained with a gentle smile. "The demands of family can be tiresome and a burden but they are family to us, as we are to them." the Bolian explained. "The bar is over there. Why don't you get something to eat. I can hear your stomach growling at me. Unless you brought a family pet with you." Dvald then smiled at the taller woman, mostly to remove the sting from her sentence.

Yamaguchi smiled down at the smaller female. "Thank you Heris. It was good to meet you." as with that, the two women parted company. Yamaguchi made her way over to the bar when she felt someone gently tug on her left arm before they spun her around. Yamaguchi found herself looking into the eyes of the only man she had ever truly been intimate with in this universe. "Morg." Yamaguchi regarded him as she addressed him, her tone was soft and gentle. She did not need to provoke him.

Lieutenant Morg Wolfsong regarded the woman before him. He had not been a hundred percent sure if this was indeed Ouros or her more famous twin. But he recognized her lines and angles. This woman was lean and all muscle whereas Elizabeth had been overweight and pregnant not that long ago. He had encountered Elizabeth in the gym several times over the course of the last month and she had been rocking a strength-toning workout. Wolfsong knew that this woman was anything but weak, both in terms of mental strength and physical strength.

Yamaguchi regarded him as she stood before him. "It's... been a while," she commented. The line sounded utterly stupid coming from her. Yamaguchi sighed as she could desperately come up with a better line than outright saying how stupid she had been with him all those months ago. But she had no time and she had no way to counter all of the hurt she had caused him all those months ago. Now she had no idea of what to say or what to do. It showed too with the look on her face.
