Rota's Comeuppance

Mission: Mission 96: Settling Accounts
Location: Various Locations - Starbase 12
Timeline: September 10th 2392

"Is there any place you want to go specifically," Teval asked Siaxx as the two walked down the starbase Promenade.

"I was thinking of pizza for the last few days," Dvald answered. "I promised myself something large and very large meal, now that I am free of that guy. I will indulge myself." she paused. "I will not ask you to pay for my meal."

Teval shrugged. "Well if you insist." He then tapped his combadge, calling Karryn and their combined ten children, though most of them being adopted. He then asked. "So do you want me to call Elizabeth too so she can bring your son."

Siaxx brightened instantly. "I'd like that," she answered. "I never got my combadge back." she paused while she walked. "Rota has much to answer for," she commented as they reached the starbase plaza, instantly finding a large pizza joint.

Siaxx indicated the place. "This looks good," she commented.

Teval found a large empty seating area, enough to accommodate all the people that were coming, and soon enough, Karryn came with their ten kids, followed shortly by Elizabeth, carrying a Bolian infant.

Elizabeth Yamaguchi came over, wearing her duty uniform which didn't hide that she was pregnant. "Hey guys." she greeted the gathering. "Siaxx." she smiled as she handed the Bolian infant off to his mother. "I think he missed you."

Siaxx smiled as she gently held her infant close to her, he reacted by waving his arms about as he made a fuss over what was going on. "Shall we eat guys?" she inquired of the gathering. Elizabeth sat down in a chair before she gently pulled Siaxx onto her lap. "I don't think Phoenix would mind." the large female commented. "Besides, you need some tender loving care."

Siaxx did not protest as she simply relaxed. "I don't mind. What about your husband?" the small Bolian female inquired.

"Siaxx, we're just going to eat a meal together, not have sex." Elizabeth giggled softly. The massive female sighed. "It'll be okay."

The small Bolian paused. "Force of habit."

Teval made his orders for both himself, Karryn and the rest of the rather extensive family, all while Nuyari insisted on cuddling with him.

Siaxx smiled as she ordered a large Brooklyn style pizza with two liters of coka-cola with ice, with two sides of cheesy bread and six servings of marinara sauce. Elizabeth nodded. "I'll have that too, please. That sounds good." as she took a moment to move off of Elizabeth's lap as she didn't feel comfortable but she settled into the booth next to Elizabeth.

Siaxx paused. "I have no idea you liked pizza." as she regarded her friends eldest child who was having children herself.

"Aww Siaxx, you have been so poorly neglected. You now have a standing invitation to come dine with Kam and me whenever you wish."
Yamaguchi commented. "I can always ask Kameron to make you a pizza of your choice."

"Really?. I do not wish to impose." Siaxx answered.

Elizabeth raised an eyebrow. "Okay, Consider yourself kidnapped every Friday night for the rest of time, there is no relief, there is no escape and there is no getting out of it. Bring your son, I'll look after him and give you a break so you can stuff your face and I'll babysit for you." the massive woman explained. "and no. I will not take no for an answer."

"Well, when you put it like that. I can see you and me having a lot of fun." the small Bolian explained. "Having a break sounds nice too."

"See Siaxx, that's the spirit," Elizabeth responded. "You just need to develop a sense of humor. You have the same issue that Tienn Iteela did. Except she was drugged and shattered my knee. She still thinks she owes me a penance for that. You however still have a chance to change course before something really goes wrong."

Siaxx regarded Elizabeth in silence for a moment as she processed what she was being told. "Did you ever consider that... I lost my way?" Siaxx admitted in a soft tone.

"I did actually," Elizabeth answered. "We all lose our way from time to time but it's when and how we ask for help from those around us that we can find our path again. Personally. I think you have a gift for being a Doctor. You loved it. You were the one who delivered Rachael, Gabe's children, and Saki. You are the one constant in my family yet you lost your way Siaxx."

"I'm not sure who I am anymore," Siaxx admitted before she began fussing over her son.

"Well. I am not or was I ever in doubt as to who or what you were. Teval over there also never questioned it." Elizabeth explained. "You are Siaxx Dvald and you are my friend."

Siaxx sighed softly. "I need some time to figure out who I am. I need to stop getting caught up in other people's shit. I'm tired Elizabeth." she explained.

"I can understand. You've been through a lot since coming aboard the Roanoke."

"No. My shit started long before that. I was commanding my own ship and it started with that bar brawl that saw your mom get demoted. Same with Tom Lasky otherwise he'd be a full Captain and he'd be commanding his own battleship or fleet carrier by now." Dvald explained. "I know Lasky is pissed off sitting around playing second fiddle to everyone else. I know your mom is pissed off too."

The universe could be broken down into moments of transition, to be born and moments of revelation, to be witnessed. The look on Elizabeth Yamaguchi's face indicated that she had just experienced such a revelation. "I.. I didn't know."

"Tom Lasky didn't tell anyone about how he felt. Mostly because he didn't want people to know how pissed off he was with Starfleet." Dvald explained. "I know your mom was feeling the same way and her time on the Roanoke only soured her on Starfleet further."

"Yeah, she had to deal with all of Zara Tane's self-destructive behavior." Yamaguchi sighed, suddenly feeling that she has lost her appetite. "I'm not hungry."

Dvald noticed as she gently held her infant son in her arms as he fussed quietly. Siaxx simply shrugged as she knew she needed to eat so she could produce milk for her son.

A moment later their dinner orders arrived as Elizabeth smiled. "Thanks, guys. These look great." she broke off a chunk of cheesy bread before she went to eat her dinner. Siaxx gently placed her son on the bassinet that Elizabeth had brought with her before she too, began to eat. Dvald inhaled the scent of the food as a wide smile appeared on her face.

"You look like you're enjoying yourself."

"Oh yes. I've been looking forward to this for four days, Rota didn't feed us."

"What?" Elizabeth responded quietly. "Wait... you were not fed for four days?." the larger female regarded Siaxx. "Siaxx, why didn't you tell me this sooner!?" The massive female's face darkened in anger.

"Because enough people are angered by recent events. Enough people will handle it and enough people will settle this issue with him and with me." the small Bolian explained. "I did not go gently into that good night without a decent meal. Rage rage rage against the dying of the light Elizabeth. I knew my time would come and thus, it has. I intend to sit here and enjoy this meal, the company of those gathered here and my son. I do not intend to get involved in Mister Rota's long overdue punishment for his misdeeds." Siaxx then smiled.

"That's deep Siaxx," Elizabeth commented.

"Yes, well. I have a lot of other things to do than getting angry over his treatment of me, others will handle it so I intend to let them." Dvald shrugged. "Besides. The protocol is clear as is my response." and with that, she turned back to Teval. "Right?" she inquired of him before she went back to her food.

Teval sat and listened, before choosing his words carefully, "Well do remember one thing, Siaxx. Your not alone in this universe, try to remember that you do have friends around whom can help you get through problems."

"I will," Siaxx answered quietly before she let out a soft sigh. "Anger and rage are easy. I do it so often that its almost second nature now. I need to work on it." the small Bolian admitted.

"Yeah, you do," Teval replied, "Don't worry about Rota, I'll deal with him."

Dvald regarded him in silence for a moment. "Alright. I want no part of him anyway." the small female Bolian responded in a light tone of voice.

Elizabeth regarded her companion. "So. What will you do now?"

"I'm going to enjoy this meal." Siaxx responded. "and the companionship. You and I can go down to sickbay later and process the paperwork."

About half an hour later, Teval showed up in Franklin Armstrong's office, ready to deal with the issue that was Rota.

The man within had just been newly promoted to the rank of Rear Admiral, he was sitting behind his desk as he had his jacket off and he was taking a moment while looking out at the stars behind his desk. The break was interrupted by his aide who had said that a Captain Teval Vakar sought an audience with him.

"Send him in," Armstrong responded in a flat tone.

Moments later, Armstrong turned to face Teval. "Teval. I've heard so much about you. Getting April on the subject is easy but getting her to shut up is a major accomplishment. She has a special place in her heart for you and your little group." he explained. "So, what may I be doing for you on this rather dull day.?" Armstrong inquired, a wide smile on his face.
