Elathian Jii smiled. "Shields to full, stand by all weapons. Helm.. take us in nice and slowly," he commented. "Science, record everything."
on the other side of the wormhole was a single cruiser grade vessel, which was a hybrid of various different ships. Though the ship had mostly Romulan components, it carried pieces and parts from Klingon, Federation, and Cardassian vessels as well. Almost as soon as it realized ships were coming through the wormhole, it opened fire on the first vessel through.
Elathian Jii watched the ship as it opened fire upon his ship. "Open fire, try to disable if you can," he commented.
The tactical officer nodded his head. "Shooting to disable. Aye skipper." as the Pillar of Autumn let loose with several phaser blasts with smashed into the enemy ships shields.
"Get me a full scan," Elathian ordered. "I want to see everything within range."
"Aye sir." the female at the science station responded as she went to work.
The enemy ship stood little chance against the Pillar of Autumn. Once it realized this it tried to run away, however, it didn't get very far as a well-placed phaser blast knocked out its rather fragile power distribution system, leaving the vessel helpless.
Captain Elathian narrowed his eyes. "That was almost too easy." he paused. "Damage report?"
"Mostly minor damage to the shields, the hull is intact as is the rest of the ship." came the half expected response.
"Alright," Elathian responded. "Anything special about that ship over there?"
Lieutenant Elena Aries turned her head. "Mostly it's a hodgepodge of Federation, Klingon, and Romulan technology skipper. it's extremely fragile and I'm not reading any lifesigns aboard... But I am reading three Federation com signatures nearby. Two are on that derelict station and the last is on what looks like a class alpha cargo container."
Elathian paused. "Federation. Why would Federation com signatures be here?. Could they be from the Pinto?" he paused. "Hail the Washaibo."
"Kasana here," The kurokuri captain announced as soon as the comm signal opened.
"Can you see any lifesigns on the large objects nearby?" Elathian responded. "My ship is set up more for combat than science."
"Not really," Kasana admitted, "But then again, our sensors are tuned to detect ships, radiation, and objects in space, our sensors aren't really set up for detecting life forms so much."
Elathian nodded his head, processing the news. "Fair enough. I will wait for the Warsaw then," he explained. "Steady as she goes helm."
"Aye skipper." came the response from the officer at conn.
The Pillar of Autumn moved slowly away from the portal and over towards the ruined base as the USS Warsaw appeared, she began scanning with her powerful sensor arrays, quickly scanning the base and all the ruined pieces of debris located nearby.
Elathian Jii raised regarded the ruined station on the screen as the hail from the Warsaw came in. "Captain. we're detecting three Federation comm signatures, they are definitely ours."
"Wait. What?" Elathian commented. "Ask the Akurians if they can do any long distance scans to see if they can locate the USS Pinto.?"
Kasana had her ship did a long range scan, however, they didn't find any Federation ships. "No, No Federation ships on our scans."
Elathian nodded his head. "Sounds good. Alright, number one, prepare three away teams and go retrieve those Federation com signatures." he paused as his first officer nodded. "Lieutenant Komal." Naomi Hodges addressed the dark skinned Deltan female at security. "Have nine security officers meet me in transporter room two," she commented
Komal nodded her head. "Yessir," she responded, her dusky accent coming out as she spoke. "They are on their way," she added.
Commander Naomi Hodges smiled as she departed the bridge. She was in her destination moments later as two marines appeared. "Alright, four of you will beam to each location, two security and a marine will come with me to the third location. Keep your eyes peeled down there, we go in, grab our guys if they are alive and then get back here. No heroics." Hodges explained. "Questions?"
"No sir." came the response.
"Alright. team one, you are up. energize when ready chief." Hodges explained as she watched her first four guys step up onto the platform. They were beamed down to the base and the second team repeated the process, the third team with Hodges in charge was beamed down last.
Hodges moved forward as she noticed only ruins around her. "Scan for booby traps," she commented. "Keep alert," she added. "I'm reading one lifesign ahead."
"No traps sir." came the response from her point man.
"Move out slowly, do not touch anything. I have a weird feeling about this place." Hodges commented quietly. A few minutes went by as she located the survivor. "I'm from the USS Pillar of Autumn, we're here to recover you," Hodges called as soon as she entered the room.
Alurian Del was far too disoriented to even recognize what was going on. He tried to stumble to his feet but failed.
The two security officers moved speedily to his side as Hodges tapped her combadge. "Hodges to Autumn?" she spoke, using the nickname for the Pillar of Autumn.
Elathian Jii's voice came back. "Autumn here. go ahead Naomi.?"
"I have recovered one survivor. Medical emergency, beam my team to sickbay."
"Stand by for transport." came the response before Naomi Hodges, her team and Alurian Del were beamed away, in the Pillar of Autumn's sick bay. Commander Winn Enshon was busy tending to Ensign Show who looked malnourished as another medic was tending to Khatarr who looked more or less to be in the same boat.
Hodges watched as the security personnel moved the human-looking male over to the nearby sickbay biobed as another few medics moved over to tend to him.
Winn Enshon nodded to Naomi Hodges. "Nice timing. Had we gotten here another day or so later, these two at least would have died."
"Lovely," Hodges responded lightly. "Thanks for letting me know." she paused a moment. "Keep me informed as to their status, I'll be on the bridge okay?"
