This system is a Mess - Part One

Mission: Mission 90: Revisiting a Supernova
Location: HD-385784-2395
Timeline: June 1st, 2392

Washaibo's dropped out of FTL in the shattered remnants of the HD-385784-2395 system, followed by Tvashtar, Two Akurian destroyers, and two Federation starships. Once they were ready, Washaibo's powered up her two immensely powerful RSA-C 4809-8200 Sensor Arrays, and immediately, Kasana got a clear indication of what was going on in the system.

Rachael Yamaguchi regarded the sensor display. "Oh, my. The man who did this was a lunatic," she commented.

The haul came in seconds later. "This is the Tvashtar. The Rhineland will remain up here to watch the system and try to provide some overwatch for us all." came the voice of Lee Yamaguchi. "The Pillar of Autumn will come with us, we may need her guns if things start with us."

Just then a second com signal came in. "This is the Pillar of Autumn. We're with you." came the accent of a Bajoran male.

Kasana then sent out the word. "Alright, since our ship and Tvashtar have the best sensors, everyone else will follow our direction. Don't go anywhere in this system before either the Washaibo's or Tvashtar clears it first."

On the bridge of the Tvashtar. Fleet Captain Lee Yamaguchi smiled at Captain Autumn Konovalov. "This is your show Autumn."

The older human female in the center seat smiling. "Thank you. Let's do this. Elathian. You up?"

"I'm right here Autumn." Elathian Jii's voice came back "Autumn's guns are ready for anything, considering what happened last time the Federation was here, my crew is ready too.." the Bajoran Captain responded.

Konovalov nodded. "Helm, take us in slowly."

Kasana had her ship proceed slowly and carefully into the system. With Washaibos sensors at full power, she was able to avoid the subspace rifts that remained in the system. But her sensors were also able to detect much greater threats, mainly, quantum filaments.

Tvashtar moved in cautiously. Her sensors scanning in all directions as the Pillar of Autumn followed, her weapons and sensors were all ready to go.

Captain Elathian Jii sat in his command chair, in silence as he regarded the display on the screen. "I'm sorry I missed this event when it happened."

"I'm told it was chaotic skipper." the first officer responded.

"Yeah. I heard that too." Elathian responded quietly. "Anything?"

"Nadda sir." the science officer responded. "I'm reading the remnants of all of the planets in the system, half of those are missing and I'm reading a large brown dwarf in the outer system but the star is now closer to classification K rather than classification G which it used to be."

"Impressive," Elatian responded in a dry tone of voice.

One of Washaibo's Sensor officers then pointed something out, "Kasana, I'm reading what appears to be a wormhole in the system."

Kasana nodded. "Let's get a closer look."

The massive command ship then slowly turned towards the location of the wormhole proceeding carefully and ensuring that there was nothing dangerous in front of them.

Tvashtar meanwhile spotted the same wormhole moments later. Julia Yamaguchi smiled, the female Dranaei was seated in the Executive officer's chair. "Think it's worth a closer look skipper?"

"I do indeed. Helm. take us there." the older human female responded.

"Aye, sir."

Kasana took in the reports on the wormhole and read them carefully. The wormhole was unstable. According to estimates, the thing would collapse in a few days at most, but for now, it could handle ship traffic. Kasana had her ship send probes through just to be sure. However, she immediately knew something was wrong when less than half of the probes returned, some of them bearing the scars of battle damage. But she waited patiently for their report to come in.

The ships science officer then delivered the report," The Wormhole is being sustained by some kind of energy beam originating from a ship on the other side. They fired at our probes."

Kasana nodded, "readouts on the ship."

"Romulans, I think." The science officer replied, somewhat confused. " The ship definitely has a Romulan power signature, but the probes picked up some very strange readings for a Romulan vessel."

Julia Yamaguchi raised an eyebrow as she regarded the information on the display before her. "I've never seen a wormhole with this kind of a power signature." she turned to the human female next to her. "Is it safe enough for transit?"

Konovalov regarded Julia. "You wish to go through?"

"Why not?" she paused. "This is where the USS Pinto was lost. Maybe we can find some clues as to where she might be located."

"Quite right," Konovalov responded. "Contact the other ships. Inquire about their status?"

Kasana delivered her report from the probes, "We think there is a ship on the other side, holding the wormhole open, and I don't think they are too friendly."

Lee Yamaguchi's voice came over the com net. "Makes sense. Alright. What are our options?"

Kasana examined the power readings from the probes, then suggested. "Well according to our sensor readings, the ship on the other side is considerably weaker than a battleship, so we should send a battleship through first, and if they try to fight, we should be able to subdue them."

Elathian Jii's voice came over the com net. "Understood. We can head through whenever you're ready," he commented.

"We are ready," Kasana replied.
