| Personal History | Jake Yamaguchi was born the fourth child. The third pregnancy of five children and four pregnancies of Dr Rachael Yamaguchi and then Chief Petty Officer Benjamin Yamaguchi. he was the first boy in a household of girls. His eyes were blue where his brothers were brown, all of their sisters had either blue, brown or hazel eyes. He grew up as part of a very happy household, his birth date was August 9th, Twenty-Three Forty-Seven. Like his sisters, he was raised and lived on Earth Spacedock as both his parents were in Starfleet. He would have a very close relationship with his mother. This was something that would influence his relationship with his own spouse and his own children and grandchildren. Jake had a highly developed sense of right and wrong, he would not begrudge another the fruits of his labours or take credit for someone else's work. He was always helpful to others and generally got along with most people he encountered. His family would face many tests and trials as well, starting with the loss of their mother at Wolf Three Five Nine as Jake and his various siblings all went off to the academy, his eldest April was serving as an Ensign, Coral was as well while Heather and Talon were both at the academy, senior and upperclassmen respectively. Jake, along with his siblings at the academy, his girlfriend who was one Torilla Unal, as well as the rest of the cadet corps, were mobilized to face the Borg threat when he realized that there was something more than just the casual hello going on between him and Torilla. The threat of their impending destruction forced him to look past the Borg cube to the future, as the Enterprise pulled a rabbit out of their collective hats and destroyed the Borg Cube orbiting Earth. Jake finalized his relationship with Torilla as he promised marriage, to his eternal surprise, she accepted and they were married a month after the end of the Borg crisis, all of Jake's family were in attendance, all of Jake's siblings liked this addition to their family as Torilla had made it a matter of personal importance to get along with Jake's siblings. While all of this was going on, Jake took his new bride under his wing as he could see that she had some repressed rage issues and she also had a very analytical mind, so he began training her in the various martial arts styles that he had learned while growing up. When news came from her homeworld that she had been banished because of her choice to mate with an offworlder a few months after she was wed, the Yamaguchi clan had unified behind her in solidarity and unity, their rage was potent and lasting as what they thought was the cruel and harsh treatment of their new sibling-in-law. It was also around this time Jake and his wife welcomed their first child, a daughter that she and her husband would name Elizabeth. It was also around this time Jake and his wife welcomed their first son and second child, a son they named Gabriel, named after the legendary archangel in Christendom, it would give Torilla a compass to follow whereas before, she had none thanks to the elders of her home, casting her out for following her heart, it would also give a guiding reference for Jake in his future which would point to the command chair early. When she and her husband graduated from the Academy in 2369, they were assigned to the USS Halfgan, a new Akira class starship. For a time, Torilla and Jake's family was a happy and stable one as they went from the Halfgan to the USS Courageous. Here Jake was promoted to the head of his own squadron before becoming the CAG on this ship. On an away mission, Jake was almost stranded behind a powerful energy field which by its nature distorted transporter signals. The transporter chief used a second confinement beam to ensure that Jake made it back to the ship. The energy field was created by a supervolcano eruption under a Decalithium deposit. This caused a massive surge of radiation and caused the evacuation of the outpost. The Courageous rescued the personnel involved, but they were not able to recover the data as the evacuation was more organized chaos than anything else. What actually happened was that it duplicated Jake into two men, one of whom continued with his life like nothing had happened and the second was Lee who was beamed down to the planet, he knew he had to do something to survive. So he gathered all the pets and made himself as best as he could while he waited for rescue. Lee was able to survive and to some measure thrive but the prolonged isolation did funny things to him, and it was here he remained for eight years until the field went down and he was rescued by the USS Breedlove. The Captain of the Breedlove was surprised by the situation as it was clear that he needed to abort the present mission for the Breedlove and head for the nearest Starbase. It was here that Lee decided to take the name 'Lee' to separate himself from the man who was now his brother. It was here where he met a delightful young woman named Julia Walking Bear. She became his therapist and was able to assist him in coming to terms with life which had passed on without him present. Suffice to say. Their relationship started the day after he had been rescued on the Breedlove. Julia Walking Bear quickly found herself becoming his cheerleader. Whenever he slipped or stumbled, she would always be there to help him and their relationship started as a mutual thing but it quickly developed into something much more. However, neither Lee nor Julia were willing to rush things. However, she could no longer serve as his therapist. This suited him just fine as she was better suited to helping him with his life issues. Lee was unsure of how to deal with Jake and the rest of the Yamaguchi's. Nevertheless, they all accepted Lee as one of their own, all of them without question or hesitation. Lee was kin and that was all that mattered. Jake made every effort to get along with his brother and while the two had their issues, they were also brothers. "Is that not the nature of brothers Jake?" Lee had once asked of Jake. The two were able to get along and not let their mutual issues get out of hand. Lee saw that Jake was willing to try and Jake saw that Lee was willing to accept it. This mutual fact alone sealed both men's friendship. Lee was assigned to inactive duty for the better part of two years while he went through therapy. While on Deneva, Lee ran into his cousin, Daniel Yamaguchi and his wife, T'Rae while the two were vacationing in the Highland Mountains. Lee went with them. But instead of getting a bad vacation in the middle of nowhere. He found himself becoming a father to twins. It was around this that he and Julia were married. Lee developed a new purpose in life and a new cause. to protect the weak and the innocent. Lee's devotion to his newfound cause took on a level of tenacity and fanaticism that most people often never got to see as he sought a different path in life from Jake, his twin. When his time in therapy was finished. Lee decided to go back into Starfleet. He was then assigned as the Chief Engineer of the USS Breedlove. Julia Yamaguchi went with him as one of the medical officers. It was around this time that their third child came along. The next year they welcomed the first set of twins and then a year after this, they welcomed a second set of twins, two girls this time and then Julia found herself becoming pregnant for the fourth time and they welcomed a boy they both named Marcus for Captain Marcus Wright, Commanding Officer of the Breedlove. When Marcus Wright found out, he was deeply honoured and moved as he had assumed that Lee had hated him, the two men set things right once and for all. Lee was assigned here for the better part of two years before he was offered his first real command, the USS Tvashtar, he was going to turn it down but Commodore Sildra Vaxx-Warfield talked him into it, citing Lee's record and experience, saying. 'Lee, you are ready for this, to be your own boss... we'll get on just fine without you, somehow..." Lee liked serving with the Bolian woman as she was generally laid back and easygoing. Lee knew he'd miss the crew and Sildra Vaxx-Warfield but he accepted command of the Vesta class USS Tvashtar. Lee accepted command of the Tvashtar where he has remained to this day, his wife and children at his side. Now he is relishing being his own skipper doing what needs to be done. During the Starfleet Military Reorganization Act of 2391, his rank was moved from Commodore to Fleet Captain. It was not a demotion as it was simply an adjustment. Early in 2393, Lee was asked to consider moving into Starfighter Command as one of their senior administrators, he would take the posting as Commanding Officer for the Starfighters in the Ninty-Second fleet and his assignment would require him to be based on the Valhalla. His rank would become Division General for the assignment. His wife would come to join him, thus the two would be reunited and Lee would resume raising his children with Julia at his side. This was something that brought a deep sense of fulfilment to Lee. |
