Commander Tom Lasky sighed softly. "Blasted Klingons," he growled. "Status?"

"Shields are at sixty percent." Moni Nasao responded from one of the aft bridge stations. Mav'a Tiris smiled. "At least they didn't try to board us."

"They didn't get close enough to try," Aerin commented. "Plus with our ships now equipped with transporter jammers, it would be futile for them to try anyway."

Lasky raised an eyebrow but he sighed softly. "That's never stopped them from trying before.." he commented. "Alright. Let's see to our own guy's needs and provide for them... We're in this fight for the duration."

Teval looked over at Hakaya, how is the rest of the ship holding up.

Hakaya looked over her console as the reports came in. "Well aside from the somewhat drained shields, everything else checks out as well as it should on this bucket of bolts."

Lieutenant Mav'a Tiris laughed but she didn't say anything as Moni Nasao was the one who spoke up. "So we're still in one piece then?"

Lasky raised an eyebrow. "Considering...." he left the sentence open ended.

Neither Aerin nor Rykar said anything in response, both of them, as well as every other department head on the ship, had been briefed several days ago as to the fate of their ship. And most of the crew wasn't complaining about it. However, Hakaya did say it," Yeah, the ship will be in pieces in 6 months."

"Yeah, the sooner the better," Lasky muttered in a dark tone, he kept his voice down but there was really no need. "Get me a full scan, please. I want to see everything that's in the system. Knowing Klag. She's already preparing for his next fight. Let's do the same."

"We don't really need to do that," Rykar mentioned," Other ships with more capable sensors are handling that duty as well as our EWAC birds. Thanks to the new command datalink system that has been installed recently, I have access to their scan results."

Lasky sighed. "Oh.," he muttered softly. "Okay then... So what's the scan results?" he inquired. "I have a feeling that Klag... is up to something..." he sighed softly.

Lt Commander Chan turned. "Klag is generally regarded as something of a genius by Klingon Empire standards." the Klingon male who was presently handing one of the stations on the left side of the bridge.

Lasky regarded Chan with a measure of trepidation. "What do you know of him?"

"He learned his craft from a human, ironically enough. I believe it was Admiral Riker who at the time was a mere Commander, taught Klag much about what it meant to be human and how to apply that to being a Klingon. His file I believe is now required reading at the Klingon command academy."

Moni Nasao regarded him. "How would you know that?" she inquired.

"I'm a Klingon Diplomat Lieutenant," Chan answered evenly. "How do you think I'd know that?" he then raised an eyebrow as if inviting her to draw her own conclusions.

Lasky raised an eyebrow. "I assume you are going to tell us?"

"If you wish?" Chan inquired. "The explanation is simple... While I was serving on the USS Galaxy. I was invited to take a tour of the Elite Command Academy while we were on Kronos for a diplomatic meeting with Chancellor Gowron, about four months into his term as leader... I was asked because I am a Klingon."

"How was the tour?" Nasao inquired.

"Informative. It's where I learned a great deal about my future enemies." Chan explained. "I would face the Klingons in battle in the short Federation-Klingon war of Seventy-Two... Maraad and I wrote the book on massed destroyer tactics.."

"Wait. you have command experience?" Lieutenant Mav'a Tiris inquired, the large Bolian female regarded him with a gentle smile.

"Yes. Lieutenant I do." Chan answered. "Alas, I grew to enjoy killing Klingons... I suspect I will again."

"That's a bit much, don't you think?" Cressa Stevens said in a soft tone of voice.

"Not at all, Lieutenant. You see if the Klingons wish to keep fighting then I will be more than happy to guide them along the path to Sto-Vo-Kor." the Klingon responded.

"Don't you think you are taking this a little too personally.?" Lasky inquired.

"Not at all Commander. The collapse and implosion of the Empire was all but inevitable, it was simply a matter of when and I believed that time has come at long last." Chan then smiled. "Their leadership is making many poor choices recently... especially those of enemies... Do you not think?"

Lasky nodded. "I have had that thought actually."

"Yes. It's a ploy... risking it all on a gamble as J'mpok thinks that we will not invade the empire and he has an external threat to deal with."

"That's quite a theory," Lasky responded. "We have no way to out it to...wait.. we do." he turned to Teval. "I'll go draft up a report for the commander of our battlegroup with this theory and see what they make of this."
