Mission: Mission 79: Sound Trumpets! Let Our bloody Colors Wave
Location: Various Locations - Goranar System
Timeline: 0710Hrs - April 12th, 2392

The half dozen or so Federation carriers began deploying their starfighters and bombers, which began forming up to enshroud the various ships they were protecting. The Infinity and Stalingrad moved off to flank the large Federation battle groups.

Kio Eriva, the XO of Nevanzi's task force commented," Well, this is going to be the first battle where we get to use those new missiles."

Nevanzi nodded, knowing that she was referring to the UAF designed cruise missiles that were recently fitted to his task forces arsenal cruisers and some destroyers. he never utilized them when freeing the Ferasian's since there was no need to use them. But this time around, He figured they would be needed. These missiles were designed specifically for attacking carriers or key command ships from ranges normally only Lancers could attack from. However, he had only a limited supply of these missiles. However, he decided to inform Patterson," Let your pilots know, if they spot a high priority target, such as a flagship or fleet carrier, we have some long-range cruise missiles that can take them out from 20 million kilometers if needed."

Patterson tapped the display as the message came in. "Thank you for letting me know. I'll forward it to my guys." he smiled before he tapped the display before him for the carriers in his fleet, passing the word along.

The clouds of starfighters began moving forward to scout out the area ahead of the fleet as it moved into the Goranar system. Before long the sensors began to light up with the telltale displays of battle that was presently taking place. "Patterson to all ships.. prepare to engage the enemy.... " he sighed. "Good luck and good hunting."

Nevanzi issued out his next order to the carrier commanders. "Alright carriers, have your craft go for the isolated ships first, particularly any destroyer sized vessels."

Lasky nodded. "Roger that." he turned to Torilla who was nearby. "Launch all of our birds. relay the orders to them. Targets of opportunity."

Torilla Lasky smiled. "Launching them now." her grin widened. "The Federation is about to get a reminder in how drone tech actually is supposed to work." the tall female responded before she turned to her husband. "I see Klingons on the starboard bow..."

"Alright. Let's scrape em off and show these bastards what we think of them!"

"Righty-yo." Torilla Lasky answered. "Scraping off the Klingons..." she sighed as a smile appeared on her face. "Alright. Time to exterminate the bad guys.."

Kumirae took her position on the flag bridge of the Dreamcrusher. She had no choice but to use Dreamcrusher, and she didn't have anywhere near the full sized flag staff she needed, so she was forced to make do with what she had. Not helping matters was the rather disorganized manner of the Federation fleets chain of command. She was the only division admiral out of the group, and one rear admiral was in charge of everyone. They had maybe 2 or three Commodores, one being Zara Tane. Their fleet was also very capital ship heavy, lots of battleships and several battlecruisers, plus several of the new fleet carriers, but there weren't too many cruisers or destroyers.

The last time Kumirae had ever seen such a capital ship heavy fleet was back in the days when the Proxima class was the front line battleship of the Federation. Kumirae looked at the plot which displayed the Federation carriers. It didn't help that of these carriers, several were brand new. Tigers Claw had even been given an emergency commission and since she still hadn't received her permanent fighter wings, she had been loaded with sections of 4th independent fighter brigade. The rest of the brigade had been put on the just as new Vikrant class carrier New Berlin, which also was without a permanent fighter wing, opting to pick up the rest of 4th independent brigade along the way. It didn't help that 4th independent was still primarily a planet based unit.

K'Miras meanwhile tried his best to organize the fighter brigade as best he could, but his many of his pilots weren't used to flying off carriers, and it wasn't helped by the very green crew of the New Berlin and Tigers Claw. But for their credit, they were trying their best.
