Mission: Mission 61: The Blood-Dimmed Tide
Location: Niven System - Various ships
Timeline: 1000Hrs - January 25th 2392

Teval received some marching orders and he looked up at Lasky. "Alright well, got some orders form the federation council, they are sending Matron Furban over to have a chat with the Ferasians, some preliminary negotiations basically, and we need to send a few people to escort her."

Lasky sighed. "Lovely... so I'll handle it... I can take along a couple of security people to assist me. When is the meeting happening and where?"

Teval looked at the orders," On the Akurian Super Battleship Valikir's Flame. That's where Uzara is staying."

"Alright." Lasky responded evenly. "I'll go round up the ...." he stopped for a moment. "Lady and to on over to the Super battleship.." he tapped his combadge. "Lasky to Matron Furban. please report to transporter room two, its time to go to work."

"I'll be there shortly, Commander." She was not.

Matron Furban made an entrance anywhere she went. And this entrance, she had that same fur on, but under that was a beautiful half-silk gown of purple and lavender.

"Are you ready, Commander?" Matron Furban asked.

"I am." Lasky was ready for anything and his regular uniform indicated as much.

Von Estling stood by as one of the security guards, remaining silent, but he checked his phaser anyway, just to be sure.

Lieutenant Fred Noonan stood near the armory NCO before he too checked his sidearm. "Well.." he sighed as the door opened and in walked Matron Furban and Commander Lasky. "You guys ready?"

Noonan nodded. "Yessir."

Lasky nodded. "Let's go." as the four of them stepped up onto the transporter pad. "Energize whenever you're set Chief."

"Aye sir.... Energizing."

"Is there anything I should know about the people I'm meeting with?" Furban asked Lasky, once they materialized.

Lasky regarded her and while he was tempted to tel her anything. "Just these these people are freed slaves and that we will do what we can to help them.. They are Caitians who the Klingons have held as slaves for centuries."

Von Estling looked around, having never been on an Akurian ship before. The group had been forced to beam on to the battleship's observation deck, as most area's of the ship where too heavily armored to reliably beam through. He sure as hell wasn't anticipating the sheer size of the ship.

"Would the Caitians welcome them back to their homeworlds?" Matron Furban asked casually.

"I have no reason to assume they wouldn't." Lasky responded as the four of them walked out of the observation deck where they were met by their Akurian crewmen. "Hey guys, where is Uzara?"

The Akurian security officer replied. "Follow me, she is in the flag bridge."

Lasky and the others fell into line in silence, a short time later they had reached their destination. Lasky as the first one into the room followed by Von Estling, then Noonan and then Furban. "I'm Tom Lasky. We're here to meet with you and see to you wants and needs." he addressed Uzara

Uzara and Nevanzi both looked up form their seats and looked over the newcomers. Uzara replied. "OK." while she looked at the four of them, but then something caught her attention, the coat that the older Betazed was wearing, looked disturbingly like Ferasian fur. Even worse off, the coat design looked distressingly familiar, prompting her to say, almost with a growl, "That Coat better not be made of what I think it is."

Lasky raised an eyebrow. "I think she's addressing you." he addressed Furban before he added. "What does it look like its made from?" he inquired, as he had a horrible idea of where this was heading.

"I was told it was an exotic fur," Furban explained gently. "I never asked, as it was a gift."

Neither Uzara nor Nevanzi even got the chance to voice their suspicions when a nearby tiger like Ferasian screamed and charged, "YOU WEAR THE FUR AND BLOOD OF OUR SPECIES YOU veQ." No one had a chance to react before the Ferasian was on her, tearing into Matron Furban with his claws.

Ryuukei acted as quickly as he could, using his energy manipulator powers to hit the Ferasian with a stun attack, knocking him out cold.

The matron was crying and moaning from the pain and blood running out of various wounds.

If Lasky had been looking the other way he would have missed it, it all happened so fast as his instincts took over, he snatched a nearby chair and went to swing it at the Ferasian, except Ryuukei had already dealt with the situation so he simply dropped the chair with a sigh.

Lasky turned before grabbing the wounded Betazoid woman and hauled her out of there. He slapped his combadge. "Lasky to Roanoke..." he stopped. "Emergency transport, two to beam out?"

"Negative Commander, I can't get a lock, you need to move somewhere where the armor is thinner or backtrack the way you came."

"Confirmed. My guys with me... " Lasky called as Noonan had his sidearm out as he waited for someone to do something stupid.

Lasky meanwhile started to backtrack the way he came. It took a few moments to get a clear signal before he called for evacuation for himself and the Ambassador, regardless of his issues with her. "I have a lock on you Commander and the Ambassador."

"Beam us straight to sickbay." Lasky waited for the beam out.

Windspirit was among the first responders, quickly noticing the numerous and deep gashes on the ambassador's face and body. Immediately she began first aide, while Von Estling briefed one of the nurses on what happened. One of the other nurse's aides removed the coat and set it aside.

The door opened and in came Galiaan Fordring, wearing her gear. "Talk to me goose.?" she inquired as she grabbed her medical kit before moving over to the Ambassador.

The nurse filled in Galiaan Fordring as windspirit was too busy to do that task.

The nurse responded. "Caucasian female, Betazed, middle-aged with multiple puncture wounds and lacerations."

"Right... Nalla?" Galiaan called. "I'll work on her, you ask the questions k?" she asked of the diminutive Deltan woman nearby. "Yes... I know she is your mother... ask anyway."

Nalla dove right in, unaware of the question was considered inappropriate from a daughter to mother. "When was the last time you had coitus? And was it with your Deltan mate?"

"I'm..." The Matron groaned and turned red in the face. "Nalla! That's none of your business."

"For medical treatment, it is. Mating with Deltans causes madness," Nalla pointed out a little less sure of herself. The anger in her birth mother's voice made her timid.

Windspirit nearly laughed but managed to keep it suppressed.

Galiaan meanwhile worked at Matron Furban's injuries. Most of which were shallow and painful but other then that they were bleeders was enough to warrant concern. Also she was keeping an eye on Furban interacting with Nalla.

Von Estling looked at the matron's fur coat, which the doctors had removed and was significantly damaged in the attack. Curious himself, he looked at Lasky, saying. "Well, if you don't mind, I want to test that fur coat, see if there is any truth to the Ferasians statements."

"Go for it Master Chief. Keep me informed as to what you find please and thanks." as Lasky picked up the jacket and then handed it over to the security officer as he frowned. Something about all of this didn't add up but he would wait to see what security turned up.

Von Estling took the coat and left the room, heading over to Warrick browns lab. Moments later he arrived in the lad, and seeing Warrick at his desk he asked. "Hey Warrick, if your not busy, I need you to check this coat real quick, figure out what species it comes from."

Warrick nodded. "You're always at the top of my workload Master Chief." as he accepted the item, before he proceeded with the examination. "Oh... you got a sick one... this jacket is the skin of a dead sentient being... Who owns this?" Brown inquired darkly.

Von Estling crossed his arms. "Matron Furban. I take it its Caitian skin, isn't it."

Brown nodded his head. "Indeed... Caitian skin." he sighed. "So.. what happened over there?"

Von Estling took his time explaining all the details of the Ferasian situation to Warrick, then he explained what happened on the Akurian battleship." Finishing of with. "Yeah, needless to say, looks like the Ferasian was right, this was one of the coats they where forced to make, and somehow it wound up in Matron Furban's hands."

Brown's reaction started with surprise then horror then revulsion and then it slid right to disgust. "Well that explains a few things." he paused. "How did Matron Furban end up with a Caitian skin coat?" he inquired.

Von Estling shrugged," Apparently she claims it was a gift, anyway, thanks for the help."

Brown nodded his head. "Thanks for asking me."

Von Estling then walked back to sickbay, where both Teval and Zara where present, prompting him to announce," Yep, this fur coat was definitely made from the skin of Ferasians/Caitians."

Lasky raised an eyebrow. "So... the Ferasians were right all along... This wasn't an accident and they didn't loose the rag over nothing.." he sighed. "So.. What do we do now.... I assume they will want nothing to do with us after this.." he shook his head. "Fucking hell.."

"Right..." Zara facepalmed. "We gotta pull Olmos then. She's got the training, the pedigree, and the personality to not fuck this up badly."

Teval gave Matron Furban a very nasty look, then said quietly, "So what do we do about that trainwreck."

"Keep her here for a few hours," Zara smirked as she walked to the intercom and disabled it. Then she walked out of the room to announce Matron Furban's departure and that the diplomatic hall was now open.

Lasky nodded. "Okay. keeping her here..."

Fordring overhead as a smile crossed her face. "I'll need to keep the matron in sickbay overnight for.. observation."
