Mission:
Mission 57: The Northern Lights
Location: Various Locations - USS Dreamcrusher
Timeline: 1000Hrs - January 13th - 2392
Commander Celeste Yamaguchi regarded her younger cousin, eldest child of her cousin Jake. "So... you smacked her for it."
"I don't know what it was..." Elizabeth responded.
"Yes you do... You're feeling guilty about Phoenix for awhile now and you saw Kurt as a way to atone....."
"Well.. thats makes a lot of sense.." Elizabeth paused.
"Yes.." Celeste responded. "You have been far too hard on yourself recently Elizabeth, you've felt like you owed people things when you paid for them long ago."
Just then Celeste heard someone enter sickbay. it was a smaller officer who'm she didn't know. "Can I help you?" she inquired politely.
Teval looked up at Celeste, " Yeah I'm just here to ask Elizabeth about something."
Elizabeth sighed softly, she knew what was coming. "Rachael was being a jackass about matters that don't concern her." she responded.
"Should I leave you lasses to finish this?" I can come back later," Ennis suggested, for he was uncertain if he should listen to a conversation he had already heard his wife's version of.
Celeste raised an eyebrow. "No.. come in.... I suspect this will be highly entertaining... for me at least."
Teval knew that this situation was a ticking timebomb, and though he didnt know how to defuse it, the least he could do was try to avoid setting it off, so he replied carefully. "Relax Elizabeth, I'm not here to yell at you or belittle you, Lasky thinks I need to get out more and pay more attention to my crew when something crazy happens so I am doing just that. And yes you may not be apart of my crew, but Rachael is, and you two did pretty much let the entire deck know something was going on."
Elizabeth paused. "Rachael thinks I'm running away from my issues.." she explained as she shifted her attention to Ennis. "I'll be out of here in a moment." before she shifted back to Teval. "Rachael created a public problem out of a private matter... that was originally between myself and Phoenix Sullivan.."
Teval didn't understand the issue between Elizabeth and Phoenix, instead replying. "Yeah I kinda figured it was Rachael whom went off, I'm just wondering why."
"I'm honestly not sure." Elizabeth responded quietly. "I told her I was sticking my name in for reassignment and she went off the rails...." she sounded mystified. "Which... is odd for her."
"I'll have a talk with her if you like, Sister," Ennis offered to Elizabeth.
"Its not a major problem...but I am worried about her.." Elizabeth responded quietly. "I've seen Rachael in almost every mindset you can imagine from being unbearably sad to deliriously happy but... something bugging her... and she won't tell me.." she sighed. "I'm missing something..."
"Seems I am too...." Ennis frowned. "She's just so happy around the family."
Celeste Yamaguchi raised an eyebrow. "Maybe there is something gnawing at her." she paused as she gently rubbed her slowly but ever expanding belly. "Job related perhaps..." she paused. "or maybe she wants something... but can't have it.. because of her job."
"Rachael loves flying.." Elizabeth responded quietly. "Wait... Of course.." she sighed. "She has a family... and she's a fighter pilot."
"I'll have a talk with her," Ennis promised. "Though I'm guessing I'm here for other reasons than talking about my wife."
Celeste nodded. "You're here because I want someone to handle my medical needs." she explained. "I need someone not on my staff who won't sugarcoat things for me and can tell me what I need to hear... I looked for someone and you were at the top of my rather short list."
"You want us to go into a private room then?" Ennis asked.
Yamaguchi regarded the younger woman as Elizabeth raised an eyebrow. "I know all about the details but I'll leave you two to chat." she paused. "Teval. Do you want to walk with me?" she inquired and with that she rose to her feet and out the door she went.
