Mission: Mission 57: The Northern Lights
Location: Various Locations - USS Roanoke
Timeline: 1030Hrs - January 13th - 2392

Warrant Officer Rachael Yamaguchi was in an annoyed mood as she was wearing the usual gym attire, she was sparing with one of the other pilots who was busy crushing her into the ground.

Ripcord landed in a heap on the mat as the massive pilot stood over her. "You always were easy to take on." he regarded her. "This... is no contest.." as Ripcord lifted her legs before she leapt to her feet, she then took a moment to prepare herself. "Just impressing the crowd." she responded.

"Take a moment then... because I am going to fuck you into the ground baby."

"My husband would protest... As I would too." Ripcord smiled as she looked up at him.

The massive pilot swing at her, Rachael smiled as she sidestepped his swing before she made her move, she grabbed his arm as she swing her lithe form onto his back, she when wrapped her legs around his body as she grabbed him around the throat. "Now... How do you like it!" Rachael responded as she held on tightly.

The pilot who was twice her size tried and failed to rid himself of her as he felt her digging into his sides with her feet. "Want me to put you in a sleeper... or a choke hold.?" Rachael then applied a choke hold to him.

It only took a few moments as he dropped to his knees as Ripcord maintained her grip on his throat. "You should not have made this personal."

"Fuck you..." he muttered before he passed out.

Ripcord hopped off of him, she turned her head as she looked at him lying there, as two medics came over, one of them shouted to her. "Why'd you do that?!"

"Were you not paying attention?" Ripcord responded in a tone that said she was mildly disinterested at best and didn't care at worst. "Or are you just stupid?"

"You could have killed him."

"Thats right." Ripcord brushed him off. "But for the benefit of the uneducated among us... let me explain what actually happened."
Ripcord paused to breathe while she gathered her wits about her.

"This was a sparing match, where he.. that is Colossus smacked Ripcord first, he was the one who made this personal and Ripcord had little choice but to respond." Hoppy explained as she cut Ripcord off. "What was she to do?" she inquired, she indicated Ripcord as she spoke.

"Well... Not let it get personal."

"Yes, you really are stupid." Hoppy responded. "There was his implied threat that he was going to and I quote "Fuck you into the ground?" she looked at Ripcord, she nodded back. "Unquote."

"Yes well." the medic responded. "My point stands."

"Oh for crying put loud... Stop talking and treat him please..." Ripcord responded darkly. "You're just trying to piss me off.

Hoppy sighed. "I need to go to the gym..." she turned and departed as Ripcord turned to follow, but she heard a voice asking her to remain while she thought 'Fuck, what now!'

Wukari could tell Rachael was on a hair trigger, but she asked anyway.
"Rachael, what has been up with you lately."

Rachael turned her head. "Colossus made this personal.." she responded. "I had no choice..." as she fumed. "Y'know... I came here for some stress relief... and instead I find exactly the opposite.."

Wukari sighed then replied. "You have been nothing but stressed out lately. I have noticed, even though he may have picked the fight this time, this isn't the first scuffle you have been in. It seems to me you have completely lost interest in being a pilot anymore."

Teval meanwhile walked in but didn't say anything right away.

Rachael nodded, she decided to go all in. "I don't." she responded bluntly. "I... I don't enjoy the thrill of flight... I am distracted by my family... something goes wrong and my husband looses his second wife." she paused. "I think.... I should leave Fighter Corps... and find something else.."

Viking came over. "Ripcord.." she addressed her pilot. "I saw what happened and Colossus will be dealt with but... You've not been in the best of states recently."

Rachael regarded her squadron commander in silence as "Viking" spoke her piece. "I'm going to ground you until further notice... maybe a little enforced time off will help."

"No." Rachael responded. "I request reassignment out of fighter corps and back into Starfleet.... I'll see what the Fleet can offer me.... because Fighter Corps can't offer me anything..."

"Because of your family?" "Viking" inquired not unkindly, a soft smile on her face.

"Yes." Rachael responded quietly.

"I will look into the paperwork for you." She turned to Wukari. "What do you think skipper?"

Wukari gave the matter some thought. "Well given that one of your issues was being separated from your family, I don't think it would be a good idea for you to go off and go to some random school for retraining for another 3-6 months. So, what I can do, is arrange for you to get on ship retraining, so you can do your retraining without having to leave the ship, if you desire. But first, I want you to take a week off, spend time with family and friends, and don't worry about work, don't even think about it. And then when that is done, we can discuss your career arrangements."

"Aye ... Wukari.. I can... do that." she paused. "I've never really had much time for me..." she admitted. "I've always chased being a pilot since I was a child... now that I got it... Family is getting in the way....." she let out a soft sigh. "Should I clean out my locker?"

Wukari shook her head. "Worry about that when the time comes, you need thew time off right now to pay attention to your family. "She then looked over at Teval, I know you and Hakaya as well as the other two Kurokuri spent a lot of time in that subspace sinkhole with Rachael right, why don't one of you take Rachael out for a short trip on the planet."

Teval nodded. "Yeah that can be arranged."

Rachael stood in silence. "Alright..." she paused before she let out a soft sigh. "I have some thinking to do..." she added softly.

Teval nodded. "Lets bring Saki too, and we will see if we can find you two a hobby, because you both desperately need one."

"We do?" Rachael inquired. "How so.... Wait I got training to do."

Teval sighed, saying, "Missing out on a few days of training isn't going to hurt you that much."

Rachael paused as she found she had no good answer for that statement. "Understood."
