Bringing the fleet Together

Mission: Mission 52: The Astral Winds
Location: Various Locations - Starbase 12
Timeline: Dec 3rd 2391

Ryuukei sat comfortable on the bridge of the Ryazar's shield, snuggled up in between Arumi and Weyai, when Bihkami alerted him to the fleets arrival. "Hey Ryuukei, the fleet is here."

Ryuukei observed as about a hundred Akurian vessels dropped out of FTL, ranging from large battleships to destroyers. Bihkami then added," Division Commodore Nevanzi would like to have a word."

Ryuukei nodded and went over to the comm system," Ryuukei here."

"Ah Ryuukei, it's Nevanzi, so this is where you have been hanging out."

Ryuukei nodded," Yep, by the way, you should probably have a chat with the federation admiral, they might be wetting their pants over there."

Nevanzi nodded "willdo." Leaving the comm channel open, he then activated the federation subspace transceiver and opened a channel with the federation base.

Fleet Admiral April Yamaguchi was standing in the operations center, the base commander was standing next to her, the Bolian woman who was somewhat shorter then April. "Impressive." Sildra commented.

Yamaguchi regarded the display before her. "Depends on your definition." she turned to the base exec who was sitting in a chair nearby, he looked cool, calm and collected. "Are they hailing us?"

"They are indeed.... It just came in." Davoust responded.

"Alright... Put them through.." Nevanzi introduced himself," I'm Nevanzi Jesko, commander of the Akurian battlegroup, you dont mind if I come aboard."

April nodded. "Of course." she responded. "Airlock fifteen is available." she paused. "Its on the outside of the base... your ships are too large to enter our base."

Captain Ward nodded as she smiled. "The beacon should be on your displays now."

Nevanzi nodded then said to Ryuukei," If you dont mind, I'd like you to come along as well."

Ryuukei acknowledged, then along with his siblings, he went to one of the shuttlebays, while Nevanzi had Arina pull the guardian of Kio over to the docking station. A few minutes later Ryuukei's shuttle landed in Guardian of kio's hangar bay, and he, Arumi and Weyai disembarked to meet Nevanzi. Soon as they met him, the for Akurians headed over to April's office, with Ryuukei filling Nevanzi in on what Ryazar's shield had been doing. After a roughly 10 minute walk the group made it to April's office.

April was sitting in her office, booted feet up on the desk as she had her eyes closed, her hands up behind her head as she smiled while she looked happy and comfortable. The door beeped at her. "Enter." as she opened one eye. "Ahh.." she rumbled before she lifted her boots off of the table and then she stood up. "I'm Fleet Admiral April Yamaguchi, commander of the Starfleet forces in this area." she regarded the new being who'm she didn't know before she turned to Ryuukei. "I see you had some luck finding your people..." she paused. "I had no idea you had such a sizable fleet...." she paused. "You know the Klingons will want to come and investigate..." she turned back to her new arrival. "So... What can we do for you?" April inquired.

Nevanzi decided to cut right to the chase," Well, what we need is time to regroup our battlegroup. What you see out there is only about a third of our battlegroup. Since our entry into this galaxy was through an unstable wormhole, our entire battlegroup got scattered throughout the galaxy. We need to set up a base of operations in which to regroup our forces. Also we don't know how long its going to be before our fleet on the other side finds a stable wormhole, so we may be camping out here for a while. Preferably I would like to set up camp on an uninhabited world, but a planet that is close enough to the federation to be helpful. We would also appreciate any help in trying to find our missing ships, and in exchange for base and planet leasing rights, we are willing to help your people out with your colony reinforcement missions."

April raised an eyebrow. "Well...I'll have my guys go through the lists of star systems in and around this area of Federation space, see if any systems pop out at you that you like." she paused. "I will need to clear this with my superiors but I think Fleet Admiral Andreyev shouldn't have too many issues." she paused. "in the meantime however. I will see what I can do with helping you find your missing battle groups and ships." she paused. "I do have access to one of the Federations deep space communications relays... The Rhea array is nearby... we can use it for your goals." she paused. "Don't your ships use a different communications system other then subspace?"

Nevanzi nodded," Yeah we use a tachyon based communications system."

Ryuukei conformed it by adding," When we recovered Ryazar's shield we had a subspace relay already prepared and we installed it in our recovery operation, thats why this issue didn't come up before."

Weyai, whom had better knowledge of communications system chimed in," But it is worth noting, that since almost everyone here uses subspace based communication there isn't going to be a lot of tachyon interference on the communication bands we use. We normally us ultra low energy tachyons, which doesn't occur naturally very often, and hardly ever interacts with normal matter unless its a specifically built low energy tachyon detector, like what is used in comm systems. So the Mutara Deep space arrays should be capable of producing a strong enough tachyon signal to reach pretty much throughout the galaxy."

Yamaguchi nodded. "Like I said... the Rhea array will handle the load."
she explained. "The platform is under my general command... and it orbits this systems in the forth planets Lagrangian point." she explained. "I have two ships looking after the area."

"Well that works then." Nevanzi replied. "I suppose though I'll have to talk to your superiors as well then, huh."

"Oh probably." April responded. "I'll inform them of your request to speak with them... but if worst comes to worst. you'll probably spend your time dealing with me." as she looked down at him. "Besides... He's-" she indicated Ryuukei as they spoke. "Been in starfleet for the last couple of decades at least, he's been invaluable.."

Nevanzi looked over at Ryuukei, saying to April." Yeah so I have heard. Anyway if you don't mind, I'll guess for now the fleet will stay here until a suitable planet is located."

April raised an eyebrow. "A show of force this size around this starbase will get out very quickly.." she explained. "While my people are used to such things, as the Ryazar's Shield could have easy taken us in a straight up fight, a fleet however is another matter.." she paused. "You're force will get a lot of unwanted attention as a result of your presence here."

Nevanzi looked a little puzzled, commenting," Well a show of force is definitely not our intention. But what trouble can we expect."

"A lot, to be honest." April explained. "We can expect visits from just about everyone who is not hostile to us... the Klingons especially since they are our allies." she responded. "Also we can't close the base... we're a major shipping hub in this region." she sighed softly.

Ryuukei and Nevanzi looked at each other, while Ryuukei commented,
"Well closing the base would be a bit drastic."

Nevanzi nodded," Yeah, we dont expect you to go to that extreme. I suppose though, we are going to have to be vigilent then huh."

"With all the people with cloaking technology around, I would suggest around the clock destroyer patrols of the area, both federation and Akurian," Ryuukei suggested."

April nodded in agreement. "Agreed." she responded. "The various powers will demand access to you." she let out a soft sigh. "Considering you are new to this region of the galaxy and you don't know who the other powers are... The Federation won't deny them.."

Weyai also made a suggestion. "Its also possible that the base may become a target for sabotage. Also some Klingons if they show up, might try to pick a fight with the larger Akurian species like the Ankuri or Velkuri."

April nodded before she tapped her combadge. "Yamaguchi to Ward?"

A feminine voice responded. "Ward here, yes my love.. errrr I mean Admiral....."

Yamaguchi raised an eyebrow as a smile graced her lips, clearly she was used to such. "My officers like to hit on me in public. Maybe I get out too much.. or not enough.." she said to Ryuukei. "Lock down the base Miranda, we might get infiltrators and saboteurs aboard."

"Copy that Admiral. Mine and Alex Rota's guys have it all..."

Nevanzi than added," Well, I'm going to head back to my ship then."

Yamaguchi nodded as she followed him out the door to her office, her six foot of height let her tower over him as she indicated the transporter station. "No need to walk back. we can beam you to the airlock so you can board that way... " she explained.
