Mission:
Mission 52: The Astral Winds
Location: Various Locations - USS Roanoke
Timeline: Dec 3rd 2391 - afternoon
Teval had managed to not accomplish a thing since Cyrin let him have it earlier. All he could do was sit there and brood, thinking about the Hanger deck incident over and over again. Aimlessly he fiddled with the medal that he had received for that incident, which as far as he was concerned was little more than a useless piece of scrap metal. Yet for some reason he couldn't bring himself to throw it away.
Lasky placed his last PADD onto the top of the done pile before he sighed softly, while sitting back. "So.... you still thinking about it?"
Teval threw the medal into his desk and looked up at Lasky," Cyrin gave me a rather unpleasant reminder."
"He didn't like you dragging him out of the hanger fire." Lasky responded. "Why did you haul him out rather then allow him to help?"
Teval didnt really have a good answer, instead falling back on his original excuse," Well, neither his nor my species is very big, and he didn't have energy manipulator abilities so its not like he really had the strength necessary to haul anyone else out."
Lasky regarded Teval. "But he would have overcome that issue." he explained. "he feels insulted because you rescued someone who didn't need it at the time."
Teval was unable to really come up with a response. However, he remembered another situation with Cyrin. "Wasn't he involved with the Ro'cholk incident."
Lasky nodded "He was..."
Teval dug through his desk looking for the incident report. After a few minutes of digging, he pulled up the incident report. Spending a few minutes reading through the report he then finally remarked," Yeah, Cyrin was injured by Ro'Cholk in that incident."
"That didn't help him but that was after the original incident," Lasky responded. "The Ro'Cholk was a separate event from the Hanger incident.."
Teval shook his head, "No but Abbado mentioned that after that incident he became even more recluse. I don't know, I am just trying to figure out how to deal with the situation because right now, I have no idea what to do."
Lasky nodded his head slowly. "There isn't much I can say on the matter, however." he sighed softly. "I can, however, recommend that you try to talk to him... or at least recommend that he see a counselor. If all else fails, you do have the right to order him to seek therapy." he paused. "Having it forced won't work however... Besides he's giving you nothing to work with."
Teval briefly considered his options then replied," Well I think we have seen exactly what happens if I try and force anything with him."
"Then don't." Lasky responded. "You still have to be in commend." he shrugged. "He might not like it... but he should respect it... if he doesn't then we give him a chance... if he doesn't take it then we get rid of him... we still need to ensure this ship runs smoothly."
Teval tried to reply but was unable to really come up with a response. Deciding that he needed a breathe of fresh air, he quietly left the ready room.
Lasky paused as he went back to his paperwork as he pushed the concern out of his mind, he knew that Teval was a big boy and could handle his own issues.
