Mission: Mission 49: The Stars Look Down
Location: Various Locations - USS Roanoke / USS Dreamcrusher
Timeline: 0900Hrs - November 17th, 2391

Commander Tom Lasky was looking over the displays from all of the ships in the battlegroup as it was about two hours before getting underway and for a change, everything was ahead of schedule, the two sets of war games had gone well and nothing had gone wrong with in all honest was something of a minor miracle and a major relief to Tom Lasky.

Lieutenant Moni Nasao who was manning the ships tactical station behind and to the left of where the commanding officer sat, perked up. "Commander, you have an incoming call, marked as personal from the USS Dreamcrusher."

Lasky rose to his feet. "Alright... I'll take it in my office, hold the call for me please."

"Willdo." as Lasky turned. "Luhanna, the bridge is yours."

The elegant looking Dranaei female of three centuries of life, gracefully pulled the earpiece out of her left ear before she slid out from behind the station she was manning, she moved in silence over to the big chair as she sat down. "Hmmm.." as she tapped the display before her. "All looks well." she mused to herself, looking like she very much belonged there.

Meanwhile, Lasky reached his office a few moments later, he entered as Shadow lifted her head from where she had been sleeping next to Shadow and Fives, two of the Andean mountain cats who had bonded with her, the third one named Typhoon had bonded with Cleo. For Lasky that was something of a major shock for him and to a lesser degree, it was for Zara as well.

Lasky tapped the display. It came alive with a picture of Elizabeth Yamaguchi. "Hey Tom... I only wanted a few moments.." Elizabeth's rank reflected the light off of her collar. "I have to admit... that little drama was downright terrifying."

"Hows Kurt doing...?" Lasky inquired.

"He's good... Still learning to eat and sleep.. But other then that he's good." Elizabeth sighed softly. "No thanks to me."

"Elizabeth." Lasky said quietly. "Stop blaming yourself for what happened... You were affected, same as me and thousands of others. At least the little guy is alright."

Elziabeth nodded her head, accepting his statement at face value "Any ideas where we;re heading...?"

"I hear we're heading for Retep Three.." Lasky responded. "But the battlegroup is splitting up into two groups... Courageous is leading group two.. Dreamcrusher, Argonne, Roanoke and Tranquility are heading together on their mission.... everyone else is heading out looking for the Pinto."

"Ahh.." Elizabeth smiled, it was common knowledge by now of what was going on. "Hows.. the Ambassador?" Elizabeth suddenly smiled a smile that was all teeth.

"That woman... is trying.. " he paused. "I guess I set all women by you and your mom.. and.. I guess that-"

"Don't finish that sentence Tom... I can almost hear you thinking it.." Elizabeth responded by way of interrupting him. "Don't compare mom or I to Zara... Its unfair to her."

Lasky smiled. "You're right... Sooo?"

"I was wondering how the little guy is doing..." Elizabeth paused, but the look on her face indicated she wanted to say so much more.

"He is still your brother Elizabeth... You will always have that right." Lasky responded quietly.

"I know... but.."

"No buts Beth. You are his blood." Lasky responded. "The sooner you accept that and... stop fighting with me on the matter... The better it will be for us all."

"Alright.." Elizabeth responded. "I still keep thinking of him as my child."

"I know Elizabeth.. and I know the difficult time you had in carrying him.." he made a mental note to discuss it with Zara over dinner tonight that his first daughter should be named Elizabeth because of her namesake's sacrifice in bringing Kurt into the world.

Elizabeth regarded him as she shifted her stance ever so slightly. "Anyway. I'd best get back to work... Give Zara my regards.."

"I'll do that. Give Kameron mine. Lasky out." and with that he terminated the call, the screen went black as he turned before going over to his desk to spend a moment with his cats.

Elizabeth meanwhile slowly smiled. The conversation had gone better then she had expected but she was not about to complain before she rose to her feet, she then vacated the doctors office. "Thank you Doctor. For the use of your office."

"Thanks for not taking all day." Tanya Stevenson responded as she regarded the younger woman with a smile. "Team two finished your work while you were gone... but.. would you mind going to help team three with their job... they are running behind."

"No worries. consider it done."

"Excellent, off with you then." as the two women parted company and went their separate ways to their separate assignments.
