Mission:
Mission 45: Dust and Echoes
Location: Various Locations - USS Roanoke
Timeline: 1300Hrs - October 12th, 2391
Fleet Admiral April Yamaguchi walked into the gym with a bo in hand, she was wearing a white martial arts gi, with three black stripes on her wrists which indicated her mastery of her craft.
Following her was her youngest sibling, Jake Yamaguchi who wore the same attire except he had one black belt on his wrists but he likewise carried a bostaff. "So April. you think you can defeat me?"
"Loser buys dinner."
"You're on." Jake's response was simple.
Nearby was Lieutenant Galiaan Fordring, watching over Commander Kendal Ozzel as he struggled to keep up on a treadmill. "No more.." he whimpered.
Galiaan Fordring sighed. "You've been at this for only two hours... my children can do better then this.." she sighed. "Hell their children can do better then this." as she pointed to the two Admirals who looked like they were trying to kill each other.
Ozzel growled something at her.
Lasky regarded Zara as he bowed to her. "You ready to go hon?" he inquired of her.
"Umm..." Zara scratched her neck before she finally crawled into the ring. "Okay... But no cheats."
"You task me...you task me and I will have you." Lasky responded. "I will put you over my knee and make you scream..." as he lifted his bostaff. "shall we?"
"I'm unarmed," Zara groaned, for this was going to hurt a lot. She sighed, however, and started to move in a large circle around Lasky. She wanted to see how far his reach got, as well as testing his response.
"You have a knife." he paused before he tested her as he took a swipe at her with his bo.
Zara used an upward swipe to divert the end of the staff away from her and followed through with a twist of her body to close the gap inside his circle of defense.
Lasky countered as he moved away from her. "Nice... you're improving.." he responded as he countered with a simple block then he pushed her away. "Come now Zara..... you Can do better then this.."
An evil grin caught her as Zara decided to go for his toes, rather than his torso. If anything, it was funny to see if she could make him dance. Tire him out, maybe.
Lasky leapt over her, he landed lightly behind her as he swung at her. Zara was quick enough to duck and attempt a sweep of Lasky's feet with a playful grin.
Lasky blocked her then he took a swipe at her with his bo. "You're improving." he responded before he ducked her wide swing.
"You're a good teacher," Zara winked. She used that moment of softness to roll right and kick high into Lasky's left side.
Lasky felt the blow impact his side as he countered with his bo, lashing out at her. "Not bad... misdirection over confrontation."
Zara felt the sweep and flipped on her stomach, after the full swish of Lasky's bo. The wind was knocked out of her, but Zara fought to roll out and breath.
"Yeah..." Zara agreed as she panted heavily and put her hands on her kneecaps.
Lasky regarded her. "Always keep your mind on your work before you." as he offered her a hand. "Do not hit me." before he gently placed a hand on her shoulder.
"I wont," Zara smiled and stood straight up, then walked out of the ring for some water. "I'll be near your level soon... maybe."
Lasky watched her go in silence. "You are getting better.." he commented.
"Not hard ta imagine, when you're a flag officer with nothing but paperwork to do in the mornings," Zara spoke with a frown. She missed her center chair a lot.
Lasky followed her in silence as Jake and April both watched in silence.
"You and Shen helped me get a my life back," Zara spoke appreciatively. "...Means a lot, Tom."
"You did most of the work yourself Zara.." Lasky responded. "And I will always be there for you.."
Zara hugged him in that moment. Emotional, given all she had been through. Though she hid her face in his chest so they had a private moment.
