Mission: Mission 43: Acts of Contrition
Location: Various Locations - USS Roanoke
Timeline: 1000Hrs - October 4th 2391

Karryn walked up to the bridge and found Aerin under one of the tactical consoles, prompting her to ask, "is there an issue."

Aerin, with only his tail sticking out, replied, "Yeah there is a wiring short in the console, I'm trying to fix it now."

Karryn nodded then added," So you remember that incident several months back where Hakaya got her fur singed off, and Gyce putting her in the brig started up a shitstorm with the crew."

"Yeah what about it."

Karryn gave off a small smile, "well thanks to that and a few other cases, the issue is snowballed, and now the federation is on fire. There is now a massive argument going on regarding nudity laws across the whole federation, and man, the argument is getting vile."

Aerin shook his head but didn't get out from under the console," You know, I really kinda miss the Akurian confederation now, we didn't have massive arguments over such stupid issues that shouldn't even be an issue in the first place."

Karryn looked up at the tactical display which showed the surrounding space, and next to Roanoke was the Akurian battle cruiser Ryazar's shield. "Well we do have 131 million metric tons of sovereign Akurian territory sitting next to us."

Moni went up to the bridge, clad in naught but her fur as she smiled. "Well this is interesting." she commented as she stepped off the lift. "Whats going on?" she inquired, clad in naught but her fur.

Karryn looked over at Nasao, noticing her lack of clothes and commenting, "Oh, hey a sensible Caitian, I see you have come over to our side now."

She held up a PADD. "The argument, at least for Caitians has been resolved." she explained as she handed the PADD off to the first Akurian within reach. "So... now all Caitians have the option to wear as little as possible... Its not to not have to wear clothing to preserve others over bloated sense of morality but... Well that ends now."

Aerin climbed out from under the console while Karryn commented," You know, I could never figure out why starfleet and the federation took issue with Caitians not wearing clothes, yet didn't take issue with either Eeiaouans, Akurians, or Shiar."

Nasao simply shrugged. "Who knows... humans always have been prudes.." as she blinked her large eyes. "So... other then my new look... what are you guys up to.?" she inquired.

Aerin brushed off his fur before answering, "Eh, just servicing the tactical console." He then added," Though us Akurians, and Shiar for that matter, we technically still have to groom yourself to cover certain body parts."

"Trouble with it?" Nasao inquired as she blinked her large eyes.

Aerin looked over at the console, "Yeah, Just a wiring short."

Hakaya and Ryuukei then walked onto the bridge next, and upon seeing Moni, Ryuukei commented. "Wait, aren't Caitians one of the furry species actually crazy enough to wear clothing most of the time.

"We generally are... most of the time." Nasao responded evenly. "But only because others tend to be of the prudish type." her smile seemed to grow. "I am what you could call a social butterfly.. I'm going to spread my wings so to speak...."

Hakaya just sighed while Karryn commented, "Yeah, humans, Bajorans, Tellarites, and a couple others, all the prudes. Though I wonder what it is with Caitians they see as different from Akurians or Eeiaouans. I mean for Akurians anyway, they simply require us to groom our fur in a manner that covers it." She then glanced at Hakaya, whom currently did not have her fur groomed in that manner, " Well, until one of us decided to not follow it for some odd reason."

Hakaya shrugged, "Who knows, who cares, people like that don't even know themselves because of their lack of common sense."

Nasao chuckled softly, it came out as a soft hoofing sound. "Its because we look more human then the average.. Our ears are smaller and the fur is shorter." she then shrugged. "Everyone has their various grooming habits... It don't matter to me in the least."

Karryn rubbed the back of her head as she looked over Nasao," Well, from what I can tell, the only thing that really stands out for you is the lumps of fat on your chest."

Nasao nodded her head. "Yeah well... they don't serve me any use really other then the fact they... just sit there.." she then shrugged. "So for now.. I'm going to experiment and see where it leads me.." she paused. "Its colder then I'm used to."

Aerin then added," Well, your fur is shorter than it should be because wearing clothing can cause your fur to thin out more than it should. These furless species don't understand that for us furry species, wearing clothing can thin out our fur and even cause it to fall out, so it really inst all that healthy for us. However in your case your fur should thicken out over time as long as you keep at what you are doing."

Nasao slowly blinked her large eyes as she took in what he was saying. "So... just keep doing what I'm doing and eventually, I'll get used to it... its colder then I'm used to."

Aerin nodded, "Yep, your fur will start to grow out to compensate for your lack of clothing now, it should take a couple of weeks."

"Sounds good to me." Nasao responded as she considered her next words. "I feel... liberated."

Karryn glanced at Hakaya then looked back at Moni adding, "Well, at the very least, April Yamaguchi managed to secure some new regulations that completely excepts all Akurians of any species from being penalized by any indecency laws on any federation starship or installation whatsoever. So we no longer have to bother with covering our reproductive organs any more, which i find liberating, because I'll be honest, grooming my fur just right to cover my vag can get tedious at times."

Moni Nasao shrugged. "I aim to spread my good looks with the crew." she responded.

Hakaya then said to Aerin. "Hey I'm taking the kids in for their medical checkup, Ryuukei will come with me."

Aerin nodded, " Alright," as Hakaya and Ryuukei left the bridge.

Meanwhile, in sickbay. Sokanon walked through the door in naught but her fur which she had brushed out for the occasion, so she looked rather different. "So... anyone got work they need me to do?"

Master Warrant Officer Julian Davis looked her over. "Hey Sokanon.... I did get your name right... right?"

Sokanon turned her head before she came over to the new guy that she didn't know. "Yes.... and who are you... pray you tell me?" as she began purring happily at him.

"I'm Julian Davis.. I was supposed to check in..."

Flight Captain Heather Davis regarded the Caitian all but hitting on her husband rather potently, a smile gracing her lips. "Yes... I think Nalla can spare you.... if you want my husband I mean.."

Sokanon smiled. "Mmmm..."

Davis sighed softly as he regarded his wife. She thought this was all highly amusing.

Windspirit walked in next and quickly noticed something different about Sokanon, "Um, Sokanon, did you forget something this morning."

"Oh, Hey Windspirt... No.. I actually didn't." she responded. "Is your party over?" Sokanon's whiskers twitched. "I mean the party of the people who don't need to wear clothing.... Caitians no longer are required to wear clothing... ever.." she sighed happily. "I feel... free..."

Windspirit blinked in confusion then answered," Well, I guess its about time then."

"Well everyone else who wears fur gets all the fun and my poor species is left out in the cold..."Sokanon responded with a soft purr. "Now I can wear naught but my skin and judging from the reactions of the male crew... " Sokanon simply shrugged. I'm apparently wanted by many... Werner will be so displeased.." she shrugged. "Not that I mind... seeing male humans walk into walls and doors is worth it as I walk by."

Windspirit sighed and shook her head," humans can be so immature at times."

"I know... Its great.." Sokanon responded cheerfully.

Windspirit shrugged," Well I guess some caitians probably wont get used to it so quickly, but I'm sure your not the only one whom is jumping for joy."

Meanwhile Hakaya came in with Kiyuo and Yavi, with Ryuukei following. Hakaya commented," Hey guys, I'm here for my kids medical checkup."

Sokanon noticed a tricorder on the floor so she bent over to pick it up, only to notice a few people looking at her.

Windspirit picked up on the staring from a few men, then looked at Soakanon, noticing that she was flashing, "Um, Sokanon, your showing off."

Sokanon stood rather quickly. "Oh..." she turned her head. "Move it along guys.... shows over." she softly growled.

Hakaya and windpirit both noticed they where a little slow to move out, causing hakaya to growl loudly then hiss," Get out!"

They quickly exited sickbay. Hakaya then turned to Sokanon, "A note of caution here, because this is also the case with Kurokuri, Your fur will work very well at covering your vagina from the front, but if you bend over like that you will show it and your butthole off to anyone whom happens to stand behind you. Now granted, personally, I don't give a single shit of anyone see's mine, but I know that you probably have different standards than I do."

Ryuukei sighed," At least on an Akurian ship nobody gives a damn about stupid things like that."

"Lovely." Sokanon responded. "Thanks for letting me know..." she added quietly as the door opened and in walked the largest person in sickbay. Galiaan Fordring regarded Sokanon. "People giving you a hard time?"

"Something like that..."

"Ahh.. Well.. if all else fails, then just wear your medical smock, that way nobody can yell at you or... see things they don't need to see." she then smiled. "Besides.. you look good in naught but your fur."

"Thanks... I... I think.."

Hakaya crossed her arms while Ryuukei added, "Hey she isn't kidding, your leopard like fur pattern is quite pretty, I don't know why you would want to hide it."

"Its the cultural bullshit we've been fed since we were younglings.." Sokanon explained. "The Federation is human dominated.." she paused. "Its time that ended."

Ryuukei, Windspirit, and Hakaya all Nodded, then windspirit commented, "Yeah, and I remember the huge shitstorm that happened when Hakaya got her fur singed off, the mess that came from that."

Hakaya's fur stood on end, and she gave a low growl as her claws came out.

Sokanon blinked her eyes. "Oh yes. I remember that one."

Ryuukei looked puzzled, "OK I think I missed this one."

Hakaya and windspirit looked at each other, then Hakaya was the one to explain," Well, it happened about six months ago, We where in engineering when they where installing the new computer core. Well it had been left outside for a little while so there where a few wasp nests in it. some dumbass, I dont rember his name, pulled out one of the computer sections, sprayed bugspray at the nest. Well there just so happened to be a shorted out sparking wire and that caught the spray on fire. Unfortunately me, or rather my crotch, as well as Uldyssian Davis happened to be in the line of fire. My crotch fur got singed off, Davis lost his shirt."

Ryuukei Shook his head barely holding back a laugh," Oh wow, that's retarded.

Sokanon nodded. "Oh just wait.... It gets better... Go ahead.. tell him.?" she commented to Ryuukei and Hakaya in that order.

Hakaya continued, "Well unfortunately Lt Gyce, whom just got on the ship at the time, didn't like the fact that my vagina was out and visible, she used some piss poor excuse that it would harm the children or something utterly moronic like that. Unfortunately she threw me in the brig for that and my memory gets kinda hazy.. after.... that...." Hakaya's voice trailed off.

Ryuukei got a worried look on his face as he could tell it wasn't Hakaya's fondest memory.

After a minute of silence, windspirit added," You know, its funny because if you where Eeiaouan, the humans wouldn't care."

"Why's that," Hakaya asked."

Windspirit sighed," Well, because our vaginal anatomy doesn't look similar to a humans, ours is a good bit different, where as with Akurians and Caitians, your vaginas look quite similar to human ones."

"Yep." Sokanon responded. "So... Gyce arrested Hakaya for indecent exposure... That started an truly unholy shitstorm with a third of all the women aboard ship, in the brig... Hell even the Fleet Admiral got arrested, she had a great old time.."

Ryuukei just shook his head, unable to really say anything. It was then that windspirit added, "Hey Sokanon, so in the future, if you do have to bend over to pick something up, remember, you do have a tail, just keep it down and you will be fine."

The taller Caitian female nodded as her tail moved almost on its own accord to wrap around her left leg which it often did when she was in uniform.

Hakaya then decided to add. "Well Sokanon, it may be kinda rough now, but since all us Akurians no longer have to bother grooming our fur so that it covers our junk, hopefully most of the people in the battlegroup will get desensitized after a while and learn to quit staring."

"Well we will find out sooner or later." the Caitian female responded.
