They've Moved On

Mission: Mission 42: A House Divided
Location: Various Locations - Battlecruiser Ryazar's Shield
Timeline: 0900Hrs - September 24th, 2391

Ryuukei walked into Ryazar's Shields command center as the ship dropped out of FTL near their target system. Looking at Weyai, he asked, "What do we got Weyai."

"Its definitely our system alright," Weyai replied, not looking up from her console. "can't really tell if anyone is still there on the planet though."

Ryuukei nodded then hit the Comm system," Ryuukei to Siaxx, we are here."

Siaxx's voice came back. "Understood.. I am on my way." as the small Bolian quickly donned her uniform jacket from where she had left it as she tugged on her boots and out the door she went.

Siaxx came onto the bridge a minute or so later, adjusting her uniform jacket. "Talk to me Goose?"

Ryuukei pointed at the 3d Display, "We have arrived at the planet in question."

Siaxx regarded the world. "Okay... is anyone present here?" she inquired.

Ryuukei shrugged, "Not really sure, our sensors are having difficulty with the planets upper atmosphere, Its probably why they chose the planet. But then again, our sensors aren't as precise when it comes to scanning for lifeforms as federation sensors. We will have to fly a shuttle and some drones down for a closer look."

"Alright... Do you need me for any of this?" the small Bolian inquired.

Ryuukei nodded, "Well, actually, yes, since you can speak the language."

"Okay... so we're going down to the planet?" she inquired. "I'll go get my gear."

Ryuueki nodded and began to gather up several others. About 20 minutes later ryuukei was at one of the Shuttles in the back of the ship, with Varkon, Teval, Josef, Hakaya and Abbado already waiting.

Kameron Yamaguchi along with his wife, Elizabeth were also waiting as Siaxx entered the shuttle, as soon as she did, the door sealed behind her. "We're all here?"

Kameron Yamaguchi nodded. "Yep." he answered.

Ryuukei closed the shuttle doors while another Akurian, a Sehkeen Leokuri sat in the pilots seat. No one really said much as the shuttle left the hangar bay with a pair of drones following. It took only minutes for them to reach the planets atmosphere where the drones began to scan the surface. Ryuukei had a rough idea where their settlement was the last time they went there, and directed the drones to the general location. It didn't take them long to find evidence of the settlement, however ryuukei grew concerned when the drones picked up no signs of the species.

"Set us down near the main settlement," Ryuukei said to the pilot. The pilot nodded and they brought the shuttle down near one of the settlements. Once they landed, Ryuukei opened the door, saying to the group, "Well, lets take a look."

Siaxx stepped off of the shuttle first as she produced her tricorder. "Alright guys... lets do this... spread out, establish a perimeter." she said before she moved forward slowly, keeping most of her attention on the ground. "Don't look like anything was here recently."

After a few minutes of searching Ryuukei came across the settlement. Most of the buildings where stone construction, with wooden roof's. However some of the roof's where collapsed in, and the buildings look like they hadn't been inhabited in decades. Looking inside the buildings,, there was very little inside. the odd abandoned table or chair, but that was about it. Ryuukei commented over the comm," Looks like this place has been abandoned for a while, at least a couple of decades probably."

"Okay." Siaxx responded. "So.. we have some idea of where they were... any ideas on where to now?"

Ryuukei shook his head, "No idea now, I'm out."

"Lets look a little deeper... see what we can find that they left behind.."

Ryuukei explored the abandoned settlement rather extensively, while Teval looked in the surrounding woods. Varkon checked the other side of the settlement while Abaddo and Josef looked in the fields south of the settlement. after over an hour, none of them where able to turn up anything.

Kameron meanwhile almost tripped over something large, he turned as he regarded the latch of grass, he then went over to where he had tripped, taking the time to be careful before he found a chunk of metal. "Hey Teval.." he yelled before he began digging at the grass, within minutes he uncovered a large manhole cover. "Well... this is... different."

Teval made his way over to where Kameron was, with Varkon arriving shortly afterwords. "Huh, nice find."

Elizabeth came over with Siaxx.. "What...Oh.." Siaxx commented before Kameron regarded the manhole cover. "Anyone got a prybar.?"

"Wait.. let me look and see whats beyond it.." Elizabeth did a quick scan. "Nadda... just the uusal..." she explained before handing it to Siaxx.

"Okay.. Varkon, would you mind terribly?" Siaxx inquired.

Varkon quickly found something that he could grip on the cover, then casually pulled it free.

Kameron watched as the few bugs in the area began scurrying away as a rodent blinked it massive eyes before it too, departed.

Ryuukei was the next one to come over, and upon spotting the open manhole cover, commented," Oh, so who is the unfortunate whom is going down there."

Varkon shook his head, "No way I would fit."

Kameron Yamaguchi nodded. "Me." he responded quietly. "I'll go."

Siaxx regarded Elizabeth as she gently shook her head. "I'll go with you." as she regarded the pregnant woman before her. "Elizabeth, you're staying here.."

"Okay." the taller woman responded as Kameron looked down before he took one step off and promptly vanished from view, before landing a moment later. "Its not bad down here." he called up.

Siaxx followed him down a moment later. "Anyone else coming down?" she called.

Ryuukei shrugged and followed them in, then curiosity overcame Hakaya and she decided to follow as well. Teval decided to hang around above, since he had only one hand he knew he would have difficulty climbing back out. So he decided to stay with Varkon and Elizabeth.

Elizabeth tried not to fret over her husband going down below. "Alright... let's find something for the rest of us to do while we wait,." she paused. "Leave two people here and everyone spred out, see what else we can find... if anything?"

Kameron wielded his rifle as he moved forward slowly. "Anything?"

Siaxx had her sidearm in one hand and her tricorder in the other. "Not seeing anything. no lifesigns or power signatures.."

"Okay.." Kameron resumed his forward advance. "Hey... found something.." he entered into a larger room which looked like a data storage center or maybe a command center, the door was wedged open and there was a large table at the center of the room, the room was split into four sections, all facing the table with three teirs to the room, lots of consoles scattered around. "Anything Siaxx?"

"No... no power at all." she paused. "Could we restore this place using the systems from the battlecruiser?"

Ryuukei shook his head, "Not likely, I rather doubt that their systems are compatible with ours. Besides, we have no way of getting power from the ship down here, its not like we have a power cable long enough to do that."

"Alright.. I guess we will have to do it the hard way then..." Siaxx said. "But without power.. this whole exersize is academic."

Kameron shook his head. "Maybe not... we just need some light.." as he began looking for a decent light source. "Lets see..."

Ryuukei brushed some dust off of the old equipment while Hakaya commented," A lot of this stuff looks pretty old, it be a miracle if it would still run."

Ryuukei looked around the room," Well I'm not really seeing a lightsource, not yet anyway."

Kameron looked around, one eye on where he was going while the other on his tricorder. "Lets see..." he paused. "I found something... but I need power. Merde!"

Ryuukei came over with Hakaya and took a look," Well, I have no idea if our power cells will be compatible."

Hakaya looked at Ryuukei and added," Aren't you an energy manipulator though, and a pretty good one at that."

Ryuukei nodded, "yeah but I'm not sure how much good it would do in this situation."

Yamaguchi knelt down as he yanked his pack off of his back, he then opened it as he placed his flashlight on a table nearby before producing an energy cell. "Lets see.." as he activated the cell before looking around. "Help me with this.." he commented. "See if you can find a location that looks like a charge station..."

Ryuukei looked around the area until he found a wall panel. Opening it he found what looked like a circuit breaker box, " Well, I have found this."

"Good enough.." as Kameron came over, his gear in both hands as he set about scanning it. "It is somewhat compatible.. but the power cell would need to be tuned down for it... otherwise it'll explode." he paused as he made the needed changes then he gently inserted the power cell for lack of a better option.

Ryuukei shook his head, "why is everything in this galaxy so sensitive to exploding."

"No comment." Kameron responded quietly as he smiled before activating the system, suddenly the lights came on as he smiled. "Ahh."

ryuukei looked up at the ceiling where the lights came on. Only a few of the lights seemed to still function, most appeared dead. "Well, I'm kinda surprised that actually worked."

Hakaya located what looked like a computer terminal. " Well I think i found a computer."

"Can you hack into it?" Kameron inquired as he finished adjusting the power cell. "Got it.." he added a moment later before coming over. "Mmm... I wonder..can the universal translator handle this?"

Hakaya nodded," I can try, but I don't really know the language."

Yamaguchi nodded his head. "Alright... Anything we can download...that we can take back with us... I know it'll keep the hot Bolian happy." he said, referring to Siaxx before he opened his tricorder and went to work downloading whatever he could get his hands on. A minute or so later, the tricorder beeped, indicating its memory was 'full' while Kameron tapped his combadge. "Yamaguchi to Dvald. Siaxx... I need your eyes on this."

"I'm on my way." the Bolian responded.
