Mission: Mission 41: The Changing of the Guard
Location: Various Locations - USS Roanoke
Timeline: 0930Hrs - 11th August, 2391

Lt Commander Siaxx Dvald sighed softly as she held the PADD in her hands, her transfer had come through a few days ago and now she was finishing the last few items on her to do list before she handed command over to Nalla as her successor.

Phoenix had already been moved over to the Tranquility's burn unit along with a few other wounded that remained. Also many of the other wounded were now over on the Starbase, being tended to by the base medical staff.

Siaxx sighed a second time in as many minutes. "Lets get this overwith." she said quietly to herself. "Na-" was as far as she got before the door opened and in walked Teval. "Hey.." Siaxx greeted Teval. "Whats the matter with you?"

"Off to the Tranquility?," Teval asked.

"Once I finish the last of my business here. Yes," Siaxx answered. "What's on your mind?"

Teval just sat down in one of the chairs, arms crossed, his rank badge showing the extra pip, "Your the third one to leave today."

"Wait... What?" the small Bolian inquired. "Maybe I better have the story from the beginning?" as Shonax hopped up onto her desk, he regarded Teval as he greeted the new skipper... "Rrraaaoowww.."

With his one good hand, Teval gave Shonax a rub between the ears, "Well, Torilla and Zara are both gone. According to Nechayev, Zara has resigned her command and commission. As for Torilla, even Jake doesn't know where she went."

"Wait... Torilla is gone.." Siaxx paused. "I should have seen that one coming.. I guess it was inevitable though.." the small Bolian sighed softy. "Do you think Torilla resigned her commission and departed?" she paused a second time. "I guess its possible considering everything that's happened to her.." as she regarded Teval. "She nearly lost three children on this ship and a forth almost became a criminal... Elizabeth violated her mother to save the twins... something Elizabeth never got over."

Just then the door opened and in came Elizabeth Yamaguchi who was now about four months pregnant. "Hey Siaxx... Teval.." as she had a duffel bag over her shoulder. "I came to say goodbye."

Teval looked over at Elizabeth, "You too huh. Do you have any idea where Torilla went, she isn't assigned to this ship anymore."

Elizabeth shook her head. "No Idea Teval... Mom didn't say anything to me...I didn't even known she was gone..." the taller woman looked distressed as she tapped her combadge. "Yamaguchi to Admiral Yamaguchi... Dad, what happened to mom?"

"No idea sweetie.. she seems to have vanished into the mists of space and time.." Jake answered in a rather dry tone of voice.

"You have no idea either...?"

"Nope..and I'm looking for her, believe me... This is not like your mother.."

"Okay Dad. Yamaguchi out." as she tapped her combadge again before turning to Teval. "I'm heading off to Dreamcrusher. Kameron is going with me... him as their deputy Chief Conn Officer and me... as one of their Doctors.."

Teval just nodded without saying much," Yeah."

Elizabeth smiled down at Siaxx. "Well we should still be able to work together." she paused. "I'd best be off.." and with that she turned, she walked out in silence.

Siaxx turned back to Teval. "Seems everyone is leaving."

Teval gave a soft sigh, "Yeah, both me and Hakaya where about to as well, that was, until Nechayev promoted me to captain and put me in command of Roanoke."

"Lovely." Siaxx responded. "So... Zara is gone too?" she paused. "Ding Dong, the Demon is dead.."

Teval raised an eyebrows, "Yeah, she is gone, are you actually happy about that."

"No... not really," Siaxx responded. "But I'm determined to have a good day so I will... even if it kills me."

Teval nodded, "Ah, well hopefully your new command goes well."

"I hope so too." Siaxx sighed softly. "Nalla is taking over as CMO with Galiaan as her deputy... Anyone who messes with Nalla is going to get crushed underfoot.... which... I find quite appealing actually."

Teval nodded, then asked, "Mind if I have a little chat with her."

Siaxx nodded. "Go for it..." she responded, sounding a little confused as to why he would need her permission for anything.

Teval then stood up and walked over to Nalla's lab, and sure enough found her inside.

"Sir," Nalla nodded respectfully as she looked up from her mircrotome scope.

Teval sighed, then said, "Please don't call me sir, my name is Teval. Well I figure I'd let you know whats going on, since you are going to be Roanoke's permanent CMO now. I'll be honest, I don't care what other people have thought about you, but as far as I am concerned, you are fully qualified for your position, and you're not going to be replaced just because you are not as sociable as other people. You have earned your position and as long as I am captain, I'm not letting anyone take that away from you."

Nalla's implants darted about in deep thought for several long moments. CMO was hers again, but at the cost of losing lab hours. Was she ready for that again? She did not know, but it made her feel good to know he trusted her abilities.

"That would be adequate," Nalla finally agreed. "I will brief the staff in ten minutes."

Teval nodded, then added, "Also since you are senior staff, its worth letting you know, Zara Tane has been removed from command by Admiral Nechayev. I suspect foul play here, but I don't have much on it right now. I know there probably isn't much you can do about it, but I prefer to keep the senior staff well informed as to what's going on."

Nalla nodded at this information but was not entirely sure why she was being told.

"I appreciate you notifying me," Nalla reiterated with a goofy grin. She had yet to master smiling.

Teval nodded and finished with, "Well if you need anything let me know." he then walked out of the room.

It took all of a minute before Nalla was able to figure out that Teval might of implied Zara could be in physical distress. Assuming she was taken, that was. Nalla began to page her senior medical staff to prepare for that eventual end.
