Chief Petty Officer Toshnarr was standing next to the bedside of Elizabeth Yamaguchi who was lightly dozing as he could hear two of the doctors talking about the repair work that Elizabeth's knee would need as the doors opened and in walked Flight Officer Kameron Yamaguchi.

He looked around before heading over to one of the nurses. "Hey, I understand that Ensign Elizabeth Yamaguchi is here?"

"She is, yes... She's right over there, see the big dude in green."

"Thanks." and with that Foehammer went over to Toshnarr who peered down at the smaller human expectantly. "You are Kameron Yamaguchi?"

"I am... yes. you looking after my wife Chief?"

"I am. Nobody gets to see her except family."

There was a soft mumble before a female voice spoke up. "Mmm... Who is it Toshnarr?" Elizabeth Yamaguchi's voice inquired gently.

"Its me!" Kameron blurted out before he could stop himself.

"Okay.. let him in... He and I need to talk..."

Toshnarr turned to Foehammer, but there was no mistaking the malevolent threat in Toshnarr's face. "If you upset her... You will answer to me... and I will make you pay for it..." he indicated the door. "you may proceed."

Kameron regarded the massive Gorn before him. "Okay Chief." he responded quietly as he tapped the door release, the door slid open as Kameron entered the recovery room, Elizabeth was wearing a simple but elegant nightdress and little else but Kameron noticed the hideous wound to her knee. "Elizabeth... "

"Hey Kam... I'm glad you came..." Elizabeth Yamaguchi responded quietly. "It's not as bad as it looks... really."

Kameron snapped out of his momentary reverie before he moved speedily to her bedside, he sat down beside her. "How ya feelin?"

Elizabeth reached over as she went for the glass of water, Kameron however beat her to it, he grasped the glass before gently placing it into her hands. "Easy Beth..." as she gently sipped the water. "Mmmm.."

Elizabeth regarded him. "I'm okay... I think..." she admitted.

Kameron felt guilty. "I should have been there... I should-" before Elizabeth interrupted him. "Not feel guilty for what happened Kam... You needed time to consider recent events....and so did I..." Elizabeth said softly.

Kameron gently took her hands in his. "It was two o'clock in the morning... I should have been more patient.."

"I tell you what... next time we have issues... let's discuss them over dinner in the Green Dragon.. over a nice Kansas city steak with some country fried potatoes..." Elizabeth responded with a soft smile.

Kameron smiled but it lost its luster. "Beth... we do need to talk though... I need to say what's on my mind and I need to do it now.... otherwise I won't be able to work up the courage to do this again..."

Elizabeth swallowed deeply as she regarded him. "You want to end our marriage?" she decided to go all in.

"No," Kameron responded quietly. "Had I been thinking more clearly... we could have avoided our mistakes and I could have avoided what happened... " he sighed. "I kicked you out and I avoided you for the better part of a week... I got angry at myself and took it out on everyone... Fives... was more patient then I deserved.."

Elizabeth listened as she watched her husband with a careful eye. "I made mistakes too... But I realized what you were trying to tell me... I am overly aggressive and I am intimidating.."

Kameron regarded her. "But I walked out... rather than help you resolve the issues you faced, I made you face them alone... I abandoned you..."

Elizabeth slowly placed her glass onto the table next to her bed. "I could have come to you sooner.." she sighed. "I made mistakes too Kam... It's not one-sided... we both made mistakes in this.." but she knew that her faith in him had taken quite a knock from this.

Kameron regarded his wife. "How's the baby"?

"Its doing okay... no thanks to Tienn... who stamped on my chest with her boot when I was down."

"I'm gonna fucking kill her!" he hissed softly as Elizabeth grasped his hand in hers. "No... Leave it be Kam."

"But she beat the crap out of you.."

"I know you Kameron... I know what you're capable of.... so I'm going to ask you..... please don't do it."

"but-"

"Please Kam." Elizabeth inquired. "She is not worth your anger...Let JAG handle things, besides... I'd welcome your company..."

"Okay... If it were anyone else..."

"I know.." Elizabeth smiled as she gently sat up, her nightdress hid very little of her body as Kameron sat down next to her, he gently slipped off his uniform jacket before he slipped it over her shoulders, she smiled as she inhaled his scent. "Mmm..." she rested her head on his shoulder as he gently slid an around around her. "How bad is the knee?"

"Kam... I may never walk again under my own power."

"Yes you will.." Kameron responded quietly. "We will get through this... same as we have every other time." he sighed. "I will never leave your side again... I'm Sorry Elizabeth... for everything."

Elizabeth slowly smiled as Kameron slid his arms around her torso as he gently hugged her. "I'm going to go get some gear and camp out in here."

"You don't have to."

"Your my wife, I'm been a poor husband and its time I started acting like my vow is good for something besides..." he gently kissed her lips. "You're worth it..."

Elizabeth softly smiled. "Alright..." she whispered.
