Mission: Mission 34: Between Two Fires
Location: Various Locations - USS Toronto
Timeline: 0615Hrs - June 26th, 2391

It was time and everyone involved knew it as Savannah woke up in the middle of the night, a sharp stabbing pain cutting through her like the way a wildfire cuts through an boreal forest as she gasped in agony. "Gabe?" she whispered in pain.

Gabriel's eyes snapped open as he instantly came to full wakefulness. "Savannah. You okay?"

"The baby..." she gasped as she tried not to curl up in a ball as she felt wetness around her in the bed, Gabe felt it too. "Sav... your water has broken... the baby.. they are on their way.."

"Yeah... god this hurts.." she whimpered as Gabe jumped out of bed and quickly began to help Savannah out of bed. "Easy..." he commented. "A good thing you never wear much to bed," he added. "Means less to deal with after the fact."

"Even now... you think of sex... God, you have such a filthy mind."

Gabe regarded his wife as he raised an eyebrow. "Well I was actually thinking of when you were due.. the Doctors would have less clothing to remove." as he slipped her dressing gown onto her shoulders while he pulled on his uniform undershirt and the pants. "I'll handle the bed... don't worry about that," he added. "Computer activate holonanny."

Torilla Yamaguchi materialized in the quarters before them. "Hello, I will keep Gideon safe, are you expecting company?"

"Yes, I'm expecting Torilla and Jake Yamaguchi at some point soon." he might as well prepare the holonanny, just in case. "Probably to check in on their grandson, do let them if they give you the correct code."

"Understood. It'll be done." Torilla's duplicate responded. "Your son is safe.."

Gabriel smiled at the holonanny, when he had first created the program, he had gone to see his mother and while she had been flattered at her son's request, she also saw the usefulness of such a program created in her image.

"You fit to travel?" Gabe inquired of his wife who stood barefoot before him, clad in only a gown.

"I'll survive... Let's go." and with that, he gently took her hand then out the door they went, down the hall and into a turbolift. Inside was Commander Elizabeth Woodville. "Hello, Lieutenants.... is all well?"

"Savannah is having her baby now," Gabe explained to the shorter woman who instantly cheered up

"Oh," Woodville responded. "Computer, override the previous destination, new destination is sickbay." as she regarded the two people before her. "The hardest part is behind you and ahead of you." Woodville smiled. "Soon it'll be over and your little one will be sleeping next to you."

"You have children, sir?"

"I do yes and I miss them," Woodville explained with a smile, the doors opened in the middle of her sentence. "Good luck you two." as she watched. "Need me to call anyone for you?"

"Yes. Could you contact Jake and Torilla Yamaguchi, both reside on the Roanoke, Mom is the Exec there."

"I'll do that." Woodville smiled. "Once I get up to the bridge." and with that, the doors slid closed as Woodville smiled to herself. "Bridge." as the lift sped towards its destination, meanwhile Savannah and Gabriel were moving down the hallway.

They walked into the sickbay as Savannah had one arm over her husband's shoulders. "Nurse!"

Two nurses came rushing over. One was a Bajoran male while the second was an Andorian Shen. "What's wrong?" one of them asked.

"The babies are on their way," Gabriel explained. "It's time."

Mancuso came from around the corner. "Oh you better believe it is... come on, we got you a setup ready to go." he turned to the nurses. "Tell team one that today is their lucky day, get them to gear up and be ready in five minutes."

"Yes Doctor." the Andorian Shen responded before she turned and departed.

"Doctor, how do you do it... I simply must ask.." Gabriel explained.

"I anticipate my needs, preferably before I have them to deal with, I saw Savannah was having issues with her impending delivery so I took precautions. This way guys..." and with that, a nurse brought a wheelchair for Seleste to sit down in, which she did so gratefully. "How far are you along?"

"Feels like a wave of pain once every thirty seconds or so," Savannah responded.

"So you were paying attention then to your Nurse then."

"Ensign James Madison should be commended Doctor, he taught us well, not to mention he made it fun and interesting to boot. Not many have that skill.... keep him around Doctor... you got someone with a brain there."

"I've heard that from others too." Mancuso led them into the delivery room as the nurses quickly and efficiently moved Savannah from the wheelchair onto the bed before they started getting her hooked up for the delivery, Gabe stayed out of the way as he gently stood beside her when they were finished getting her set up for the delivery. "Alright Savannah, you're looking good... you're about three-quarters of the way there... I can give you a mild painkiller but I don't want to give you a sedative, it'll cause side effects for the twins."

"I've endured worse Doctor."

"You can call me Bart, Savannah, I won't be offended..."

"Alright... Bart." she felt funny addressing him by name and not by rank or as 'Doctor.' as she concentrated on delivering the twins.

Meanwhile, in the main sickbay, the doors opened and in came Commander Torilla Yamaguchi, a smile on her face as she was wearing her uniform. "Hello. I understand a pregnant woman came in here not long ago.?"

"Yes, Lieutenant Savannah Yamaguchi and her husband, I assume you are Torilla Yamaguchi?" the second nurse inquired with a smile. "You are expected sir." she indicated the door. "go on in.... will anyone else be coming?"

"Jake Yamaguchi will be along, he got delayed with the twins wanting a bedtime story...."

The Andorian nurse smiled. "Alright, I'll be expecting him. as I said, go on in."

Torilla smiled as she went over to the delivery room, the door opened at her approach, she entered as she moved speedily to her son's side. "How is she?"

"I'm okay... more or less.." Savannah gasped. "I'm managing."

Torilla, in response, reached over as she gently rubbed the younger woman's shoulder. "We're right here sweetie... did you decide on names?"

"We did... more or less," Gabriel admitted.

Savannah sighed. "Uhh..." she gasped in pain as Mancuso checked her. "You're doing great Savannah... you are now fully dilated... " Mancuso gently placed a hand on her other shoulder. "Whenever you're ready sweetie... go ahead and push..." he smiled warmly at her.

"Okay." Savannah gritted her teeth as she did exactly that, several pushes later their first child, a daughter emerged as Mancuso gently grasped her. "Congratulations Savannah, Gabriel... it's a girl" the nurse added. "your daughter is now a separate being." before Mancuso returned to deliver the other one from its mother, moments later the second being was out. "It's also a girl," he added a moment later.

Gabriel smiled, tears streaming down the face of the new dad.

Torilla gently gave her son a hug. "Congratulations sweetie." she smiled as the door opened and in came Jake Yamaguchi. "Hey... am I late?"

"No Dad, you're right on time... to meet your newest grandchildren," Savannah responded softly.

"Yeah..." he paused. "Savannah... names?" Gabe said to his wife as she delivered the last of the childbirthing material, the placenta which one of the nurses gently removed and disposed of. "Mom, Dad... meet Arlene and Nicole Yamaguchi." Savannah commented softly. "with Dakota and Torilla as their middle names."

Torilla smiled as she fought off tears of her own. "Thank you."

Everyone involved knew that Gideon had Jake's name as his middle name so Torilla was getting her turn now before Mancuso spoke up. "Alright... Let's get Savannah here into a real bed so she can have a good nights sleep. Lord knows she's earned it."

Jake nodded. "Where are we taking her?" he inquired. "I'll carry her."

"Recovery room one, Admiral," Mancuso responded.

"Call me Jake, Doctor, you helped my grandkids with being born Doctor."

"Alright, Jake... Call me Bart." and with that, the two men shook hands before the nurses nodded. "Whenever you're ready sir."

Jake gently slid his hands and arms under Savannah's legs and her upper back. "Easy sweetie. I got you," he said softly. Savannah blinked open her eyes. "Oh, hey Dad." she blinked sleepily. "It's good... to see you."

"You too sweetie. Don't worry about the kids, your husband has them in his arms."

"Okay." Savannah nodded off in her father-in-law's arms as he gently placed her on the bed before the nurses gently tucked her in, Gabe gently placed the two small infants in their bassinets which someone had already placed in here. "Thank you, Doctor." Mancuso turned to the younger Yamaguchi as he shook hands with him. "Your welcome Gabe. Congratulations, they are beautiful babies.."

Torilla regarded her son. "Do you need anything from us.?"

"I need to go home and clean up the bed... Savannah's water broke while we were asleep."

Jake and his wife shared a look. "We'll handle it. You stay here and get to know your little girls..."

"Alright." and with that Gabe gently hugged his mother and father before he settled in to watch over his wife and children while the three of them slept.

Jake and Torilla departed sickbay amidst the various people offering congratulations and well-wishers. "Brings back memories..."

"Yeah... I recall when all three of ours were born.." Torilla explained. "Now they are off having kids of their own." she smiled. "for an outcast, I did well."

"Yes, we did." Jake smiled. "you got outcasted because some asshole didn't like you seeing an alien."

"My home is wherever I go, not some overly polluted planet whose species is dying... our family will live on even after we die.." she shrugged.

"Yes, it will.." Jake responded. "So... we clean up for Savv and Gabe and make sure their little one is in good hands."

"They never said where Gideon was." as they entered Gabriel and Savannah's quarters, it looked more or less clean and neat as the holonanny approached. "Who are you?". Torilla raised an eyebrow as she regarded herself. "Nice of Savannah to create a duplicate of you."

"I am Torilla Yamaguchi, mother to Gabriel Yamaguchi and grandmother to Gideon Yamaguchi," she responded to the holonanny. "Family code is Fox Fox one." as her duplicate smiled. "Welcome Torilla, I have been expecting you."

"I'll bet..." she responded. "Jake and I wanted to spend time with our grandson.

The door opened as Gideon slowly walked out, yawning. "Hey!" he then charged over as he greeted his grandparents, Torilla gently picked him up. "Heya Sweetie... you're parents are down in sickbay but they are alright.... they asked that I take you with us... you okay with that?"

"Yay!" Gideon cheered.
