Mission: Mission 17: The Drug-Dimmed Tide
Location: Various Locations - USS Roanoke
Timeline: 0830Hrs - December 15th, 2390

Teval walked onto the bridge behind Captain Olmo's with Luhanna following him. He wasn't sure just what kind of shitstorm was about to fly between Olmos and Zara, but he didn't envy Zara's position, and he wasn't going to get involved either. So he said to Olmos, "Zara is waiting in her ready room, though her condition is still quite bad."

"I appreciate you taking the time to answer my questions, Commander Vakar," Olmos spoke in parting.

Teval then went to Master Chief McKnight, saying, "Ok master chief, your good to go." As he watched Olmos enter Zara's ready room.

McKnight nodded. "Fair enough sir." he responded. "Do you need anything special of me before I go?"

"Nope," Teval replied," But you don't need to call me sir all the time either."

Orthos chuckled softly. "Fair enough Teval." and with that he turned and walked off of the bridge.

When Captain Olmos entered the ready room of Captain Tane's, she had expected to find a spotted woman with a speech impediment from numbed muscles... Which she did. But what caught Olmos off guard was seeing Tane trying to button and unbutton her pants to no luck. It was sad. Like a child that needed its mother to help them.

Drool occasionally fell to the floor and then there was this odd, occasional drag of Tane's left foot. The part of her that blamed the smaller woman for Nalla's state, had to suppress a laugh. And once Tane realized Olmos was in the room, her brown eyes went wide and panicked. And she tripped over her feet in an attempt to run for cover under her desk.

“Ffffuck,” Zara whimpered, with drool coming out of her mouth as she tried to crawl under her desk.

Only when a polished black boot stepped in front of her face, did Tane realize she was cooked. She was going to die.

“I sowy! I sowy!” Zara repeated several times in a labored panic and flinched when she saw a clenched fist reach low for her. She tried to squirm away but stopped when Olmos yanked Zara by the right bicep to stand. Then zapped her with a hypo, using said clenched fist.

“Muscle stimulant.” The elder woman just shook her head and waited for Zara's panic to ebb away before she sat down in Tane's desk chair. “When you have a good series of lies webbed, you may begin.”

Zara spent the first five minutes in silence. During this time, she enjoyed pursing her lips and making odd faces. It made her want to never take for granted her ability to stick her tongue out or blow raspberries at people, for sure. Then she rotated turns skipping on one foot for a very similar reason. And once the glee of having the numbing lifted, faded, Zara unbuttoned her fly once more, in front of Olmos, and properly put her pants on.

“You know I trusted you when I sent her to your ship,” Olmos began with a sour purse of her own lips. “You assured me she would not be in any danger.”

“She wears the uniform,” Zara shrugged simply, then plopped on the couch as if Olmos was not bothering her. She almost continued with that train of thought, but then she realized she could say any word with a double-you in them. So she sat in a very happy, dazed moment of euphoria before she added, “Wow... Why would Will wank weenies?”

“Captain Tane!” Olmos spoke with a raised voice. “I want to know why the fuck my daughter had to call me to help her because you were smuggling Klingon hooch in the fucking vents!”

Teval, with his feline hearing heard that one quite well, and as he looked around the bridge, and judging by their reactions, they all heard it as well. Teval simply said, "Well, I'm glad its not me."

Moni Nasao blinked as she heard the rage and yelling through the door. "Tell me about it... " Nasao whispered. "She is extremely... fucking... pissed.."

“I was not smuggling,” Zara spoke with a nervous laugh. Fearful of being mind-fucked into believing she was a capuchin for the rest of her life. “...I was stockpiling on a really great deal of cigars and Rear Admiral A'Bol wanted to perform an inspection. So I had to hide them... And just sorta forgot which vent I hid them in.”

"So no remorse at all over chaos you caused?" Olmos asked incredulously.

Zara's immediately reaction was an eye-roll. "Of course I'm sorry. But no one seems to want to accept the apologies I dish out. So why bother anymore?" Of course, that stab was more pointed to Jacen, but Olmos did not know that.

“You're unbelievable.” Olmos shook her head in a controlled rage. “I gave you some top-rated medical personnel, due to my having high priority on picking them... You're ungrateful in every way.”

“What do you want from me?” Zara spoke rather angrily. “In the last four days, I was poisoned by my own hand, numbed by your daughter – Twice. And I had crotch itch that would not go away without the guy that gave me crotch itch, to get the antidote... If you're looking to punish me, please do so and leave me be.”

"What I want is for you to fight for your people and keep fighting for them, even when it seems HQ gives you the shaft," Olmos spoke angrily.

"I do fight for them!" Zara finally yelled back. "I've a pregnant woman as XO who isn't having a great pregnancy. And I have to stay up all night holding her hand when she has a nightmare."

"That's one out of what? A thousand people you're helping?" Olmos spoke crossly. "The morale on this ship has sunken to a new low -"

Zara interrupted quickly, "And here I thought the hooch really made them soar."

Olmos ignored that remark and just glared at Tane for a very long moment. It was too quiet. So quiet, Tane pondered if Olmos was getting ready to mind fuck her.

“Your problem Captain Tane, is that you're convinced you have no allies in the fleet to help you. And you burn the ones that do, instead of having a rational conversation with them when shit goes wrong,” Olmos finally spoke reproachfully as she stood up from the office chair and prepared to leave the room. “...Because you're afraid you'll be great at command. Like Zeth was. You don't want to step out of his shadow. And for that I pity you, for you have great potential.”

“So we're done then?” Zara spoke forcefully.

“Not quite,” Olmos insisted and walked over to the couch and sat beside of Tane. Her dark eyes were piercing. “If not for you, Nalla would be in her mother's hands by now. I'm sure of it. And that is the only reason I am not reporting these shenanigans. But I will not cover for you, forever.”

“I never intended for my stash to burn through the ship,” Tane finally said as Olmos got up and headed for the door.

“I'll have your supplies beamed over by tomorrow morning,” Olmos spoke in parting.

Zara hid her head under her pillow on the couch. Glad to still have her mind intact.

Teval heard every word that Olmos had said to Tane, and needless to say, he felt that burn. He couldn't even look at Olmos as she left the bridge.

Moni Nasao winced. "Oooh.." she moaned softly as she looked at the tactical display as she tried not to listen and failed dismally.

Luhanna Wintersnow raised an eyebrow. "Wow... its not often I feel raw emotion quite like that..." she commented to everyone around her. She turned to Teval. "Remind me to never piss that woman off..."

Teval simply nodded, "Yeah I'd have to agree."

Several minutes later, Tane stuck her head out the door. Like an alerted meerkat, that knew a predator was close.

"Is she gone?" Tane finally asked.

Teval looked around the bridge, just to be sure she was gone, then nodded, "Yeah, the scary lady is gone."

Zara nodded at that, then straightened her posture before she walked over to her chair and plopped in it. Then she sighed for she did not want to do what she had to do.

Tane hit the intercom and cleared her throat. "Tane here... Just wanted to say I was an idiot for the chaos. No excuses. But I am truly sorry... That is all."
