Mission: Mission 16: Hoist the Colours
Location: Various Locations - USS Roanoke
Timeline: 2215Hrs, December 11th, 2390

Boomer was watching the various fights, clearly impressed and highly entertained by what he was seeing. "Okay... Ironhide and Gonad. you two are up against Phoenix and Firebird."

There was a soft grumbling sound as Ironhide responded. "Confirmed Boomer. we're on it.." came the distinct west Texas tone of one Tony Raynor.

Rachael smiled. "So...Phoenix... looks like its Gonad and Ironhide against us.." he grinned under her mask.

"Gonad thinks he's a big tactician. He'll gun for you first. But he's a shit dogfighter. You have a tighter line than he does with your turns, so don' bob and weave so much with him. Barrel roll and bank and let him pass you, if you can. That should put him in your Crosshairs," Phoenix spoke quickly. "Ironhide is the one to worry about. So I'll try an' keep him busy and separate him from Gonad."

"Confirmed Phoenix." Firebird responded with a smile as she did a quick scan. "I have targets.. Mmm.... someone fired a missile." she added.

It was obvious the warhead wasn't tracking. "One warhead going mustang." Firebird commented before she acquired one of the two fighters before her target flamed the second bird, which was also before she lit off one missile that tracked straight and true which blew Gonad apart.

Phoenix could only laugh as Gonad's own warheads hit Ironhide by mistake. Friendly fire. It truly made Phoenix forget about all her problems, to witness such stupidity.

"Same plan as before, I think," Phoenix laughed.

"Confirmed." Firebird responded. "Oh wow...." she added as Ironhide's voice came over the com system. "Gonad you fucking reject, that was me you blew apart.... whats the mater with you, get your ass in the game.."

Firebird watched as the system reset itself as the asteroids once again began their gentle twirl through space, she gently goosed her thrusters forward as a smile graced her lips. "Come out, Come out... wherever you are..." Firebird commented. "Hey out there.... I can hear you thinking.."

Firebird checked her display as she could see two fighters approaching her location. "Lead, two. I think I pissed em off..."

"Full barrage on three. You take the right one on evasives," Phoenix ordered, taking a play from Leadfoot's rule book. "One.... Two... Three!"

The pair of birds fired their warheads. All of them at the incoming pair. This forced Gonad's pair to split apart, which was a very bad idea. Because Phoenix tailed Ironhide with a splattering of phaser fire. Though Ironhide was bobbing too much to hit him.

"Ironhide is trying to turn toward Gonad. Get Gonad to do the same if you can bait 'em." Phoenix sounded very happy with this coming end.

"Confirmed..." Firebird responded. "You're dead." and with that she lit off two missiles which shot off after Gonad who turned and smashed into Ironhide, killing both of them. "Ummm Phoenix... do I get partial for that?" she inquired. "Or do I get two kills?"

"That's one kill for ya, and a negative for Gonad - Friendly kamikaze." Phoenix laughed, completely in hysterics at this point.

"Okay. I'm good with that." Firebird responded with a smile. "Setting up for the next mission..." she then smiled.

"Split 'em up this time. I'll tag Ironhide. You have fun with Gonad. Let's try for the same TKO strategy," Phoenix spoke while still laughing.

"Phoenix, it'll be a pleasure." Firebird responded with a grin. "Checking .... and here they are... aright where I expected them to be... I think Raynor is getting irritated though... he's pulling back..."

"I think we should hang back then," Phoenix snickered.

Firebird smiled as she checked her various systems. "Gonad seems to want me... and I'm too young to consent to such activity." the teen chuckled. "Mind if I show him what I think of him stalking my innocent body?" both Firebird and Phoenix knew that Rachael's comment was full of shit considering she was pregnant but Gonad didn't know that.

"I do think you have the right to deny him, yes," Phoenix laughed in kind.

"Ironhide doesn't seem to want to cover...wait." she watched as Gonad seemed to get disoriented and he turned and then killed Ironhide as Rachael sighed. "Phoenix... did I see that right?"

"Full barrage now!" Phoenix barked and fired all her warheads at Gonad, even nailing some asteroids in the process.

Firebird didn't hesitate as she let loose a full spread of warheads into the fray, nailing a few rocks but she helped Gonad find the path to Valhalla once again as the expected growl came over the com system.
"Firebird. you cheat... I'm gonna kick your little ass.."

Firebird's response was a smile. "Oh really... Fat Ass.... I'd like to see you try..."

Suddenly Raynor's fighter vanished off of the display as Firebird blinked. "Wait.. what..." then she noticed that Gonad's fighter started weaving erratically.

Firebird smiled as she subtlety closed to guns range as she proceeded to start blasting Gonad's fighter with her cannons. "You are mine..." Firebird stuck with him as he was making his various erratic turns, she dismantled his fighter but Gonad was either unwilling to reset or unable to reset so Firebird shrugged as she continued to blast away at him.

Meanwhile, Phoenix was laughing hysterically at Ironhide pounding on Gonad as she got out the sim cockpit. "Epic," she chortled.

"Phoenix," Firebird commed her flight lead a moment later. "Whats going on out there?" the teen inquired.

Ironhide meanwhile was now truly enraged. "You do not threaten a lady... asshole," as he was busy wailing away with his fists on Gonad's face and chest.

"Ironhide is beatin' tha shit out of Gonad," Phoenix cackled.

"I killed him a half dozen times myself..." Firebird commented. "Wow... this is hilarious.."

"I say keep firing until Boomer cuts it off," Phoenix continued to laugh. "Might get a dozen more at this rate."

Firebird grinned. "Confirmed." and with that she resumed blasting and was able to keep this up for almost another two minutes before Boomer finally called it. "Okay okay. I've seen enough of this shit... Gonad. I'm gonna start the paperwork to have you chaptered out... you're just dangerous..."

Gonad growled as he hauled form out of the simulator as Raynor backed off. "Back away nice and slow buddy.." Ironhide growled as he watched Gonad turned and stalk off.

Firebird cracked open her simulator as she poked her head out. "Cool."

Meanwhile Boomer's voice cut through the air like a knife through butter. "Guys... Camshaft will fly with Ironhide against Firebird and Phoenix. Last set for you two... "

Phoenix climbed back in her sim after taking a huge swig from her water bottle. Then she opened up her com to Firebird. "Defense only. Let them come to us."

"Copy that." Firebird smiled. "Ironhide is on the far right... wanting to flank me... Camshaft.... is coming for you." she commented as she gently goosed her thrusters forward as she watched the targets move before she popped up and launched off two missiles before Firebird ducked back behind an asteroid.

There was a white flash as Firebird called. "Ding Dong, the Demon is dead.." she called.

Phoenix clicked her acknowledgement as she began a series of weaves and dodges around some really tiny asteroids. She concentrated heavily for she knew Ironhide would have her marked. But keeping him off her would be a bit harder.

Firebird checked her systems. "No sign of Ironhide."

Meanwhile Ironhide was running silent as he checked his systems before he popped up and fired off two missiles at Phoenix. "I got you.. now." then he goosed his engines up to full power.

Firebird almost missed it as she had been looking the wrong way as she swung her fighter around as Ironhide missed Firebird. He chased Phoenix as he fired a second set of warheads at Phoenix before Firebird got a good solid lock as Ironhide got killed by Firebird. However Phoenix got killed by one of the missiles from the second launch, leaving Firebird as the last one standing.

"Good teamwork, Firebird," Phoenix praised as she reset her screen.

Firebird smiled. "Thanks." before she likewise reset her screen, then she went hunting. the second fight was sorted out by a missile barrage from Ironhide, Firebird fired off several rounds of her own as she killed Ironhide but she fell to Camshaft who was killed by Phoenix.

The third fight was also a missile barrage launched from everyone but this time, everyone fell to it. Firebird called out. "Game Over!"

Phoenix crawled out of the simulator and ran over to Firebird's hatch. At which point, she popped the top and hugged the girl. Almost like a proud mother would.

"You did very good, Rachael."

Boomer's voice came over the com "Alright guys. lets take ten minutes and cool off.. Firebird... I think you earned your flight status now..." he called as Firebird hugged Phoenix back. "Thanks Phoenix... that means a lot to me, coming from you.."
