Mission: Mission 98: Building Our New Home
Location: Lasky Quarters - Starbase Vanguard
Timeline: 2100Hrs - June 20th, 2393

Captain Tom Lasky smiled as he finished putting his younger son into his crib before he activated the monitoring system, just to ensure that Nigel got a good nights sleep and he got some peace of mind, knowing that nothing unexpected would happen to either of his sons. "Sleep well little guy." and with that, Lasky turned and walked out of his son's bedroom. Lasky then retreated into the master bedroom next to the main bathroom where he knew that his wife would be taking a shower. Most of the time, she liked to be left alone and now was one of those times. As much as Lasky would have enjoyed having sex with his wife in the shower, which was how Nigel got his start in life.

Lasky sat down on the bed before he began removing the clothing he was wearing except the underwear he was wearing, he sighed softly as he began to fold his clothing, then he placed it at his bedside.

Had Plataea desired it, she would have dropped him the usual hint but she didn't and so he decided he would respect her space by letting her shower in peace. Lasky sat down on the bed as he settled in to wait for her, he knew she was a formidable telepath and that didn't bother him but any time he wanted to surprise her with anything, was a major challenge but he still succeeded every now and again. Besides, it wasn't that she didn't appreciate the effort or the work he sank into his surprises like their first anniversary with Lasky going all out on their dinner, after dropping their two sons with a babysitter.

The door opened and out came Plataea wearing a towel around her waist and one around her neck, she regarded her husband as she smiled. "Tom. Fancy meeting you here." she greeted him with a smile.

"Hey, sweetie. How are you feeling?" Lasky knew that she was dealing with the usual pregnancy issues. It was much the same as when she was pregnant with Nigel.

"Well, They tell me this one might be a girl." Lasky smiled at her husband. "So. Names?" she inquired.

Lasky raised his head. "If its a girl. Elizabeth."

Lasky began drying herself off. "I had expected that one and I know why," she added before she sat down next to her husband. "Your relationship with her is complicated and complex."

"I gave her my word," Lasky answered in a gentle tone. "After all she endured on Kurt's behalf, and mine... I was less than hospitable to her, I scared her and her husband reacted poorly." he then sighed softly.

Plataea regarded her husband, she knew all of this already but she knew that this was deeply personal for him so she held her silence. "You have feelings for Elizabeth.." she commented, a gentle smile playing at her lips, she knew this detail and what was more, she also knew why Lasky had feelings for a woman who was her daughter.

"I do," Lasky answered with a sigh. "Having feelings like that for my best friends daughter." Lasky left out a soft sigh. "She's young enough to be my daughter." he suddenly felt really dirty suddenly.

"Hey. I never said it was a bad thing." Plataea gently placed her hand on his husband's shoulder as she smiled. "Besides. You just have really good taste in women," she added, with a grin a moment later. "There is no shame in that," she added, with a wide smile.

"I had not expected you to say that." Lasky sighed softly, he had been expecting the usual routine.

"I know," Plataea whispered softly. "But I know how you feel of her. Would things have changed had you impregnated her at the same time as her mother?"

"No," Lasky answered. "I would still have offered to raise the child she carried but then I might have lost Kurt as Torilla would have aborted. I don't know how things would have gone. I know Kameron would have been angry with me regarding matters, either way."

"I'm not so sure. I was at the center of the Pineapple Incident and believe me. I remember all too well what happened. Jake very nearly impregnated me the way he did with Nalla." she paused. "I'm not sure how that would have gone but I do know that Jake is a real man, he would have let me make the choice and offered to help me with the little one. Gods, I hope Torilla realizes what she has because if she does not then I'm going to yell at her for it."

"To make matters even worse. Nalla didn't even give Jake a chance to be a father to her child." Lasky sighed. "I've never seen Jake that angry. Even Torilla was shocked by what happened.." he sighed softly. "I kept wondering what was Jake going to do on the matter... He did nothing and I was surprised." Lasky paused. "I still am, I've seen Jake in every mood you can imagine from happy beyond words to downright enraged, but never broken, he looked like he wanted to die but. I'd never seen that looks on his face. The look that said he'd quit." Lasky paused. "It still haunts me."

"I was waiting for Jake to try something stupid," Plataea admitted. "The Jake I knew was.. was an animal." she paused as she let out a pregnant sigh. "I didn't even know Jake then. I didn't know April and she became pregnant too." she simply shook her head at that one. "The April Yamaguchi in this reality is something else, I knew her only as a monster, an abuser but here, she has a husband who worships her and a small army of children including one she adopted.."

Lasky nodded, this was another sore point for him. "Raymond Durden. Quick-Blast's son. Quick-Blast was a good man, made a lot of mistakes and fumbled his career into the gutter but." Lasky paused as he felt a surge of emotions. "Fuck." he paused. "Ahh dammits!, Quick-Shot deserved better than to die in the hangar deck fire." Lasky still had issues with his friend dying that day and of all the others who fell too.

"Its okay," Plataea answered in a gentle tone as she gently gave her husband a hug, still waters often ran deep and Plataea knew that at times she would never see the bottom of them, but what she did know was that Tom took every single loss of any one of his pilots very personally, what was more was that she knew he still had nightmares about that event, in his dreams, he could still see them, in his soul, he could hear them and in his nightmares, he could feel them.

"Raymond will grow up with a good family who loves him, the younger siblings love having him around or so I hear." Plataea smiled at her husband. "Would you have taken him in.?"

"Yes. I would have." Lasky didn't hesitate. "Only Franklin got there first. Jake Durden would have been flattered to know that his son was this well taken care of." Lasky smiled. "I know Elizabeth still has nightmares about the hanger fire, she was the one who did all the triage, she decided who lived and who died."

"That's quite a burden for someone deeply connected to that crew," Plataea answered with a soft sigh. "Ouros would have had no issues with it, she would have done her job and moved on." Lasky regarded her husband as she spoke.

"I'm not sure of how I feel about that. being honest Plataea." Lasky admitted in a quiet and soft tone.

"Ouros is not Elizabeth." the pregnant female smiled as she regarded her husband. "Don't ever confuse them, Elizabeth has bigger breasts, I think they suit her," Lasky added.

Tom Lasky smiled despite his mood before he stripped the towel from his wife's chest as he started to gently run his fingers over her skin.
"Don't tease me," Plataea commented with a smile. "You might not like it."

"Oh, do you're worst," Lasky responded as he regarded his wife, with a feral grin that had just appeared on his face.

Lasky smiled as she proceeded to jump on her husband, pushing him onto his back before she kissed him on the lips. "I'm going to make you enjoy this," she said softly.

"Well, come on then." Lasky goaded his wife as she simply grinned. "As you wish."
