The Gamorrean Two-Step - Part Seven

Mission: Mission 106: Restitutions and Resolutions
Location: Various Locations - USS Heart of the Tiger
Timeline: 1000Hrs - October 19th, 2393

Standing within the turbolift, Yamaguchi-Cullen smiled. "Halt turbolift at the next exit," she commented in a soft tone. The lift obliged her as it came to a halt and the doors opened, she emerged a moment later before she stepped off to the left as the doors closed behind her. She smiled to herself as she allowed her mind to reach out to find her children, she felt herself seeing the entire ship from the outside before she found Olivia and Anthony, both taking a nap in the ships daycare, she gently touched their minds, both young and untainted with bad experiences or bad memories, almost as fresh as newly fallen snow.

'Hey guys, mommy's here.' Yamaguchi-Cullen gently sent to her children's minds, she felt Anthony gently touch her back in response while Olivia slept on before her second daughter touched her mothers mind a moment after her brother. Yamaguchi-Cullen grinned as she felt her children touch her back in turn before she set off mentally to seek her other children, coming across Daniel, who was in the ship's kindergarten. He would not feel her touch and so she moved on, finding Sarah in one of the ships holodecks, in swimming practice. Sarah had grown about an inch or so since Yamaguchi-Cullen has last seen her but it was easy to see that this child was developing into a woman, she had curves that she never had before, Sarah was going through puberty and nearby was Saki.

Saki was wearing a simple black singlet that did more for her looks than anything Rachael could do with her eyes, or her hair. Yamaguchi-Cullen knew she was looking at something of a reflection of how she had looked when she was Saki's age.

Yamaguchi-Cullen touched the elder child's mind with her own. 'Hey, sweetie. Mommy's here!'

Sarah was at the side of the pool, along with the other dozen or so students as she suddenly turned her head. "Mom?" she asked softly.

"Sarah, is something wrong?" the coach inquired in a gentle tone of voice.

"Don't take this the wrong way coach... But I thought I heard my mother for a moment..." Sarah answered as Saki nodded. "She's here, on the ship... Now..." she added.

"How could you two possibly know that?" The Coach inquired.

"Because mom is telepathic, so am I," Saki explained. "Sarah is psionically sensitive. Meaning she can eavesdrop on chats mom and I can have." Saki explained with a nod.

"Alright girls, anyway... We're going to try to swim a couple of lengths. See how you all do." the coach said, to gain the attention of his charges.

Yamaguchi-Cullen's connection to Saki was terminated as the swim coach was demanding and the girls needed their focus on their class and not on her, as she started for her home again. Yamaguchi-Cullen paused as she requested the directions for her husband's quarters. The computer obliged and off she went, reaching her destination a few minutes later, finding out that Ennis was not a bad housekeeper but it was clear that multiple children lived here.

Yamaguchi-Cullen went into the master bedroom as she slipped the bag off of her shoulder and onto the bed, the bedroom looked clean and tidy but Yamaguchi-Cullen did not care overly as she opened the duffel and produced the items within. She moved to the dresser and found one drawer empty so she replicated for herself the various items she would need, underwear and socks which she filled into the drawer which Ennis had left her.

Yamaguchi-Cullen departed her new bedroom a moment later, she heard a soft growling sound as one of the Savannah cats regarded her in silence. "Chill kitty, it's just me..." she commented softly before she went over to the replicator and ordered two sets of feline supplement sixteen, the one Saki had always ordered before she and everyone else was parted from her. She placed the two bowls down onto the table and both cats moved to investigate the dishes.

Yamaguchi-Cullen then departed her new home, her next stop was sickbay, where she arrived a few minutes later, she moved over to the main desk with her orders in hand. "Hello. I am here to see the Doctor, he is not expecting me." as she produced her orders. "The Exec decided my husband did not need to know that I'm here."

The young woman at the front desk regarding Yamaguchi-Cullen in silence. "I see... Alright, if you would like to take a seat on one of the biobeds, I will inform Doctor Cullen that our new pilot requires his attention... I will not mention names." she added.

"Thank you Chief, you have been most helpful," Yamaguchi-Cullen answered before she went over to a biobed and took a seat, while she waited for her husband.

Seated in his office, was Doctor Ennis Cullen, he was not smiling and he wasn't in a happy mood because there was no shore-leave while they were being stuck here on Vanguard, he simply had to go out to the lounge and see the Starbase, his wife could be out there wondering why there was no leave, much like himself, all he wanted was a few hours to spend some time with her but Commander Bishop had rejected his request, citing that he was needed here and they would be resuming their patrol as soon as their resupply was completed.

The nurse knocked on his door. "Doctor, our new Chief of Conn is here for her coming aboard physical."

"Thanks, I'll tend to it in a moment." Cullen ruthlessly pushed away the emotions that being so close to his spouse and not seeing her could elicit from him, he forced them back into the darkest corners of his mind. He could almost feel her arms around his torso, her kisses upon his lips and her gentle touch against him, at odd hours. He missed his spouse deeply and he did not care who knew it. "Do you have her paperwork?"

"I do, it should be in the system in the next ten minutes." The nurse answered as Cullen rose to his feet. "Alright, I'll go meet and greet the new girl... Why can't they give that job to my goddammed wife..." he growled before he could stop himself.

"I dunno sir." the nurse answered diplomatically. "I was never asked these questions," she added.

Cullen sighed. "I'm sorry nurse... Let me go meet the new girl..." as he snatched his medkit off of the shelf, the strap got hooked on something but Cullen yanked on it with such force, the strap snapped in two places.

The nurse knew her boss was angry, he was not the best to deal with on most days, he was usually tired but she had never seen him lose his temper like this. "Doctor?"

"I'm fine," Cullen answered quietly. "Let's get this done," he added quietly as he departed his office.
