Mission: Mission 98: Building Our New Home
Location: Various Locations - Starbase Vanguard
Timeline: 1500Hrs - September 10th, 2393

Captain Rachael Yamaguchi gently slid her lithe form into her office chair as she took a moment to enjoy the sensation of being off of her feet and that she could sometimes sit down, the memories of having Borg implants running through her body were having lasting effects, while her present body had been cloned from a few tissue samples of her original body, her mind had been moved thanks to some Akurian medical technology, which had abilities even the Borg lacked, for this Rachael was actually quite grateful as she had very much wished to go on living rather than have her existence come to an end simply because her Borg technology was shutting down, thanks to differing power requirements. Now, thanks to all of the efforts that had been expended on her behalf, she was now a fully normal human female. She needed to eat, respire, go to the bathroom when needed and all such things as the average human female needed to tend to.

Rachael reached down and slipped off her boots, she liked the feel of her feet against soft carpet whenever possible. She tapped the controls at her desk, as the large monitor slid out of the desk, with a soft whirring sound, she tapped the display once. "Yamaguchi to Lasky.?" As she had expected, there were two responses. "Plataea, could I trouble you to contact Admiral April Dragon for me please, I would speak with her." something was unsettling in her tone of voice, she knew it and what's more was that she at times positively enjoyed it.

Tom Lasky answered. "I'll leave you two to matters at hand. Lasky out." and with that, he dropped out of the communications as the female Lasky answered. "Of course Rachael. Placing your call now."

Yamaguchi smiled slowly to herself. "Thank you," she answered.

"I have her for you. Routing the call down to you now." Lasky answered.

"Thank you, Captain, I will trouble you no further. Yamaguchi out." and with that, the com was silenced before the screen before Yamaguchi activated with the image of her old friend appearing on the screen before her. The younger woman before her was once a friend of Heather Yamaguchi-Johnson, her middle child but Heather had always spoken well of her, however, apparently the two had had a falling out a few years earlier and had not yet resolved their issues. "Admiral. I must bring a matter to your attention..."

"Okay Captain, What can I do for you?" Dragon recognized the woman before her, this was not something that was a major surprise as she had heard of the return of Captain Rachael Yamaguchi from the Borg and how she had been a Borg Queen. She, however, did not know much else as most of what he did know was classified for various reasons, all good and proper as far as Dragon was concerned.

"You can resolve my personel shortage Admiral." Yamaguchi decided that blunt was the order of the day, she knew that Dragon preferred directness and being blunt so she would do so. There was no need to beat around the bush on this or any other matter. "I guarantee that you know if it, considering you have six reports from me, all filed within the last two weeks, all saying the same thing..."

Dragon nodded. "Yes, Rachael. I did read the reports but you are not the only command that needs people and I have sixteen others all demanding people off of me, I only have a small number to go around and I'm waiting for more from Starfleet Operations and Starfleet Personel to assign me the needed people to handle the matters of state here in the Taurus Reach."

Yamaguchi gave the other woman a rather grim look. "I was wondering if you had even read any of my reports..." she paused a moment. "Besides. I am told that you stonewalled Admiral Lasky so now you will deal with me... and while you might outrank me... I can open doors that you might not. Would you like me to whisper a few words into someone's ear for you.?"

Dragon regarded the other woman, a look of surprise on her face. "Y'know, I heard you were back... Still, have no respect for the rules?" Dragon inquired of the other woman before her.

"No," Yamaguchi answered in a bunt tone of voice. "I never have, the rules were what got me assimilated in the first place..." Yamaguchi answered evenly. "So I will make my request in plain English... I need more people. My command is not combat capable, and nor is it mission capable. I need another dozen commanders for the smaller ships, I need another several hundred people for the crews... I regret using this tone of voice with you but I am left with little choice on the mater, I tried respect and then I tried reason and then logic... Now I am trying force. You do not wish to see my next step, young lady..." Yamaguchi explained. "I was asked to resolve this... I said I would and I will see it done."

Dragon sighed, another call with someone bitching at her for their needs. "I will do what I can for you... But I am waiting on replacements and Starfleet Command is assigning me precious few..." she paused a second time. "But I will do what I can for you, and... Would you mind telling Heather I said hello..."

"That's all I ask," Yamaguchi answered the first part of her response with her own. "I will tell her the next time and I speak..."

"Alright, Dragon out." and with that, the message ended. Leaving Yamaguchi to sit in a darkened office, as she picked up a PADD and began drafting another message, this one would do more than simply anger people but Yamaguchi calculated a thirty-two percent chance that someone would call for her transfer and a twelve percent chance that someone would call for her resignation, Yamaguchi resolved to press ahead with said message as she dismissed the odds as irrelevant to her cause.
