This Land - Part Four

Mission: Mission 104: Saturn's Children
Location: Commanding Officers Ready Room - USS Kronprinz
Timeline: 0845Hrs - September 4th, 2393

Fleet Captain Coral Antilles-Yamaguchi was a woman of many hobbies and interests, she smiled as the doorbell beeped at her while she was presently sitting in her ready room, working on her paperwork for today's drills. "It's open!" she called out in a loud voice. The door opened and in walked a Bolian female wearing an Admirals uniform. "I'm Sorry I'm late Captain," Vaxx-Warfield explained herself as she moved through the door, PADD's in hand.

Colonel Lee Antilles was sitting on the sofa, he looked very comfortable as he simply smiled, but opted to not say anything.

"Its fine Admiral, Lee and I were just discussing another matter that we felt we should bring to you as soon as possible, it does affect the operating of this ship over the next week or so, assuming you approve." Antilles-Yamaguchi explained as she gently cleared a space on her rather crowded desk for the Admiral's three PADD's "Thanks... What's going on?" Vaxx-Warfield inquired as she sat down. "My feet are killing me..."

"Long morning Admiral?" Antilles inquired from the sofa.

"Very, these boots are also old... My Children think it's amusing to hide my new boots on me and I was rather pressed for time." the Bolian female paused as she simply kicked off her boots. "By all the gods... Why can't Starfleet design a decent pair of footwear for their personel is simply beyond me."

Antilles-Yamaguchi smiled, she knew exactly where the Bolian was coming from. "I hear you, Admiral, a good soak in the tub helps me most days," she admitted. "Some bath salts and a muscle relaxer also tends to help," she added.

"So what's your big issue that you want me to sign off on." Vaxx-Warfield inquired. "It must be something serious otherwise you would not mention it so easily." the Bolian added.

Antilles-Yamaguchi picked up a PADD and she handed it to the Bolian. "Its adoption paperwork for two Klingon children who are part of House H'ruS, they are the last of their house." she paused. "Their cousin is married to my daughter and she explained their plight to me last night... Lee and I want to take in these two girls and give them a good home," she explained.

"Sounds simple enough... This can be approved quickly as you both are serving Starfleet..." The Bolian responded evenly. "I don't see what the issue is?"

"The issue.. is I need to divert the Kronprinz to go to Korvat directly. I expect that paperwork to be approved within hours... As you said, both Lee and I are serving members in Starfleet of good standing with excellent track records. We've also had children in the past so we know what we're doing."

Vaxx-Warfield nodded, processing all of the news before her. "Okay so instead of running to the original destination for your shakedown cruise, you want to change your destination to Korvat, if this is approved." she inquired.

"We do, Admiral..." Antilles commented quietly as he was sitting on the sofa, across from the Bolian. "Will this be a concern?" he added.

Vaxx-Warfield regarded the human male before her. While she considered it in her head. "Actually, No..." the Biolian answered. "Korvat is much further away... and you can run more drills and the like, going there and coming back..." she paused. "This could be a good thing in disguise."

Antilles-Yamaguchi slowly smiled. "So I have your approval to proceed then?"

"Yes Captain, You do," Vaxx-Warfield answered softly. A gentle smile on her lips as she nodded her head, she then tapped at the PADD in her hands before she handed the PADD over to Antilles-Yamaguchi. The human female accepted the PADD. "Consider your plan approved." she paused. "If that paperwork is approved." the Bolian indicated the PADD on the deck next to her. "If not then proceed to your original destination," Vaxx-Warfield answered. "Are there any issues with your new command?"

"Only among the crew, we've not worked together before so that's to be expected, it's not a really major concern though," Antilles-Yamaguchi explained. "Considering that I've been gone for that six-year time gap when the Sovereign was one of the most powerful ships available... and now the Sovereign isn't on active duty anymore." the human blonde shook her head. "My, have times changed." she let out a soft sigh.

"Well, it's not going to settle down anytime soon," Vaxxx-Warfield explained evenly. "The Ascension Class is being mass-produced along with the Odins. The Valhalla's are coming along as well. Starfleet's been very impressed with the classes we've deployed and they want more... Lots more." the Bolian female grinned at the human female with a gentle smile. "When do you leave the dock?" Vaxx-Warfield inquired of Antilles-Yamaguchi with a gentle smile.

"Two days from now, when the last of the Starfighters are delivered," Antilles-Yamaguchi answered. "At zero eight hundred hours."

"Alright, sounds good. I will be on hand to watch you leave the dock." and with that, Vaxx-Warfield rose to her feet and nodded. "Carry on Captain, I will leave you to it." and with that, the Bolian departed in silence.
