| Personal History | Coral Yamaguchi was born on August 10th, 2346, the second of five children of Dr Rachael Yamaguchi and then Chief Petty Officer Benjamin Yamaguchi. She was born in sickbay, on the USS Tecumseh. An older Excelsior class ship that her parents had been assigned to. It was on a warm August morning when Talon first saw the sky, it was dark with the stars scattered across the ferment of the cosmos, she would develop the love for the stars seen in all members of the Yamaguchi family. Coral grew up on Earth Spacedock, in orbit over Earth with the rest of her family as her father was assigned to the starbase while her mother was off with the fleet. This suited Coral and her family fine as she grew up, a happy child with two loving parents that adored her. Coral graduated high school in early 2364 and applied right away for Starfleet Academy when she was accepted. Coral decided to leave Earth and settle on Vega so she could attend the academy without issues related to the family. Coral's plans to study structural engineering, she would also take extra security classes while at the Academy. Coral loved her time living on Vega and she grew to love the heat. While she was at the academy, she received notice about her mother's passing during the fall of the fleet at Wolf 359, for Coral, this awoke something terrible within her. She was close to both parents, as were all her siblings and she took her mothers passing very hard. For the family, it was a very bitter blow and for Coral, it ripped out her heart but also set her focus on her main career in life, Starfleet as a Security Officer, partly to protect others and to also avenge her mother. She also sank very serious time into the martial arts that her siblings were interested in. Except she studied hard and sunk in hundreds of hours into her training during her first assignment. Many more thousands of hours would follow as she earned several multiple black belts in various arts. Following in Coral's footsteps was Talon who became a master and teacher but she couldn't hold a candle to the master of war that Coral became, in her anger, hatred, grief and rage. Coral graduated from the academy in 2368 and went off to her first assignment, she was sent off to Starbase 25 and here she would remain for several years. Building her career and skillset as she wanted revenge, rather then peace against the Borg for the loss of her mother. But in late 2370. Coral would find herself with a whole new enemy to face. The Dominion who saw trhe Federation as their blood enemy. In early, 2372, Coral decided she had spent enough time serving on Starbases, she decided she wanted to go out into the field. So she stuck in a request to do so, her request was granted and she was assigned over to the USS Warspite, a brand new Sovereign class starship that was just leaving the dockyards. With the threat of wartime hanging over the heads of everyone in the Federation, whether or not they were in Starfleet began to gnaw at Coral as she was assigned to the USS Warspite because she knew combat was coming and she wanted to be on the front lines but despite all the pre-war warnings they got the speed, strength and the raw power of the Jem'Hadar, it still came as a severe shock when they hit the Federation. The battle of the Rutharian Sector weeded out most the newbie security officers on the Warspite save her and she even took the Chief's slot when the Chief Security officer was wounded thanks to a Jem’hadar torpedo that landed just forward of the number 45th bulkhead. After the retreat from the Rutharian Sector, she was offered an assignment on the USS Orion, the result of USS Warspite being sent back to the dock due to extensive battle damage, The Orion fought in many of the major battles of the Dominion War like the 1st Battle of Vulcan with the USS Orion, demolishing many Jem’hadar ships to Operation Return, to the Vulcan and Bolian Fronts. She then transferred over to the USS Ajax under the command of Captain Sam Pike, a descendant of the rather infamous Fleet Captain Chris Pike and before long the USS Ajax's most dangerous mission came in late 2374 with the fall of Benzar, in preparation for the inevitable counter-attack by the 14th Fleet, the Ajax attacked the Benzar outer defence perimeter, demolishing a half dozen Jem'Hadar fighters before withdrawing with moderate combat damage, two hours later she came back with a half dozen tricobalt warheads ready that were used to demolish three orbital control stations and another two weapons platforms before they were brought online, the 14th Fleet arrived shortly, saving the Ajax from destruction as they crashed into the Dominion Lines, the attack itself was a failure because the Dominion sent another 80 ships to Benzar, however, this didn't hurt Coral any as she got to demonstrate her fighting talents for all to see because, during the fight, the Ajax was boarded. Coral earned the Pentaries Cluster as she helped save a Freighter loaded down with Federation Civilians that had been evacuated from Benzar during the fighting. It was here at this battle where Coral met her future husband, Lee Antilles. Their relationship almost didn't happen but he saved Coral's life and Coral saved Lee's life twice each during the battle. The two of them ended up in bed together and their relationship started right there, but neither of them knew it at the time. Coral was then reassigned to the USS Lionheart as their Chief Security Officer, the war was putting a premium on good troopers and here Coral would serve until the end of the war through various battles such as the Battle of the Three Suns, the Battle over Earth and the Battles of Getha and Cardassia respectively, alongside her sister Heather Yamaguchi who served and survived many of the same battles. Coral also since tied the knot with her longtime boyfriend and fiancee, Lieutenant Lee Antilles who was nicknamed Boomer for his bass voice that could sometimes turn into a loud growl when he was angry. With the end of the war came the end of combat duty for Coral Yamaguchi and in light of her war experiences, she was offered a tour of duty aboard the USS Crockett as she would embark on a two-year exploration mission in Beta Quadrant and as the USS Crockett arrived back at Earth, where she along with 27 other ships were summoned to deal with a Borg incursion, in all thirty-six ships would be on hand to help destroy a Borg Sphere and welcome home the USS Voyager. Also during this assignment was her kidnapping and torture at the hands of a species called the Narvians after the USS Crockett passed through an extremely stable wormhole into the Pegasus Dwarf Galaxy. During Coral's escape from prison, the was able to rescue a toddler which she would name Noel from certain death at the hands of the Narvian death squads before reuniting with her crew, it was her testimony that caused the Crockett to abandon the exploration mission and return to the Milky Way Galaxy. Coral would then pass Noel off to her sibling, Talon to adopt and raise as her own, to make matters even worse was that Coral didn't know she was even pregnant at the time before the embryo was taken from her, amid all of the torture that she had endured. Coral accepted a Transfer over to the USS Independence as the Executive officer since she'd spent the last few years serving on older ships and she wanted something new to remind herself that the Federation was not getting long in the tooth as she had sometimes suspected, she would serve here for three years and would earn the Sniper Certification badge as well as the Kragite Order of Heroism for saving a Federation colony from attack by a spaceborne lifeform. A Brancher was it was nicknamed but the Crystalline Entity was not an easy foe to face. Coral was next assigned to the USS Resolute as the Executive Officer and from her until her assignment on the USS Vindictive, where she met Fleur Mayweather whom she liked immensely, the two women easily got along very well and it showed in the ease at which they address the other, sometimes their addresses were way over the top but it was all in good fun and was never done on duty though. The two women ended up in bed several times and while their relationship was short, it was extremely passionate. Early in January of 2385 Fleur transferred to Starbase 165 and a few months later, Coral decided to follow her over, something new was always good. Later both women would transfer again, but this time they were parted for good. Coral was offered the first Officers posting aboard the USS Pegasus, but Coral was suddenly promoted to Captain before being offered command of the USS Pegasus when her previous skipper dropped his retirement papers. However during her ship's shakedown assignment, her ship and crew were lost at the hands of a pirate group, she destroyed all of her pirate attackers but her ship was presumed lost but was actually catapulted through time and space ahead six years into a whole new galaxy. To make matters even worse for her was that Coral went from being the second oldest of her siblings to the youngest, now she was younger than Jake and Lee which for her was a rather strange feeling, what was worse was the empty nest syndrome issues Coral began to face at about the same time. Coral was many things and she was almost ruthless in her pragmatism, so she decided to deal with her issues while Starfleet offered her a new command, the USS Kronprinz. A brand new type of Starship for her to deal with, she also adopted two young Klingon children and now she is also planning on having at least one baby of her own. |
