Mission: Mission 104: Saturn's Children
Location: Various Locations - USS Kronprinz
Timeline: 0930Hrs - September 4th, 2393

Captain Lewen Aloer slowly slid her lithe form into the chair facing her commanding officer's desk, she placed the PADD in her delicate-looking fingers onto the table before her. "Captain," she said in a light tone of voice, bringing the meeting the order as she regarded the human before her. "Is there trouble?"

"Just waiting for the master chief now.." the blonde human female paused. "How're things with you Lewen?" Antilles-Yamaguchi inquired in a gentle tone of voice, with a gentle smile on her lips.

The Cardassian woman had not been expecting the question and the look on her face said as much, she hesitated as she considered how to respond. She decided to simply come right out and say it. "I miss my husband and children," Aloer commented in a soft tone of voice. "Garry is presently raising them on Starbase Twenty Four..." she explained. "I miss their company." she paused a moment. "But this was what I signed on for, to be parted from them... I will make do, as will they."

"I understand." Antilles-Yamaguchi paused. "Though not for the reasons you'd think," she added.

"That six-year time-gap when you were listed as Killed in action," Aloer explained. "I read about that incident and I also read your mission reports. Fascinating reading." the Cardassian explained.

"Yeah, My sibling took my children in and Heather Yamaguchi-Johnson is presently raising them as her own." Antilles-Yamaguchi sighed softly. "She wished to return them but my own children do not know who I am... I will make do." she regarded Aloer as she spoke when suddenly there was a knock at the door. "It's open!" Antilles-Yamaguchi called a moment later.

The door slid open and in walked a dark-haired man with a lean look to him. "Captain, Captain." he addressed the two women before him. "I'm sorry I'm late, the discipline issue took longer to deal with then I thought," Attavan explained to the woman standing before him. "I could not recommend him for counselling so I had to deal with him myself... As we don't have a counsellor aboard at present." he slid his muscular form into the chair next to the Cardassian female across from him.

Antilles-Yamaguchi regarded the Master Chief. "The brawl in the lounge?" she inquired of the man before her.

"Yes, Captain." the Master Chief sighed. "Sixteen cases of brawling and all were arrested for the same charge, brawling with intent," he explained evenly.

Antilles-Yamaguchi sighed softly. "Idiots." she turned to Aloer as she smiled. "I will leave matters with our Chief of Security and not intrude on her domain," she commented

Aloer smiled. "Very wise," she answered with a nod of her head. "So what's this about a course and destination change?" the Cardassian female regarded the human with a rather inquisitive look in her eye.

"Yes. I asked the Admiral about this... She okayed it if my paperwork was approved." Antilles-Yamaguchiu answered by way of clarification. "Korvat Colony would be further away but would provide a more challenging route for the ship to overcome."

"Paperwork?" The Cardassian female inquired. "Is there something amiss Captain?"

Antilles-Yamaguchi nodded. "This is paperwork to adopt two Klingon children from the childcare facility on Korvat colony. I can argue that this is an unwise course of action."

Attavan raised an eyebrow. "Captain, I must ask... Are you not letting your personal feelings get in the way of the task at hand?." he kept his tone civil but there was no mistaking the raw surprise in his tone, or the incredulous look on his face.

"Yes, Master Chief. I am, very much so... I expect you two to fight me on the subject." Antilles-Yamaguchi answered. "That's why the three of us are meeting here and now... To deal with this... I am indeed violating various Starfleet rules and regulations because of my need to be selfish."

The Cardassian female smiled. "For being so honest... I will support you in the matter... Such brazen audacity can only be respected. I will not say I am okay with this... However, I will say that I respect this..." she paused. "Because you have been honest with me, I will support you."

"As will, I, Captain," Attavan added a moment later. "Since you want to extend the shakedown cruise of the ship... and the fact that Admiral signed off on the matter before us..." as he regarded the human woman before him. "Do you think this is wise Captain?"

"No," Antilles-Yamaguchi answered. "I know it's not..." the human female explained.

"Then we will support you," Attavan answered in a quiet tone of voice, he nodded his head in addition to the smile on his face.

Antilles-Yamaguchi lifted the PADD as she tapped "SEND" as she paused. "We shall see if this is approved or not... I expect an answer shortly." as a prompt suddenly displayed at the bottom of the message indicated it had been received. "Alright, let's focus on the mother matters before us."
