Posted on Fri Mar 20th, 2020 @ 6:06pm by Admiral Jake Yamaguchi & Lieutenant JG Rachael "Ripcord" Yamaguchi-Cullen

Mission: Mission 98: Building Our New Home
Location: Yamaguchi-Cullen Homestead - Utgarde IV
Timeline: 1810Hrs - September 5th, 2393

1st Lieutenant Rachael "Ripcord" Yamaguchi-Cullen emerged from her bedroom, wearing a pair of jean shorts and a tank top before she moved down the flight of stairs from the upper level, the evening was quiet and she knew it too. As she was a part of Starfleet, she had been permitted access to housing that the civilian population wasn't permitted access to, she was living alone on the base with a house designed for a family. Her spouse was assigned to a carrier that was presently on assignment out in the field, but what was worse for her was that all of the children that she had, were present with her husband, she was alone and she hated it.

Yamaguchi-Cullen was bored, it showed as she moved into the kitchen as she ordered her usual evening repaste, she lifted the plate in silence while she moved over to the kitchen table and began to eat in silence. The silence was incredible and it was also infuriating. "Computer. Play some music from my personal database, start from Alpha and work through the list, set volume at fifteen." she knew from her usual experience that the volume was not loud but it would be enough for her to sit back, relax and enjoy as she ate her dinner.

Yamaguchi-Cullen finished her meal as she half-listened to the music she had requested, she could easily have sung along to the notes had she wished but she didn't as she couldn't bring herself to expend the energy to do so. The boredom was mindnumbing and crushing.

Suddenly there was a knock at the door. Rachael blinked as she paused eating her food. "Computer, halt playback," she commented as she rose to her feet and went to answer the front door, all the while she wondered who would want her attention at this hour.

Standing at the door, waiting was Admiral Jake Yamaguchi who was wearing civilian clothing and his four Caitian kits, which wore nothing other than their fur. The four kits were two Cougars and two Snow Leopards, with long thick fur which kept them warm. H'Raal and H'Merr were both male Cougars and C'Rala and P'Rorri were both female snow leopards.

The door opened as Rachael blinked, finding herself face to face with her father and his other children who were adopted. "Dad, kits... come on in... I didn't prepare anything as I didn't know you were coming." she paused. "I can make you something if you want."

"That's alright, sweetie," Jake answered as he gently hugged his daughter. "We were in the neighborhood and we didn't tell you we were here," he explained his presence, the kits moved through the door as they all greeted Rachael one at a time. "Hey, guys." Rachael smiled. "H'Raal, you've grown... and P'Rorri, you didn't groom yourself again... didn't you?"

"I didn't think you could tell..." the young Caitian admitted.

"Most can't... but after spending eight years with only a few people, several of them Akurians. I've grown to notice these things..." Yamaguchi-Cullen answered with a smile. "I will not object if you want to take a bath to clean up sweetie," she added.

Yamaguchi regarded his daughter. "I hope you don't mind us dropping by like this."

"Nah, Dad. not at all," Yamaguchi-Cullen answered with a breezy smile. "Help yourselves to the replicator, if you've not eaten," she added.

The two snow leopard Caitians moved over to the replicator while the two cougars waited a moment. Jake regarded them both. "Go on, eat. You've not had dinner yet." Yamaguchi commented with a nod. "Don't make pigs of yourselves guys."

Yamaguchi-Cullen raised an eyebrow as she watched the four of them ordering their preferred meals, mostly roasted chicken with slabs of ham and sides of mashed potatoes with gravy. "That looks good," Yamaguchi-Cullen commented. "I stuck with pizza," she admitted.

Yamaguchi ordered himself a meal of pizza with a drink to wash it down before he went over to join the kits at the table. It was clear that her father insisted all his children e4at dinner at the same, as a family and this seemed to have not changed. Yamaguchi-Cullen resumed her seat at the table, now with her father and four caitian siblings, she could eat her dinner.
