Mission: Mission 103: The Rumblings of Discontent
Location: Various Locations - USS Solemn Penance
Timeline: 0800Hrs - August 25th, 2393

The time was oh eight hundred hours and Tolian Brevik walked onto his bridge with a large mug of raktajino in his hands. Brevik blinked as he felt the narcotic work on his system as he took his first sip, one could argue the Klingons were savages but they sure knew how to make good coffee. "Good Morning everyone." Brevik addressed his bridge crew as he spotted his Executive Officer approaching him. He nodded at him. "Malcolm, status update please?"

"Everything is status quo, we're heading for our patrol area without issues, we're presently maintaining warp two point four because engineering has made a request to do some work on the starboard nacelle, it looked rather routine so I approved it," he explained. Brevik nodded his head in agreement as it was important for him to let his officers do their job and not micromanage them. Had Walters felt it was important then he would have called for Brevik and asked his thoughts on the matter because he had not done so. It was not important enough to warrant bothering the Captain while he slept and thus Brevik opted to not complain about something trivial.

Walters regarded Brevik. "There was no update from sickbay regarding Commander Watseka. Hopefully, we'll get something soon."

"Indeed number one, let's hope so," Brevik answered. "Becuase I have a lot of unanswered questions and you know what I'm like about details left unanswered." Brevik sighed softly as he accepted the PADD from Walters.

"Indeed I do sir." Walters smiled evenly, he knew his watch was about to end unless Brevik sought something of him. He did not mind as he wanted to get to know his new skipper better but what he had seen of Brevik thus far, he liked.

"Alright, I relive you for the watch," Brevik commented. "Go get yourself something to eat and enjoy yourself, Commander, I'd say you earned it."

"Aye Captain." Walters turned and departed. "Commander Stark, where are we with the Engineering work?" he asked of the Orion female nearby who was wearing Engineering orange, she turned to face him and her skin tone was striking against the orange. "We'll be about six hours or so sir. Will that be a concern?" the large Orion female inquired with a concerned look in her eyes.

"No, I just wanted to know how long we'd be cruising slowly," Brevik commented. "Honestly, I wish I could park this ship somewhere, put the ship on automatic mode and give everyone a couple of days off... But we are needed and we got work to do." Brevik sighed.

Master Chief Petty Officer Gwen Adams regarded him with a cool look. "Command reject your request again?"

"For the eighth time, yes they did Master Chief," Brevik answered with a tone that could have melted and dried Andoria in one fell swoop but rather then complain about it endlessly, he decided to keep focused on his work. "Lieutenant De Witt." Brevik addressed the Assistant Chief of Security who was presently acting as the Chief due to Lindsey Watseka being incapacitated on the job. "Where are we with the investigation?"

"Well sir, we're still looking into the matter, we don't have any suspects as yet sir." De Witt answered evenly.

It was just then that the Vulcan female turned to address her commanding officer. "Oh?" she inquired evenly. "That's not what I reported to you Lieutenant," she said, in a flat even tone of voice.

Brevik turned as he regarded her with a rather bemused expression. "What do you mean Commander?"

"I mean that I reported what sounded like a fistfight in the neighboring quarters adjacent to mine. One hour and forty-two minutes ago to be specific." she regarded the assistant Chief of Security with an even look. "You did look into the matter right?" the Vulcan woman asked. "I was able to hear a great many things including what sounded like someone being interrogated... I contacted security and was told it would be dealt with, I was told this... by you, Lieutenant De-Witt."

Brevik was getting less and less amused by the moment. "Lieutenant, explain yourself.?" Brevik inquired in a neutral tone of voice.

"I opted to not bother you with the details Captain," De-Witt answered quickly.

"Lieutenant, I can see that when Commander Watseka recovers, she and I are going to have a long chat about the future of her department and your place in it, explain yourself... Why was I not informed that such an event had taken place aboard this ship, who are the people in question that are involved and where are they?" Brevik inquired, getting angrier by the second.

"Well sir.. I..." and with that, he drew his sidearm and blasted Brevik on heavy stun, everyone else on the bridge dove for the deck and out of the way as Stark finding herself also falling prey to a phaser blast.

De-Witt sighed as he proceeded to start gunning down the bridge crew, he tapped his combadge. "De-Witt to Shkreli. Downfall."

"We are not ready, you foolish idiot!" Shkreli answered in a hot tone of voice. "We need more time..."

"We have none, start the operation now, you fucking peasant or I'll come down there and do to you what you did to Watseka." De-Witt roared at the top of his lungs.

Adams made her move as she dashed at the security officer, diving at him and catching him unawares, while she grappled with him, Rosalie Avila went over to the science station where she began to work at the panel, she smiled as she began to isolate the computer core with a fractal encryption code as she knew that it was highly unlikely that the opposition would be able to brute-force a hack through the firewalls when she suddenly felt as phaser blast hit her in the back, her world went back as she dropped back to the deck.

De-Witt was able to throw off the small limbed human female who had attacked him before he shot her on stun twice, she dropped as De-Witt proceeded to start hunting down the rest of the bridge crew. Suddenly the turbolift doors opened and out came a half dozen Starfleet personnel, all of them were armed as they proceeded to start tagging the fallen and having them all beamed away to the brig in silence before taking the posts that the fallen had vacated.
