Personality & Traits

General Overview Adams is an unforgiving taskmaster. She is quite the perfectionist when it comes to her duties, and she expects the same of her subordinates. Though she seems quite stern, she does care deeply for the lives of her Security personnel as well as the lives of everyone aboard ship. But she makes sure that her personal feelings do not get in the way of her responsibilities of command.

Adams holds her Security personnel to the highest standards. She is a very strict disciplinarian and unforgiving to those whom she feels does not stay as committed to their duties as her. Definitely not afraid to mete out punishment to those who display any type of lackadaisical or disreputable behavior. I and other members of the crew have noticed that at times that she can be quite malicious, spiteful, or overbearing. She often times seems to be in a bad mood; irritable or cranky. I firmly believe that she obviously has some deep-seated issues that go back to her troubled childhood.

At the tender age of only fourteen years old, she killed a young man in self-defense when he attempted to assault her. After Adam's family had him arrested and prosecuted, the young man's family later sought revenge and had Adam's home burned to the ground. As a result, her father and younger brother died in the fire and her mother had to flee with her and move elsewhere. I believe much of her anger is a result of feelings of grief and survivor's guilt that she obviously still carries with her.

I still have concerns in regards to Ms. Adam's angry behavior and violent outbursts, but will endeavor to continue treating the patient despite her best attempts at dodging treatment.

Personal History Adams was born on Earth on the 2nd of February 2354. She lived in a rough neighborhood where crime was thriving. Her parents taught her how to take care of herself at a young age and she attended judo and karate classes at which she excelled. At age of 14, she killed a young man in self-defense who tried to assault her. The family later sought revenge and Adams's family home was burned, her father and younger brother killed. Her mother took Adams and fled the town and moved to San Fransisco. Adams finished school at age 19 in 2373 with average grades, much to the dismay of her mother. Before the assault, she had been a good student but ever since that event, her grades had gotten lower, but never to the point where she might fail. She had spent less time studying and more time on studying ancient martial arts to perfect her self-defense skills and find her inner balance. Julia wanted to leave Earth as the memories of the attack still haunted her. She applied for Starfleet training after she got out of school, much to her mother's grief.

Adam's time at Starfleet boot camp was interesting to say the least. Despite her average grades, when she graduated school at the age of seventeen she took the Starfleet boot camp entrance exam and somehow managed to pass. Shortly thereafter she said her goodbyes to her mother and left to attend the academy. She specialized in the Security field. Her training was cut short after roughly six months, in December 2373, when the Second Federation-Klingon War peaked.

The Federation was short on manpower forcing them to resort to having to use Cadets that were not yet even fully indoctrinated or trained. She graduated and was quickly shipped off to the front lines. Adams and many of her classmates were shipped off to the front. She and many of her classmates were assigned to the USS Achilles a Nebula Class starship. She seemed to have bad luck right from the start when the Achilles was damaged in a Klingon boarding action. Adams was wounded by a disruptor blast and bat'leth but survived. Adams was meritoriously promoted from Crewman Recruit to Full Crewman for her valor and gained a permanent posting on the Achilles as a part of the Security section.

Adams was shipped to Ajilon Prime where she received treatment for her wounds. When she was recovered she was temporarily assigned to the Security forces there. After Adams had made almost a full recovery, Klingon forces clashed with Federation forces. The Starfleet installation where Adams was assigned was subjected to intense bombardment. Despite the constant bombardment she didn't break down and flee, holding her position steadfastly. She defended the installation despite the horrific orbital attack. The Klingons eventually stopped the bombardment and Adams was once again reassigned and transported to the main Fleet.

The Dominion War, an interstellar conflict between the Dominion and the Federation Alliance consumes the entire Alpha Quadrant in one of the most destructive wars in galactic history. The Federation was short on manpower forcing them to resort to having to use Cadets that were not yet even fully indoctrinated or trained.

Adams was one of these troops. After the Battle of Ajilon Prime, she was reunited with her fellow classmates aboard the Achilles. But unfortunately, bad luck seemed to dog her yet again, as her ship got boarded by Jem'Hadar in a violent skirmish. She proved herself quite worthy as she received several wounds by Jem'Hadar blades but survived, killing her own share of enemies and repelling the enemy from Engineering deck. Unfortunately, most of her former classmates had died during this incursion. The Achilles was heavily damaged and had to be sent back to the Utopia Planitia Fleet Yards for repair. Adams was reassigned to the USS Ajax. Another Nebula-class starship.

The Federation-Klingon conflict was resolved when it was discovered that Klingon General Martok was a Changeling. Several months later, however, the Dominion gained a physical foothold in the Alpha Quadrant through an alliance with Gul Dukat and the Cardassian Union, arranged in mid-2373. They immediately began sending fleets of warships and supply vessels through the Bajoran wormhole and into Cardassian territory on a weekly basis. The Klingons could not stand against such a foe and withdrew from Cardassian space. The Khitomer Accords were put back into effect; war was inevitable, and only the Federation-Klingon alliance stood against the forces of the Dominion.

With the help of their Cardassian Union allies, the Dominion successfully captured Deep Space 9. In an attempt to stop the Dominion's advance into their territory, the Federation dispatched its Seventh Fleet – a force composed of 112 vessels – to the Tyra system. Unfortunately, a mere fourteen ships were able to make it back to their lines – a disastrous defeat for the Federation. Regrouping at Starbase 375, Captain Sisko managed to convince Starfleet that the Deep Space 9's recapture must be seen as the top priority of the war. Admiral Coburn objected to the plan, fearing too many ships would be diverted away from Earth, allowing the Dominion to attack it. Sisko was able to convince him that the key to winning the war was preventing Dominion reinforcements from the wormhole.

Without any ships from the Klingon Empire to back them up, it seemed like a hopeless cause. A Federation fleet of over 600 vessels departed from Starbase 375 towards Deep Space 9. Adams was still assigned to the USS Ajax and would help participate in the recapture of the station. Eventually, both the Dominion and Federation fleets clashed, and the battle to retake Deep Space 9 began. With the Federation forces taking heavy casualties, the battle seemed almost lost. In the nick of time, however, a massive Klingon fleet decloaked and engaged the Dominion forces, turning the tide of the battle to the allies' favor.

During the war, Adams served on numerous vessels in Security positions and was promoted to Crewman. With the Romulans joining the Federation Alliance, the Allies finally had the necessary resources, ships, and manpower to go on the offensive. Realizing that the only way to achieve a lasting victory against the Dominion was to go on the offensive and begin to destroy their shipyards and cloning facilities, Captain Sisko convinced both the Romulans and Klingons to join the Federation in the invasion of Cardassian territory. Having diverted the majority of its defenses to the Romulan front, the Chin'toka system was an ideal target. When Starfleet moved to take Chin'toka, she was transferred to the ground forces, because of her experience at Ajilon. She fought in the successful ground engagement that helped take the Chin'toka system. Julia continued to fight in ground engagements throughout Cardassian space during the remainder of the war.

In 2375 the war was officially ended with the signing of the Treaty of Bajor, and all Dominion forces returned to the Gamma Quadrant, with the exception of the head Founder, who was to stand trial for war crimes. After the successful conclusion of the Dominion War, Adams was reassigned to the USS Patronus, a Nebula Class starship, which was sent on various diplomatic and scientific missions. She served aboard the Patrocles for five years in several Security positions and eventually got promoted to Petty Officer 2nd class.

In 2380. Adams was offered the position of Master-at-Arms on the USS Taliesin, an Excelsior Class vessel. A combat hardened Veteran at age 35 she accepted and transferred to her new home. Her assignment to this ship was productive and for five years, she seemed to calm down and mellow out as the ship and her crew undertook patrols, convoy duty and generally policed the spacelanes where they were assigned. However, it all ended when the USS Taliesin was attacked by a Breen warship that had appeared to be cast adrift in space. Not able to raise shields in time the Excelsior Class vessel was mortally damaged and was forced to make an emergency crash landing on a remote planet designated by Starfleet as SD234. Nearly half the crew died in the resulting crash.

Adams was instrumental in gathering and organizing her Security forces in tactically advantageous positions and managed to hold off a numerically superior Breen force, despite a large number of casualties. She was recognized by Starfleet for her valorous actions and was recognized with numerous awards for valor and courage for her actions on SD234. She is meritoriously promoted to Master Chief Petty Officer.

In 2381, Adams next assignment was to be assigned to Starbase 958 to teach and to train the security troops on the base in advanced training, in short, she would teach her skillsets to the younger guys who had missed the Dominion War and the insanity that had taken place at around the same time. She would remain here for seven years until a surprise offer from Captain Tolian Brevik asked for her by name to come and serve as his Chief of the Boat on a new Champion Class carrier, she accepted and off she went.
