Mission:
Mission 112: The Heart of a Truth Long Lost
Location: Various Locations - USS Pembo
Timeline: 1225Hrs - January 21st, 2394
Aboard the USS Pembo. Standing inside transporter room one was Captain Heather Walking Bear. She was a little smaller than her older sibling but she stood out because she had a larger bust than her sibling. That was because she had four children while Samantha up to this point in time, had none of her own.
The transporter operator lifted his head. "One to beam over from the USS Fearless, sir."
Walking Bear nodded her head. "Go ahead and energize. Then give us the room please Chief?"
"Aye Captain." the man answered before going to work on the matter before him. He then energized the system as he beamed over the passenger. He knew only that this was a passenger who wanted to keep a low profile. He also knew that this was a member of the Captain's extended family, but who she was and what she was doing? Such was not his concern. He watched as a Klingon-looking woman appeared on the pad before he commented. "Transport complete." Then he turned and departed.
Heather Walking Bear smiled. "Hello B'Elanna. Welcome aboard."
"Captain Walking Bear. It's good to meet you." B'Elanna commented. "I wish we were meeting under better circumstances," she added. B'Elanna then stepped off the pad before she handed Walking Bear the PADD in her hands. "I am supposed to give you that," she explained why she was handing the other woman the PADD when she noticed Walking Bear's confused look.
"Ahh. I see everything was written down. Who drew this up/"
"My mother did, with assistance from Samantha Walking Bear. Lieutenant Brody and myself." B'Elanna explained. "It feels weird referring to Captain Walking Bear as Sam," she added with a gentle smile on her face.
"Not really, honey." Walking Bear commented. "Yopu'll be staying with me. I have a spare room, and I'd like to get to know you before we get back to Vanguard," she commented. "Besides. When you get all my siblings together, if you ask for Captain Walking Bear, several of us will respond, myself included. Besides. You are a civilian so you don't need to worry about rank and the like." she explained. "Do you just have the one bag?"
"I tend to pack light," B'Elanna answered with a nod of her head. "It's easier for me," she added.
"Excellent." Walking Bear turned as she went out into the hallway. B'Elanna was one step behind her while she watched Walking Bear carefully. Walking Bear tapped her combadge. "Bridge, this is the Captain. Let's get underway. But number one. Please proceed with your exercises as if your commanding officer has been killed. Proceed as you think best."
"Copy that, skipper." came the response from a male officer. "I'll keep you informed. Bridge out." The chat was finished as Walking Bear led her young charge down the hallway before turning left. Down several hallways later. She came to a stop before a set of quarters. The markings on the door read only "Captains Quarters - USS Pembo" but with no markings as to name and posting. Walking Bear tapped in her command code and the door slid open a moment later.
"I'm only borrowing this ship and her crew. Mostly though, it was to shake them down." She explained. "I also called in a couple of favours to come and collect you." Walking Bear then sat down on the sofa as B'Elanna sat down across from Walking Bear. "The spare room is right there, so feel free to make yourself at home."
"What rules do you have for your home." B'Elanna inquired. "Just so I know."
Walking Bear paused, mostly it was her husband who handled that detail. "Mostly just the usual common sense stuff. Don't be a bonehead, No fistfights. Take your shoes off at the door, mostly just simple stuff. Try and be polite if you can. If you're having a bad day, then say something. We can't help fix the issue if we don't know what's broken in the first place. Thats a rule I added because my eldest was having a hard time and she didn't tell anyone about it. It made for a stressful environment. So I decided enough and took Marie aside. We finaly got it resolved but man, the stress that took, was beyond insane. Please don't be like that. If something's bugging you then please say something to someone."
"I understand ma'am," B'Elanna answered with a nod of her head.
Walking Bear slowly smiled. "You don't need to call me that, you can call me my name. In fact. I'd prefer it." she explained herself. "It would make things easier," she added.
"Okay, Heather. I got no problems with that." B'Elanna paused a moment. "Who will I be sharing this space with?" she added. A slow smile spread across her face while she asked.
