Commander K'Tar entered her quarters in silence. She looked around. "Bee. Are you around?" she called her daughter's name.

"I'm here, mother," B'Elanna commented as she emerged from the nearby bathroom. "What's up?" she asked directly. "My bags are packed and I am ready to go," she added.

"Okay," K'Tar answered. "Captain Walking Bear is waiting in transporter room eight, I will see you off," she commented.

B'Elanna nodded her head. "I understand." She let out a soft sigh, suddenly feeling at a loss for what to do. "I wish it had not come to this, Mother. I had desired to share in your battles and perils ahead," she commented. "I had wanted to be something other than what I am. A burden to you and everyone else present."

"I know B'Elanna," K'Tar answered quietly. "But he will hurt you, he will try to kill you or worse. All in an effort to get my attention because he doesn't have the guts to look me in the eye when he does his actions. He has no honour. So I need to ensure he can't hurt me." She paused a moment. "Which means I need to ensure that you are protected. Even if it costs me my honour."

B'Elanna knew the value her mother placed upon her honor so she didn't question it. She simply nodded her head. "I understand, mother," she answered. "I am prepared to depart," she added.

"Good," K'Tar answered with a nod of her head. "Come, I will see you to the transporter room," she added.

B'Elanna picked up her single bag in silence before slipping on her calf-high boots. She then turned back to her mother who was waiting for her in silence. The two women then set off towards their destination.

The two came to a stop before a turboshaft. K'Tar called for a turbolift, which arrived a moment later. The turbolift car was empty and the two women entered, still in silence. K'Tar gave her destination while B'Elanna held her silence.

The two women reached their destination a short time later. The double doors opened as K'Tar entered the transporter room. B'Elanna brought up the rear as Captain Samantha Walking Bear turned to face the two women. "Hello B'Elanna. Are you ready to go?" she inquired of the youngest person in the room.

B'Elanna nodded her head. "Yes," she answered softly. "I am prepared," she added. She sounded sure of herself as she had mentally prepared for this. She knew it was coming as she had been informed a week earlier about the impending matter of state.

"Alright, we'll give you and your mom a moment to say your goodbyes," Sam answered. She then nodded to the transporter chief who turned and walked out of the room. B'Elanna gently hugged her mother, one which the older woman returned. "Take care B'Elanna." K'Tar commented in a soft tone of voice. "May you live long and well." She then smiled.

"You're not going to wish me a good death?" B'Elanna slowly grinned as she regarded her mother.

"No. I want you to live. You will bring yourself much honour by living well and having a good long life. Go forth B'Elanna and enjoy your life." she added. Then mother and daughter shared one last hug before B'Elanna stepped onto the transporter pad. K'Tar went over to the transporter display. She nodded to her daughter as she checked the system. "Energize Mom."

K'Tar did so, as she activated the system. B'Elanna was them beamed over to the USS Pembo. K'Tar regarded the pad which was now empty. Her smile faded away before she turned and walked out of the transporter room. This was where she found Captain Walking Bear and the transporter chief waiting for her. "Thank you for the respect you two," she commented. "Thank you, Chief. I will remember your respect. You had everything ready for me which made our parting effortless and painless for us both." she smiled. "It's all taken care of now."

"Thank you, ma'am." The man answered as he nodded to the Captain. He then withdrew into the transporter room. Sam Walking Bear turned and began walking beside the Klingon woman beside her. "So she's away them. Did you make her aware of the security regs for when she contacts you?"

"I did. She's to write letters only and route them to you, marked as Brooklyn Walking Bear." K'Tar commented with a gentle smile. "B'Elanna came up with the name. I think it suited her."

"I agree." Sam slowly smiled. "I will forward them to you, hopefully, I won't get too stupid on the matter," she commented. "I'll see it from Brooklyn and forward it to you after the coms guys pass it to me as part of my own mail. Considering I have a small army of siblings, nieces and nephews. It should hold up."

K'Tar smiled. "All of this sounds good. Until we deal with my unwanted pest anyway."

"Yes." Walking Bear answered with a nod. "Until he's dealt with," she added.
