Savannah came back into her home as Torilla followed. The older woman slipped her boots off at the door. "You okay Savv?" she asked in a gentle tone.
Savv smiled. "I forgot how easily you can do that," she commented over her shoulder as she went into the kitchen.
"No. honey. I wasn't using my telepathy for that. I could tell from your body language. It's telling me I got something on my mind and I don't know how to express it." she commented. "Gabe carries himself the same way when he's unhappy or upset about something but doesn't know how to explain it," she explained. "I don't need to use my telepathy with family. I hope they can trust me with whatever they need help with." Torilla explained, a wide smile on her lips. "That is kinda my job after all. To help you with your burdens so you can get on with life, raising your kids to be stress-free and happy children."
Savv smiled as she went over to the replicator. She ordered herself a drink before she looked at Torilla in silence.
"I'll just have a glass of cold water please dear. Then I will happily listen to you while you tell me of your struggles." Torilla smiled. Savannah turned back to the replicator as she ordered Torilla's drink. The glass of water appeared. Savannah lifted the drink before bringing it over to Torilla in silence before she sat down at the kitchen table. She sighed. "The issue with my mother has been bothering me."
"Fair enough. You never got the chance to say anything to her." Torilla commented gently. "Or, you did get to say something, but you were wholly unsatisfied with what was said at the time and wish you had more time to say it properly.?"
"No," Savv admitted. She quickly looked left and right as if deciding the space was clear enough for her to say what she wanted to say. "Admiral Kenneth Hunt had her declared as an unfit mother. He destroyed her, and that was after she was recovering from being disowned at age nineteen after having me and giving me up for adoption." Savannah's eyes sparked with a fury that Torilla had never seen before. "What was even worse still was all of this happened despite her being a legal adult. She did not need to give me up. Yet she did so to satisfy the demands of her mother, who was frankly. Fucking deranged." Savannah's fury was truly incandescent, despite not raising her voice. But there was no mistaking how angry she was.
Torilla nodded in silence, while she sipped her drink. She wanted Savv to get it all out of her system. "Go on honey. Get it all out," she commented.
"Okay. Thanks, Mom." Savannah paused a moment. "Yet Asia Hunt disowned her daughter anyway. All of Kimora Reeve's efforts were for naught. The entire universe shafted her good and hard and everyone let it happen." she growled. "Jason, her husband, my biological grandfather had Asia committed to the nuthouse for it. " Savanah shook her head. "She refused to recover, she didn't want treatment, and she only slit her wrists, citing her husband's unfair treatment of her." Savannah glared at Torilla. "Considering her treatment of me. I question that sentiment at any time of the day or night. But thats neither here nor there." she paused a moment. "Asia Reeves ended up killing herself when she went to the bathroom, by tripping and smashing her skull open in the shower." Savannah sighed. "She was a real waste of time and space," Savannah added as a matter of fact rather than an angry retort. "Good riddance too. Fucking miserable whore." she added. "Then I spent the next eighteen years in foster care., Being unwanted and unloved." she paused.
"Savv," Torilla said gently. "Easy, honey. I'd say you made your point," she added as she gently placed her hand on Savannh's hand. She gently rubbed the younger woman's hand with her own, as if telling her it would be okay.
"I'm sorry but... Lemme finish Mom." Savv answered softly. "Gabe... Gabe was the only person up to that point who gave so much as a half a dammn about my well-being. When he invited me to go home with him for Christmas that first year. meeting all of you guys was an utterly terrifying experience. But you felt that."
"I remember." Torilla softly smiled. "I thought you were good for Gabe and him for you. Rachael loved having you around. I know Beth liked you as well." She added. "As I recall it was Jake who gave you the final seal of approval."
"Yeah. When I told him he was not going to order me around like a common cadet.:" Savv sighed. "I was such a delightful child. I know." she chuckled softly.
