Torilla grinned at the memory. "Thats because you showed up wearing your cadets uniform. But then so did Gabe and Beth too for that matter. Jake never ordered them around but it was because you had the stones to challenge the Captain of the Courageous in his own home." she grinned. "I remember Gabe was trying to apologize and Jake smiled. Citing that you had a tongue and had a pair. He liked that. He always liked people who were not afraid of him. Because he didn't want you to be utterly terrified of him, because of his position." Torilla grinned. "Elizabeth spent more time laughing about it than anything else. But you didn't know any of that until after you came back from the moment you needed to pull yourself back together,"

"I thought he was going to turf me out of his quarters," Savv admitted softly.

"That would have caused issues with me," Torilla responded with a wide smile. "I know Beth and Rachael would have had issues with the matter as well. Besides. Jake wanted to get to know you better, considering you had the guts to stand up to him."

"Thats why he said to me what he said. He wanted to know if I was something other than a wastrel." she then shrugged. "Dad wanted me to help him with cooking Christmas dinner. IU was suprised and said I didn't know how to cook," she admitted. "He said he would teach me. He was so patient and kind. It was enough to reduce me to tears." she added.

"I remember," Torilla responded with a gentle nod of her head. "But Savv. What do you want to do about what's pissing you off?" she asked directly.

"I want justice for my mother. It is late for her. But not too late." Savvanah answered softly. "I have all of the stuff Kimora Reeves sent me," she added. She rose to her feet before she led Torilla into the study. There were three crates which had been more or less untouched since they had been moved in over a month earlier. It was to prevent the kids from getting at them.

Savannah opened the top crate before she pulled out several pieces of documentation. She then handed them off to Torilla. "Kimora sent me everything quietly. It was even mislabeled as 'Christmas presents.'" Savv commented. "The guy dropping the item was even selected by Kimora to be able to keep his eyes open and his mouth closed. He even said as much when he delivered the items." Savv explained.

Torilla accepted the dozen or so PADDs. "Mmm. So Kimora was thorough," she commented. "Mind if I read over these?"

"Help yourself. That was why I showed them to you in the first place." Savv explained. "I wanted a second opinion," she added before she sat down on one of the nearby chairs.

Just then the front doors to the quarters opened, before closing again a moment later. Gabe then came to the study and he found himself looking at his spouse and his mother. "Oh, hey ladies," he commented to both women. "What's going on?"

"I wanted a second opinion on Kimora's paperwork. You recall I asked you when we first got it."

"Yeah," Gabe answered. "I got about the PADDs in and then we got really busy with various details." he reminded her. "Maybe mom-" was as far as he got before he was interrupted by Torilla.

"I found the court records. I also found her documentation regarding her being declared as unfit by her husband." Torilla paused. "He divorced her afterwards," she added.

Gabe frowned. "Wait, he divorced his wife after he had her taken out back?" he asked. "Wow, what a guy. I love the raw cruelty on display here."

Torilla slowly smiled. "Not to mention that he also stacked the deck in his favour. He wanted this done quickly, and his wife had no time. It shows in the results." she added. "I can ask Jake to look into this paperwork and see what he says," she commented.

"I will go with you," Savannah answered softly. "If I'm going to ask Dad to stick it on the line for a woman I've not met then I owe it to him to at least have the guts to ask him straight to his face," she explained her reasoning.

"I will go with you," Gabe commented in a soft tone of voice. "Hey, I've never let you fight our battles alone. I'm not about to start now," he added.

Torilla's pride in her son had only increased over the years. She had watched him grow and develop since he was a boy. Now he was a man she could respect. Plus his attention and devotion to his spouse and children was always on full display. "Alright. Let's gather up this paperwork and let's go see Jake," she commented gently.
