Its Christmas on Vanguard - Part One

Mission: Mission 118: The Christmas from Hell
Location: Various Locations - Starbase Vanguard
Timeline: 1700Hrs - December 24th, 2393

Elizabeth Yamaguchi-Solusar was unsure if this idea was even going to work as she had never once in her entire life, ever worn a gown like this. It was strapless and went from her chest down to her feet. Her arms, shoulders and hands were completely uncovered. Yamaguchi-Solusar was standing before a full floor length mirror. "Wow. People really dressed like this?" the young woman asked herself aloud. How did they get anything done?"

Yamaguchi-Solusar picked up the PADD that she had been using for her research into the matter at hand. She wasn't going to miss this party. "I wish I'd known about this at the Sadie Hawkins dance at the academy... Or any of the parties I attended..." she paused. "But you do clean up really well girl," she added, talking to herself.

Her next item was the shoes which she then slowly slipped onto her feet. They were simply looking clinky three-inch heels that felt really strange to her feet. Yamaguchi-Solusar perused the PADD one last time as she went over the list of things she needed to attend to. "How did people get anything done when they spent all this time getting ready for a party?"

The walls around her designed her unworthy of an answer. She realized that she might have overshot the mark with her dress for this evenings events but she opted to see this through to the end. Yamaguchi-Solusar decided that she was ready and so it was time to attend the party. Yamaguchi-Solusar placed the PADD down onto the table before she departed her quarters for the party.

She reached her destination a few minutes later. She smiled while she spotted her husband who was wearing his dress uniform. It also seemed like many had seemed to opt-out of wearing anything fancy, settling for their dress uniforms. Yamaguchi-Solusar went over to the large area that had been set aside for food and drink. The selection was almost insane. She lifted a plate and began loading her plate with food.

Yamaguchi-Solusar turned her head as she turned. Finding herself face to face with a man who was nearly identical to her husband. But Beth recognized Marcus. "Hey, Beth. Wow. You look amazing." he commented.

Yamaguchi-Solusar smiled. "Thanks. I wasn't sure if this dress was something I ought to wear. I've never worn a dress like this before."

"It looks good on you," Solusar answered with a smile. "I think Kameron is around here somewhere."

"He's talking to Kadian Paris," Yamaguchi-Solusar answered, in a rather cheery tone of voice.

"Really.?" Solusar responded. "I was expecting him to be glued to you."

"Kam handles his own issues. I'm his spouse, not his keeper." Yamaguchi-Solusar answered with a gentle smile. "Do you wanna meet her?" she asked suddenly.

"Err," Solusar answered as Yamaguchi-Solusar raised her hand and waved at the smaller woman. Kadian Paris was wearing a simple black cocktail dress. It went down to her knees and as it was strapless. It revealed her shoulders and her arms. She grinned at Yamaguchi-Solusar with a wide grin. "Hey, Beth." as she turned to Solusar. "I'm Kadian Paris." she introduced herself.

"I'm Marcus." Solusar gently shook her hand. "You alright?" as he noticed her unease all over her face.

"I'm not big on large parties," Paris answered quietly.

"Fair enough." Solusar didn't argue with her. Even if he was enjoying the ambience. "Shall we go sit over here, out of the way?" he turned to Yamaguchi-Solusar smiled as Solusar-Yamaguchi approached. Kameron smiled as he regarded Marcus. Operation: Hookup was now well underway. "Come on Beth. Shall we?" he inquired of his wife.

"Mmm. Oh." Yamaguchi-Solusar answered before she came to her senses. She then moved away, her husband in tow. Solusar watched his brother and his spouse leave quietly. A gentle smile graced his lips before he turned to Paris. She was watching him rather intently. "Penny for your thoughts?"

"At last. We're alone. It's just us now." Solusar answered, a smile on his face. "Kameron and Elizabeth are screening us for something else." he turned back to Paris. "I have a feeling they don't want Jason coming over here."

Paris raised an eyebrow as she made herself comfortable. "Oh?. Who's Jason.?"

"He's my other brother. He would attempt to steal you just to compete with me." Solusar answered.

"Lovely." Paris sighed softly. "Would he want to do anything with me other than try and have sex with me?" she sounded more resigned than anything else.

"Oh, he might try to have sex with you right here," Solusar answered. "I want to get to know you first... Kadian. You should have heard Kam telling me about you." he paused. "I thought he was having me on."

Paris raised an eyebrow. She frowned in a way that Solusar found her to be very appealing. "What did he say?"

Solusar regarded her. "He said and I quote. She's the girl of your dreams." He explained. "He really believed it. I know how my brother thinks. I know what he's like. Kam is many things... But making things up is not something I'd expect of him.
