Kadian Paris regarded the man across from her. She wasn't sure of what to say. She had an idea and she wasn't sure how to say it but she decided to come right out and say it aloud. "Did he invite you here for me?"
"Yes," Solusar answered. "He felt I could get to know you. He also felt that I could resolve several of your issues in one go." he decided to come clean on the matter. "He said he had a surprise for you."
"He did." Paris agreed. She had not expected Kameron to ever pull a stunt like this. "Yet I'm uncertain if I want his present."
"What's the worst that could happen?" Solusar inquired of her. "We go home and something stupid happens?" he asked. "We end up hating each other."
"No. I'm worried it's the opposite." Paris admitted before she looked left and then right.
"We're just two people, hanging out at a Christmas party. Maybe we'll go home together and maybe we won't. But I do want to know you Kadian. Kam spoke so highly of you, he went to all this effort to ensure you and I would meet. Hell. I'll admit that he explained to me why I was invited, he even got tickets for me to get here so I could come to this party with you." Solusar explained. "So. I want to see if the legend is true."
"Kameron is simply one of the most loyal men I've ever known. He carries himself as a warrior. Looking after those who can't help themselves." Paris explained. "I wanted him... Don't take this the wrong way... But I wanted him."
"Oh. No offence taken." Solusar answered as he regarded her. "You've known him for the last couple of years, you and I have known each other for what?. Ten minutes at most?" Solusar answered. "I was the one who gave Kam some advice... Something I'm glad he took to heart." Solusar gently sipped his drink. "I told him before he went off to the academy that while he's fighting the enemies in front of him. That he shouldn't lose sight of the allies besides him and those he's protecting, who remain behind him." Solusar paused. "I was the bookworm of the family so I went into medicine." he smiled. "Oh, I'm fully licenced to cut someone open and weld them shut again."
Paris regarded him. "Really?" she asked. "I had no idea."
"I don't often like to talk about my work. Sometimes it's looking after scrapes and allergic reactions. skinned knees and trips and falls. Nothing usually too major." he explained. "Most of my time recently, they have me doing medical research."
Paris raised an eyebrow. "What kind of medical research.?" she asked of him.
"Mostly it's random. But recently it's been the side effects of various medications that have to be administered before the subject can go to somewhere without any decent medical infrastructure," Solusar explained. "I had thought about sticking in for OCS and joining Starfleet." he admitted "But that was before Kameron pointed me in your direction," he added.
"Kam never said anything about what you did for work or what your background was. He only said that I was to receive a gift and that he would introduce us. It seems Elizabeth beat him to it." Paris commented as she sipped her drink. "So. How about it Mister Solusar. Do you want to sleep with me?" she asked bluntly.
"Oh. I do." Solusar answered. "However. Kadian. I prefer it to be at a mutual time and place of our choosing and not because you think that's what I want." he commented. "Is it what you want or are you checking things off on a list... Because we don't need to do that. If you don't want to." Solusar smiled as he let out a rather long sigh.
Paris regarded him, she could use her various psionic gifts if she wished and see how he felt about things before her but she knew that she would destroy any chances of a relationship forming if she did that. "Are you so sure of that?"
Solusar nodded. "I am," he answered. "I'm not going to do anything with you that you don't consent to." he regarded her. "You've known Kam for years and me for minutes. You're already comparing me to him."
"I. I can't help it. I'm sorry." Paris answered softly.
"It's to be expected," Solusar answered. "If you didn't compare me to my younger brother. Then I would be worried." as he gently touched her face under the jawline. "I'd also know that I stood no chance, whatsoever."
"I'm not that heartless," Paris said softly. "Especally as you have done me no wrong." as she shifted her position on the chair. "Ahh. I need to go to the bathroom." with that, she rose to her feet. She disappeared into the crowd.
