Mission: Mission 118: The Christmas from Hell
Location: Various Locations - Starbase Vanguard
Timeline: 1400Hrs - December 1st, 2393

"Mmmm... What happened?" the massive woman asked softly. "Why am I lying here?" Galiaan Fordring asked the two people before her in a rather soft tone of voice. "Wait. How long... Was I out?" Fordring asked.

"Truth be told. You and Kam made something of a peace." Yamaguchi-Solusar looked down at the other woman. "I." she paused a moment. "Have words myself but. I'm unsure of how to say them."

"Oh." Fordring regarded the smaller woman as she slowly hauled herself to a seating position. "Oh my. I feel like I've been crushed and then dropped here. I feel worn out." she commented. "But Beth. Why have you been avoiding me?"

"Because. I was afraid." Yamaguchi-Solusar answered quietly. "I let my personal fears get in the way. I didn't trust enough in others to believe when they said that they had my best interests at heart. Considering the last six months have been nothing less than a non-stop horror show. Then I got the last five weeks off and it's been like I've been in this feeling of freefall ever since." she paused. "My weight is improving. My stress levels are going down slowly. My pregnancy is progressing well."

"But you couldn't talk to me." Fordring regarded the other woman before her. "I'm not sure which part is worse Beth. You're lack of faith in me or your lack of trust in general." she paused. "But then when I tried the last time. You told me to go away. You needed more time to come to terms with the matter at hand."

Yamaguchi-Solusar didn't even attempt to deny it. It was all true. "Yes. Rather than resolve the issue then. I ran away and other people let me. They saw me as a workplace abuse survivor."

"Which made things even worse because it's true." Solusar-Yamaguchi explained. "Medical had you working stupidly long hours and doing lots of work. Whereas in Science I was free to come and go as needed."

Fordring nodded her head. "The medical issues have been dealt with. On our end. Nobody is doing any more overtime, ever. For any reason." she paused a moment to let that sink in. "Your rewards also have arived," she added. "I was going to tell you that you are being nominated for a citation for what you've done. You got eight commendations for your work over the last eight months."

Yamaguchi-Solusar had not known of the details of what she was getting as nobody had said a word to her of the matter in the last several weeks. "This is all new to me."

"If and when you come back. You'll be moved from your previous assignment to the admin section which I'll be commanding. So you'll answer to Doctor Dvald and you'll answer to me. You have a keen eye for details and the medical department owes you quite the debt of gratitude. Heris wants to ensure that you have the tools you need to effectively command a ship of the line." she paused before she looked left and then right. "This goes no further than the three of us. Okay?" Fordring commented softly.

"You have my oath," Solusar-Yamaguchi said softly. He gently placed his hand on top of hers for a moment before he withdrew it.

Yamaguchi-Solusar smiled. "What happens in the holodeck, stays on the holodeck. It's why dad has remained out of this entire mess, along with my entire extended family. They didn't want any part of this drama as they saw it as mine to deal with and resolve on my own terms."

Fordring slowly smiled as she regarded the pregnant woman before her. "Beth. You are being recommended to be sent to the command college." she paused as she let that statement sink on. Recommendations to the command college were not lightly given out. They were also not given to just anyone either. This was something she had never expected.

Fordring continued. She knew that if she didn't finish now then she never would get the chance again. "You've shown how a medical facility should be run. As far as the command staff is concerned and I happen to agree. You are ready to work without a net. You just need time as an Executive Officer for someone." she paused a moment. "Then you will be ready for your own command. Hell. You were past ready but you do have one last test to face. You must face your fears..."

Yamaguchi-Solusar paused, this was a lot for her to take in all at once so she held her silence. While she began to work through what she was being told.

Solusar-Yamaguchi noticed his spouse's silence. "What exactly do you mean when you say 'face her fears' Doctor.?"

"Well. That's easy." Fordring answered with a smile. "Warning. Holodeck time will expire in five minutes." Intoned the computer.

Fordring sighed as she hauled herself to her feet. Both Yamaguchi-Solusar's helped her up. "Come on Galiaan. Let's go back to our place so we can discuss the matter further."

"Yeah. Let's do that." Fordring agreed.
