Mission: Mission 114: Be All My Sins Remember'd
Location: Various Locations - USS Pembo
Timeline: 0930Hrs - November 8th, 2393

Commander Yamaguchi stepped onto the bridge. Master Chief Benjamin Kuuztin met her at the turbolift door with a PADD in his hands. "Morning skipper." he greeted the woman before him. Kuuztin felt that Yamaguchi had the looks of a model and at the beginning of their service time together. He did not think her capable of this mission on any level whatsoever but now he was revising his opinions considerably as he watched the skipper work. He locked eyes with her and indicated the ready room door with his head.

Yamaguchi picked up his hint and she followed him into the ready room in silence. "What's up, Master Chief?" Yamaguchi inquired.

"Engineerings revised repair estimate." Kuuztin handed the PADD across to his skipper. Since it was just the two of them now. Kuuztin could speak his mind a little more freely than he would have had he remained on the bridge. What was telling about him was that he had little respect for the rules and his service file said as much. On more than one occasion he had spoken his mind a little too freely at times. Sometimes it worked but many times, it had caused things to explode in his face when he was dealing with younger officers. Formal skippers and people who were a cross of the two.

Yamaguchi accepted the PADD as she gave it the once over. Not a lot had changed other than the repairs to the various hull breaches. "Engineering has made progress. No?" she inquired of the Master Chief.

"Yes. They are but they've only been at their repairs for one night... About twelve hours worth of time. But it's better than nothing." Kuuztin answered softly. "The warp drive is my greatest concern." he paused as he had not requested permission to speak his mind freely or so openly. Now it's time to see what sort of a skipper I have. Will she retreat behind the rank and act like an empty-headed imbecile as so many had before or would she show some creative thinking?. Would she reprimand him for not following protocol or ignore it?.

"I share it." Yamaguchi tended to be more democratic in her processes and how she operated. "It will cause us issues but we do have a Halanan medical base here. We can still accomplish our mission proving they have what we need and we can keep them from calling for help."

"That's a lot of assumptions skipper... You are also letting me away with this." Kuuztin decided that now was a good time to see what Yamaguchi was made of. She seemed to be more liberal than most but he had to be sure.

"You are presently my acting Exec and while you might not have a commission. I trust you to ensure that things are working as intended and repairs are being handled." Yamaguchi smiled. "I tend to be... a little different than many are used to. For me. I find that protocol tends to inhibit the freedom to work rather than help it along." Yamaguchi explained her working relationships and her preferences regarding the same.

"Fair enough." Kuuztin had not expected the freedom to operate as he was presently getting. "I wish we could leave things as they are. Let Engineering get some serious repair time in..."

Yamaguchi nodded in agreement. "But that Halanan medical station might have already detected us and called for help. We are stuck being short on power and on time." she knew that if the enemy was being reinforced then the mission was already doomed but she decided not to give voice to her fears.

Kuuztin raised an eyebrow. "We don't have phasers so we can't stun everyone from orbit." he sighed. "So we're stuck with missiles..." He then shrugged. "Let's see what they bring for us."

"Indeed," Yamaguchi answered. "We'll give Engineering as much time as possible before we begin making our way over to the Halanan medical station... The trouble is, they will see us coming long before we ever get there."

Yamaguchi tapped her combadge. "This is the Captain. All senior staff report to the bridge please." as she tapped her combadge a second time. "Do you have any other concerns we should address?" Yamaguchi wanted to make sure that all was taken care of here before she proceeded with the next issue at hand.

"No skipper. Other than our damage..." Kuuztin answered. "All my other issues. I will leave unsaid."

"I'm in the same boat as you," Yamaguchi answered with a gentle smile. "For now... We still can't call for help... Until we get that fixed. We're unable to really do much about our situation." she then let out a soft sigh. "The enemy might have already had help on the way..."

"I understand," Kuuztin answered. "If they do then we'll know soon enough."

Yamaguchi smiled. "Come on. Let's go plan this attack..." and with that, she turned and led the way out of the ready room. Kuuztin followed in silence.
