Mission:
Mission 114: Be All My Sins Remember'd
Location: Various Locations - USS Pembo
Timeline: 0945Hrs - October 31st, 2393
It had only been fifteen minutes since the start of the fight and five minutes since the withdrawal from the battle that had seen two Halanan ships disabled, one of those was the equal to the Pembo and the second was a ship that had been almost fifty percent larger and more powerful then the Pembo and yet, the starfleet ship and her crew had still managed to accomplish something that Yamaguchi did not think possible. Taking on two enemy ships of equal power and winning. But Yamaguchi knew that she had lost before the battle had even been fought. Her cover had been blown and worse yet, was that the enemy knew she was out here and speeding away at high warp from the system in question.
Commander Victoria 'Enyo' Yamaguchi sighed softly. "Penny... Report?"
Lieutenant Penny Smith, presently seated at Operations, knew that her skipper wanted and so she decided not to screw with her on the matter. "Shields are back to twenty-four percent. Six hits penetrated the shields and impacted the hull and two of those penetrated the hull. One of the secondary hull around the ventral heavy missile launcher." Smith reported. "The computer shut down the missile launcher due to the safties kicking in." she paused. "The second hit impacted on the armour belt near the port side dorsal heavy missile launcher."
"So they were trying to disable our weapons then," Harrison commented before Yamaguchi could.
Lieutenant Taselle Dragon turned her head. "Captain, they were pulling their punches... Not hitting us anywhere nearly as hard as they should have."
Yamaguchi turned her head. "What do you mean... They let us disable them?"
The Cardassian woman nodded her head. "Yes..." she answered.
Yamaguchi raised an eyebrow. "Could they be tracking us..?" she inquired.
"Possibly." Dragon admitted. "See who my enemy is... and then trail them... Until we get to a good location and then they could jump us when we're not expecting it."
"Lovely." Yamaguchi sighed. "Get our weapons and shields repaired as soon as possible please..." she said it quietly but there was no mistaking the urgency behind her order.
"I'll be in engineering." and with that, the Cardassian woman sped from the bridge quickly. Yamaguchi turned to Harrison before she moved over to the other woman before her. "Well, number one," she commented. "What do you think?"
"I think we were unexpecting the opposition we faced... Timing is everthing... Did we take them seriously as a worthy adversary?"
Yamaguchi paused, she had not done so. She then said as much. Ilea turned to Yamaguchi. "Skipper... Phasers are fully charged but we're down to forty-five missiles... I have another two hundred under construction but it's going to take two hours for them to be ready." she explained.
Harrison knew that two hundred missiles were well beyond Pembo's capabilities to make all at once as she nodded. "Grand El-tee." she went over to the Exec's chair and she sat down.
Yamaguchi paused a moment before she tapped her combadge. "Yamaguchi to Paris... Report?"
"Eleven wounded, two criticals... No fatalities..." came the unexpected response.
Yamaguchi truly hated to do this but she had little choice. "Doctor. I need all able-bodied crewmembers at their posts."
"I won't keep anyone here a second longer than I must skipper. I'-" there was a pause as an alarm went off. "Crap. She's crashing... Move her into surgery right now... Skipper, I gotta go." and with that, the com went silent.
Yamaguchi held her silence as she gently tapped her combadge. "Ilea?" she asked softly.
"Yeah skipper.?" the Klingon female asked of her Commanding Officer in a gentle tone of voice.
"I want those weapons ready for flight as soon as possible please," Yamaguchi answered gently before she sat back down in her chair.
Lieutenant Smith tapped at the display before her. "Captain. We have two larger warships chasing us..." she paused. "We also have two more coming at us from up ahead."
"Lovely." Yamaguchi paused. "Drop us out of warp... and sound Battlestations," she added.
Harrison regarded the display as she knew that the coming fight was going to be swift and brutal. Suddenly the four ships appeared before the Pembo as ordinance flashed and explosions flared between the five ships. All five quickly taking damage but all concerned knew that Pembo could not sustain the damage coming in.
Yamaguchi knew she needed to force a disengagement without pursuit. "Bridge to Engineering... Chief, jettison one antimatter containment pod over the side..." she turned to Rohr. "Target it and once it's clear, blast it with phasers..." she then turned to Tienn. "Prepare a quick warp jump in any direction other than here... "
"Aye Captain." Tienn nodded to her commanding officer. The voice came over the com system. "Pod released..." Dragon reported.
Yamaguchi felt the ship being slowly demolished around her. "As soon as possible, shoot it."
Rohr regarded the conn officer at the front of the bridge. Helm, stand by..." she paused as she bracketed the antimatter pod with her phasers as she launched the last of her missiles against one of the larger Halanan ships. "Now!" she tapped the firing stud. Three things happened all at once. The Pembo detonated the antimatter containment pod, this caused all the sensor readings in range to degrade considerably. At the same time, the Pembo shot forward into warp. Pembo quickly passed out of sensor range quickly, she was unnoticed and undetected.
