Monique rose to her feet before she slowly moved into the kitchenette area. She lightly tapped her combadge. "Deepshadow to Yeager. Aunt Talon, you there?" she asked of the woman who was the spouse of her biological father. Monique had trouble keeping up who was related to who at times, her family was quite large with both parents having remarried to other people and having children with other people.
"Yeah, I'm here honey. How are things proceeding?" Yeager inquired in a gentle tone. Clearly, she had expected Deepshadow to be late for dinner and was planning accordingly. "Is everything going according to plan?"
"I think we're all adjusting..." Monique paused as she sighed softly, she knew it would be picked up by the com system but that didn't bother her in the least. "Krista and Mom met. It's been... educational... To say the least..." she sighed softly. "I'm sorry but Krista and I will be eating dinner here tonight after all. I don't think she's ready to meet you guys tonight and... To be honest. I'm not up to it either."
"Fair enough. Dinner isn't ready yet anyway... So we'll see you guys tomorrow then?" Talon answered. Deepshadow could almost hear the other woman smiling.
"Yeah... I'm sorry for all this drama." Monique answered softly. "I didn't think things would get as out of hand as they did... Mom fainted once she realized her lost child had been returned to her," she explained quickly about the situation that was presently brewing in the next room.
Yeager knew that this was going to get very intrestin or very stupid very fast. "Sounds like it, honey. Tell us about it tomorrow when you bring her over. I know Davijaan is dying to meet her. I don't think he minds having more kin around. Even if he has no idea of who or what she is. She might not call him her father... She may never do so but the DNA speaks for itself... He will be there for her, same as he is for you."
"I know... I will impress this upon Krista while we eat here tonight. I know mom wants time to adjust because this honestly came right out of the left field." Monique explained before she let out a long soft sigh.
"It's fine honey." came the response from Yeager. "These things do happen from time to time."
"That does not mean they need to be liked when they do happen." the younger woman explained in a light tone of voice. "Krista is also new to the Starbase and then she finds me and aunt Miranda at the same time and then she meets mom..." she sighed. "Even though she calls two elderly Caitians as her parents. Suffice to say... Krista is not what you'd expect... She thinks like a Caitian."
"Lovely." Yeager's response was as dry as it was telling. "How bad do you think this is going to be?"
"Oh. I expect this to get stupid but I remain optimistic that it won't..." Monique answered as Krista approached in silence. Monique regarded her twin with a nod.
"Alright. Well here's hoping things go well... We will see what happens, next honey." Yeager answered.
"Yeah." Monique agreed in a rather dry tone of voice. "No chance of stopping things now so we'll carry on with what's in front of us."
"What am I interrupting.?" Krista inquired with a good-natured smile.
"Krista. I assume?" Yeager answered. Her dulcet tones coming over the com system. "I have heard much about you." the voice added.
"Well. I do what I can." Krista answered with a gentle smile. "It could be worse..."
"Indeed it could honey. It sounds like you guys have your hands full with recent events. I have no idea how I'd handle going through what your biological mother did honey..."
Krista nodded. "It's been exhausting coming to terms with events..." she admitted. "I'm still processing it all."
"Take your time with it and if you need other opinions or someone to talk to. That's why we're all here... Don't be like your twin... She never calls, she never writes... I sometimes wonder if she doesn't like me." Yeager's sense of humour was out in full display for all to see.
Monique frowned. "I'm standing right here you know?" she commented.
"Oh... I'm sorry honey... You were not meant to hear that..." Yeager answered but it was clear that she was meant to hear every word that Yeager had said.
"I... I will keep it in mind..." Monique sighed softly. "Anyway, I gotta go." and with that, she gently tapped her combadge to terminate the transmission before she small-framed woman turned to begin moving off, suddenly she was lost in thought as she had no idea of what to consider in regards to her aunt Talon's comments.
