Mission: Mission 112: The Heart of a Truth Long Lost
Location: Various Locations - USS Spirit of Winter / USS Cassini
Timeline: 1115Hrs - November 1st, 2393

"Wait, you have children?" Reeves asked gently.

"We do," Savannah answered. "Two girls and a boy... and we're planning a fourth child... and maybe a fifth child as twins seems to run in our family... Yours and mine," she commented. Gabriel nodded. "We're looking at our options and... Since my medical concerns were fully addressed... I don't need to deal with any more issues. Thank you." Gabriel shivered despite it being very warm in the room both were sitting in.

"What species is your mother?" Reeves asked softly.

"Torilla is full Halanan. I'm half Halanan and half-human. Our children are three-quarters human and one-quarter Halanan." Gabriel explained with a gentle smile. "Savannah might not have had a decent childhood but our children will. No matter what it takes, no matter what I have to pay for it. Even if that means I leave Starfleet for twenty years, stay home and raise the kids and then come back after the kids are grown and left home. Maybe they would join Starfleet as well and maybe they wouldn't. That choice would be theirs alone... and not mine." he then sighed. "That choice was denied to you and frankly. I am sorry Ms Reeves... But I do not like your mother at all. I find her conduct offensive and her manners, boorish."

Reeves smiled, she decided she liked this young man. "Gabe, you are more of a man than most men twice your age that I know... My Ex, in particular, could learn lessons from you in manliness..."

Savannah and Gabriel shared a look. "Do we dare ask?" he asked in response.

"Well... It's no great secret... That Admiral Kenneth Hunt seeks my destruction. He thinks I'm insane."

"We shall see about that," Gabriel answered quietly. "Because you seem cool, calm and collected to me..."

Savannah regarded her husband, she knew how he got when things got interesting. He was more often than not usually proven correct on matters of character and judgements of the same. She raised an eyebrow. "You are just like dad..."

Gabe nodded. "Oh. Yeah... Jake Yamaguchi never could have stood for this nonsense."

"Wait... Hold it..." This was a major revelation for Reeves. The look on her face said as much. "Your father is Jake Yamaguchi?" Reeves commented. "Does he have an older sister named April Yamaguchi?" she wasn't sure but she needed to make sure.

"Ahh. Yes, you mean aunt April... I've not talked with her in way too godammned long. I'll fix that tonight..." Gabe answered with a wide grin. "Wait... Are you the Kimora that my cousin is named for?"

Reeves sat back in her chair. "Shit... Well. I didn't see that coming..." Reeves sighed. "Dammmit..." she muttered softly.

"Wait... What do you mean?" Savv inquired gently. She asked of both her husband and her biological mother.

"April and I... She and I were friends... Because..." Reeves paused a moment as she let out a soft sigh. "Well... Things went sideways between us..." she paused. "Things got out of hand... Things were said."

Gabe nodded as he knew full well what happens when maters were left alone to fester, how things could get out of hand and hurt people. Some of the most deadly weapons in one's arsenal were words and words had a lasting effect, especially when left unattended. "Well... If it helps Ms Reeves. We'd like to meet you... and you can meet your grandkids."

Reeves smiled. "I'd love that," she answered. "You are okay with all this?"

"It is, what it is... I will not deny my spouse a chance to know you. I won't deny you either. As you've been through the grinder a few times... Which isn't fair to you." Gabe commented quietly. "Because you'd had this question for almost thirty years... Both of you have... and its time it was answered, for both of you... and I will see it done..."

Savannah smiled. "Indeed... Mom. Well, I didn't have a decent childhood but I turned out alright... What helps me immensely each day is knowing that his family." she motioned to her husband beside her while she spoke. "accepts me and considers me kin without question, reservation or hesitation... "

Reeves smiled. "We should all be so lucky... Fate seemed to smile on you... I wish...I had been half as fortunate as you." she sighed. "Well, as much as I'd like to stay and talk more... I do need to get some of this work done..." she paused. "Can I call you back later after the end of my shift?"

Savannah nodded her head. "Sure. I'm Chief of Operations on the USS Spirit of Winter and Gabe here is Chief of Tactical."

"Alright," Reeves answered with a gentle smile on her face. "Then I'll call you back... Bye guys." and with that, the screen went black. Savannah turned to her husband. "Well. That was... enlightening."

"Indeed," Gabe answered, he was expecting his spouse to burst into tears at any second but she didn't. "You okay?"

"I will be. Lets go into the bedroom... I want to sit on the bed with your arms around me..." Savannah rose to her feet as Gabe knew what his wife wanted, he would also oblige her as he rose to his feet and followed in silence.
