"Don't bother honey. He would not acknowledge you as his daughter..." Reeves answered quietly. "Davijaan Yeager never knew he had gotten me pregnant that evening..." Reeves paused. "It was a dorm party... There were about forty of us who ended up having a mass orgy... One thing led to another and things really got out of hand... Because I ended up becoming pregnant with you." Reeves let out a soft sigh. "I never maintained any sort of relationship with Davijaan Yeager. He does not know of your existence Savannah... I did... That was my downfall... My mother demanded that I abort you. I refused and when she found out I wasn't going to abide by her wishes... She disowned me... Even though I was nineteen at the time..." Reeves regarded the daughter she had never known. "What's worse was that I had convinced her that I could carry you to term and then give you up. Maybe you would have found a better chance elsewhere then you could with me... Mom was okay with this but then she changed her mind and disowned me." Reeves shrugged her shoulders. "Mom could change her mind blisteringly fast. She was bipolar and she was also... schizophrenic and as a result... Her emotional control deteriorated over time... By the time Leila and I were at the academy. She was fully insane... and that's why she was committed..."

Gabriel was horrified by these revelations that he was hearing. "I'm...I'm sorry..." he commented softly. "I... I couldn't imagine going through something like that..." he paused a moment. "I guess I got lucky with my mother." he paused, as he had not considered that Kimora Reeves was an abuse survivor.

"Yes..." Reeves agreed with him. "Oh. How I envy you, Gabriel Yamaguchi... To have a mother like Torilla Yamaguchi... Don't take this the wrong way... But there are times when I envy you... Now is one of those times... I would have sold my own mother into slavery or I would have killed others to have a mother like Torilla Yamaguchi..."

Savannah and Gabriel shared a look, this was one hell of a revelation for them both. "Go on with what you were saying?"

"My mother disowned me for my disobedience... Despite the fact, I was an adult in the eyes of the law... My father's wrath was terrible, his retribution was swift... Mom paid for her crimes against me... But it was all a little too late..." Reeves shrugged her shoulders as she let out a soft sigh. "He had my mother committed for insanity..." Reeves lifted a glass of clear liquid to her lips and she drained a mouthful. "It was all too little and too late... Dad tried to save what he could... But mom had managed to destroy our family... My sister openly hated her and left... and I was... Little better..." Reeves paused. "Leila got lucky... I didn't..."

"You were an abuse survivor," Savannah commented quietly. "I didn't know any of this..."

Reeves nodded her head. "Mom... She... She hated Starfleet so one wonders how in hell she ended up with my dad... She took me and Leila... Your aunt... and we were raised on Mars... Any time the matter came up, Mom would fly into a rage... and then she divorced my father... Then she came down hard on me... Because I wanted to join Starfleet... Leila did as well but Mom came at me for it..." Reeves paused as she sighed softly. "Let's just say, honey... In a way... I'm glad that you didn't need to see it or experience it..." Reeves paused. "Asia Reeves would not have hesitated to take out her rage and hatred on you. She would have tormented you in front of me... All to make me suffer."

Savannah was horrified by the tale she was hearing from the woman before her. "I'm sorry..." she commented softly. "I..." she stopped as she ran out of words.

"I'm sorry too." Reeves shrugged her shoulders. "But all of this was thirty years ago... and... Mom has since past on..." she added.
"I do not mean to burden you with my issues honey," Reeves added quietly.

"No. It's fine... I have been wanting to meet you for so long now..." Savannah explained softly.

Reeves smiled. "I always wondered what happened to you... Did you find a decent family?"

"No," Savannah admitted. "I didn't even know what a family was... I was never adopted. I spent my entire life in an adoption centre... My childhood was a long and strange one. I was... Unwanted... Unloved." she paused as she fought to control her emotions. "That changed after I met Gabe here."

Reeves paused as the true depth of her failure sank in. "I should never have let you go," she admitted her failings. She was unworthy of forgiveness or so she thought.
