Mission: Mission 111: The Sorrows of Night
Location: Various Locations - Starbase Vanguard
Timeline: 1100Hrs - October 24th, 2393

"Well, anyway Kam, you have two weeks off to do with as you please... I'd prefer you spend it with your spouse but I leave it for you to decide." Fardreamer commented, with a gentle smile on his face.

"Fair enough..." Solusar-Yamaguchi answered quietly.

"Besides... All that said... You have the same options in front of you as well... You aren't far off from getting command of your own department... You just lack the command certifications." Fardreamer commented. "Your one of my best and you already have the prerequisites to be promoted to the Commanders rank, you just lack time in grade is all... If you wanted command of your own then I'd tell you to fill out the request for it... I'd have little choice but to approve it... You could go into Crusiers or destroyers now... We have some ships here at Vanguard that needs skippers and the like... Or if you wanted command of a capital class ship then you'd have to go to the command college for that..." Fardreamer shrugged. "But for you and Beth, it's easily doable for either of you or both of you." Fardreamer smiled. "Besides. You two could easily get your own flags down the road... One of you could end up at Starfleet command itself or maybe even a future commander in chief..."

Solusar-Yamaguchi nodded his head. "I'm not yet ready to make that choice yet... But I appreciate your words, sir."

"Same as I appreciate that you're not going to make a rash choice... Kam. I mean it when I said you are one of my best people. I can assign you any task and consign it to the done pile. You go in, assemble who and what you need and then get it done. I wish I had another dozen people like you." he paused. "But the fact that you and Beth are in this situation... It's not a weakness or a failing on your part... Even if either of you thinks it is. The issue is ours to deal with and address..." he regarded Fardreamer suddenly turned to Fordring. "How'm I doing so far?"

Fordring wasn't expecting to be outed in such as fashion. "I'd say really well... Because I too have this same concern... The smooth running of the Alpha watch is mine... and I have failed your wife in truly spectacular fashion."

Solusar-Yamaguchi regarded the two people in silence, his anger was still very much present as he was annoyed, more with Fordring then anyone else. "So... How exactly did we end up here then?... Through blind luck and other people's stupidity...?" there was no mistaking his snide tone for anything other than a dig at Fordring.

Fardreamer regarded the younger man before him. He knew the other man was dangerously close to losing what little remained of his temper. "I can explain that Kam... Hear me out... You felt you had to prove that you both were worthy of the rank of Lieutenant Commander... Especially in your wife's case as her service record had been screwed with... She spent four years as an Ensign, working herself to death and getting passed over for promotion,"

"What's worse Kam was that what happened to your spouse was outright illegal..." Fordring reentered the conversation at that point. "I know Starfleet JAG looked into the matter once they were informed of said issues..." Fordring regarded him, compassion shining in her dark eyes.

"To support her, you threw everything you had into that effort... I've had time to observe you, Kam... You do care... I've seen you help Courtney with her issues... You treat your spouse like a Queen... You're always taking care of matters in your household... and we allowed you both to do so for far too long... You both threw yourselves into it... and you were allowed to do so..." Fardreamer explained. "For my part in this mess... I apologize Kam."

"You owe me no apology sir, you've let me away with a lot over these past few months..." Solusar-Yamaguchi answered quietly. "Leaving early to pick up my son from daycare when Elizabeth was working late. Which happens often these days..." as he gave Fordring a look of pure malice. "I'll go home, take care of my wife and child... and then I'll clean up... your... mess..." as he glared angrily at Fordring as he growled angrily at her. "I grow tired of cleaning up after you."

Fordring knew he had every right to be angry with her. She did not stop him from saying his piece as she knew he had a right to be angry.

Fardreamer nodded, he noted Solusar-Yamaguchi getting angry as well and he knew it was time to bring this meeting to its conclusion before Solusar-Yamaguchi actually hit the larger female before him, he knew it was coming. "Okay. I think that's about all we need to chat about today... Kam, thanks for your time..." he commented as he rose to his feet.

Solusar-Yamaguchi nodded his head, as he likewise stood up. "I'll see you in two weeks, sir..."

"Sounds good. Off with you Kam, your spouse needs you a lot more then I do." and with that, Solusar-Yamaguchi turned and departed.

Fordring sighed softly. "I honestly thought he was going to hit me."

Fardreamer nodded. "I got that as well..." he let out a soft sigh. "Might I recommend that you go and placate his neglected spouse... Make nice with her so she can help calm her husband's anger..."

"Very wise Commander," Fordring answered with a nod of her head. "I've already begun with her." as she smiled at the smaller human male before her.

"Might I recommend then that you stay out of Kam's way... I don't need him going on report because he slugged you. The assignment of the Yamaguchi-Solusar's in the first place, was a major challenge as they were both told more or less than this is where you're going and neither had any say in the matter.. So keeping both was a major accomplishment and now this happens..." Fardreamer regarded the woman before him who was almost double his size and mass. "Galiaan... I'm gonna ask you nicely to please, please, please... Go make nice with these two because Kam is easily one of my best people... I imagine it's the same for Elizabeth for you."

"It is... and I have plans to resolve some of these issues," Fordring answered in a quiet tone of voice.

"Alright. Then I'll leave it be and say no more.... and hope I don't get another transfer request from Kam crossing my desk." Fardreamer commented with a soft sigh. "We'd both best get back to it." and with that. He turned and departed while Fordring went the other way, out the door in silence.
