Mission: Mission 111: The Sorrows of Night
Location: Various Locations - Starbase Vanguard
Timeline: 1100Hrs - October 24th, 2393

Lt Commander Kameron "Foehammer" Solusar-Yamaguchi was tired, he was also frustrated and angry. Kameron had gotten the chance to tell the woman who had caused part of his issues. Exactly how he felt right to her face. He had been expecting Commander Fardreamer to try and calm him but the man didn't. This had been a surprise to Kameron himself and this had also impressed Solusar-Yamaguchi. He didn't expect to get a word in, but he did. Fardreamer had refereed the match between him and Galiaan Fordring. He had wanted to haul off and punch her one but he decided not to.

Solusar-Yamaguchi slowly moved down the hallway as he noticed a female officer coming towards him from up ahead. He slowed to a stop as he locked eyes with his grandmother from his wife's side of the family. "Captain." he addressed her by rank as she was presently wearing her uniform, this meant that she was on duty.

"Walk with me son, and tell me of what's troubling you," Yamaguchi answered, a gentle smile playing at her lips. "You look angry."

"I'm sorry," Solusar-Yamaguchi answered quietly. He fell into step beside her as he sighed. "Elizabeth and I were both promoted to Lieutenant Commander not long ago, and Beth was fucked over a few times due to people being shitheads. Now she's working herself to death to prove she has what it takes and the retards in charge let her do it for too long. Now her health is compromised because of it and they want her to take time off because they fucked up and she has to pay for it, again and again." Solusar-Yamaguchi was letting his angry explanation turn into an angry tirade.

The woman beside him gently took his hand in her own. Her touch felt cool and soothing to his angered mind. It was also enough to stop him in his tracks. She knew he was angry. He was enraged because of the length of time that had taken to get here and now people were only starting to see that their effects of ignoring the issue could have caused others. Yamaguchi knew her granddaughter had already been screwed with on her previous assignments, her rank had been illegally tampered with and she had been screwed with, used by others and abused by others. "I understand how it goes... Starfleet does tend to lose sight of its people. Seeing their results when they are at their best... and at their worst." she smiled at him. "I've been paying attention to my granddaughter and her issues. I am not happy with what I have been seeing on the matter at hand."

"So... What will you do about it?" Solusar-Yamaguchi inquired bluntly.

"Nothing, there is nothing I can do..." Yamaguchi answered quietly. "If someone slaps my granddaughter. A lot of people get angry over the matter... Like Admiral Lasky for example. I can only imagine how he feels about this matter... In fact. I do not wish to know... I know his relationship with Beth is complex and complicated. I know you know all of this as well." Yamaguchi regarded her granddaughter's spouse as she was a few inches taller than he himself was.

"I do. Beth carried his first child to term to allow mom to heal from some residual issues she had dealt with a couple of months earlier." Solusar-Yamaguchi explained. "I decided not to get in the way but it caused some issues between Beth and I..."

Yamaguchi nodded her head in understanding. She understood how all of this worked as she recalled the issues she had with her husband. When she had been in her original life. Before her capture and assimilation at the hands of the Borg. Before she lost herself and who she was. Also before she became a Borg Queen. In order to try and save what was left of the Borg, she led the last of the Borg to the Federation, from a war the Borg had lost before it had even been fought. "It was like that between Ben and I."

Solusar-Yamaguchi regarded the woman he had come to call his grandmother. "You never said anything about issues.?"

"I don't like to burden others with my issues. Especially when the other person I had the issue with... Is gone." she let out a soft sigh. "I can't fix the issues with Ben... My husband but I can help you heal yours with Beth... So bring your son over to me and I'll look after him for as long as you need. Tend to your spouse and leave your child to me."

"I will," Solusar-Yamaguchi answered quietly. "Thanks..."

Yamaguchi smiled at him. "I've missed looking after children. Your son is so well behaved most of the time but he is only two. He will be himself." she explained. "No really. He causes me very few issues," she added, upon noting the look on Solusar-Yamaguchi's face. "Maybe it's worth your while to talk to your dad."

"I will do so," Yamaguchi-Solusar answered softly. "It's long past time that my dad and I chatted anyway..." he added before he huffed a sigh at the older woman before him.
