Mission: Mission 111: The Sorrows of Night
Location: Various Locations - Starbase Vanguard
Timeline: 1040Hrs - October 24th, 2393

Solusar-Yamaguchi sat down in one of the chairs while the large Vrykul female did likewise. "Hello Kam. I came to see you because... Well, I need your help." she explained.

"Oh, so... Nothing bad is happening to Elizabeth?" Solusar-Yamaguchi asked quietly.

"Not as such, no," Fordring answered. "Other than my relieving her of duty for two weeks... She needs the time off... and so does her unborn baby..." the Vrykul explained as she regarded the younger man before her. "I'm here to solicit your assistance with the matter at hand," she commented. "I need to keep Beth cool, calm and collected. But having you as my foe does not accomplish this..."

Solusar-Yamaguchi regarded the much larger female in silence for a moment. "How is she doing these days?"

"She's exhausted, she's suffering from hypertension and chronic-fatigue syndrome brought on from being hypervigilant over her pregnancy," Fordring responded. "She's not getting a break as this effort has cost her far too much... and I suspect that it'll continue until your child is born..."

Solusar-Yamaguchi breathed out and then back in again, slowly as he regarded the woman before him. "What is it that you require from me..."

"Mostly I'm here to inform you of recent events... I'm worried about her, Kam." Fordring answered. "So I'm making several major changes... I've relieved her of duty for two weeks... She needs the time off and... So do you. I've secured some time off for you... The Commander was kind enough to permit my request for you to have some time off to spend with your spouse... May I recommend you ask someone to watch Robert while you two attend to Elizabeth's concerns?"

"I'll ask Elizabeth's grandmother, she loves watching Robert for us... I don't think she'll mind too much..." Solusar-Yamaguchi answered quietly. "But I'm worried about Beth too..."

"I'll ask you for one other thing... I don't want Beth making a rash choice... Leaving medicine and heading into command. Nobody will take her as the First officer on any ship at the present time..." Fordring commented. "I'd like for her to close her eyes, count to twenty and go from there..."

Solusar-Yamaguchi nodded his head. "I can keep her calm... and ensure she doesn't do or say anything stupid," he responded. "She was talking about it but I was unsure if it was a serious career move or just to get away from the unrelenting stress..." Solusar-Yamaguchi suddenly glared at her. "You people need to fix this endless shit with my wife, stop shitting on her or so fucking help me-" Kam lost his temper as Fordring had been expecting and as she had feared. There were few things as bad as a spouse avenging his wife, especially when she had been wronged.

"Calm yourself Kameron. I've been working on Elizabeth's issues since the start of her little personal war with these demons that have been plaguing her... As I said earlier, I have taken steps to ensure she does not face this again." Fordring tried to calm him but she could see that she had only placated him for maybe another twenty seconds at most.

"I'm listening..." Kameron growled at her. He was annoyed with the medical staff working his wife to within an inch of her life, every single day, and while she was dealing with two separate pregnancies, her first had more or less been drama-free but this one was something else. Endless drama and stress to the point that Kam thought that Elizabeth would either abort or miscarry from the stress, he had been aged more in the last few months than he had in the last few years and it was endless. Both for him and for Elizabeth as well.

Fordring knew she had seconds before he melted down at her or worse, he hauled off and smashed his fist into her. While she did not believe he would go so far as to outright assault her but she would not resist if he did, she could understand his outrage "Now before you lose your temper, Kam... Hear me out..." Fordring started before she paused to catch her breath. "I am going to be requesting three more personel to replace Elizabeth more or less full time... Elizabeth has been relieved... or should I say rewarded for her endless slaving away for others..."

Kameron paused, he had no idea what to expect so he nodded his head while he waited for the massive female before him to explain herself.

Fordring proceeded, as part of her was waiting for Kameron to meltdown at her. "Captain Dvald, Commander Sokanon and I are all in full agreement, this issue with Elizabeth can't be permitted to continue. The posting of Chief Veterinarian will be filled by an experienced medical officer and a commendation for her work efforts for us will be forthcoming. Her efforts on our behalf speak for themselves..."

"But she was relieved..." Kam answered. "Won't that be a mark against her?"

"That won't go against her. Kam... Your spouse has done amazing service on our behalf and if had my way, I'd promote her to Commander for it. Captain Dvald mentioned it to me, as did Commander Sokanon. She has a lot of friends in Vanguard's medical department... and I aim to see that she sees that..."

Kameron sat back in his chair. "Alright... I will talk to my skipper and see if he's willing to give me some time off."

Fardreamer suddenly poked his head into the office. "Someone called for me?" he inquired as he sat down across from his star officer. "Kam... Doctor Fordring and I already had this chat, I waited outside as I felt it best for you two to talk alone... Your spouse needs you a heck of a lot more than I do. Besides, we're about four months ahead of our original schedule, thanks mostly to you."

"It been a rough road that's brought me here..." Solusar-Yamaguchi admitted. "I don't know what to do..." he sighed. "I don't know what I'm supposed to say anymore..." Solusar-Yamaguchi felt his heart giving out, he couldn't handle it anymore, he was tired of being the strong one, standing resolute in the face of the storm.

"Then may I say that you should head home, while you might not have the answers, go home, hug your wife close and tell her that you love her... Maybe you two can find some clarity together." Fardreamer commented quietly. "I know the guys will understand... Besides, it'll make some of them do something instead of always relying on you for everything Kam... You're the unsung workhorse of this department and you should have extra time off for it..."

"Thank you, sir." Solusar-Yamaguchi sighed softly.
