Mission:
Mission 110: Blue on Blue
Location: Various Locations - USS Stalingrad
Timeline: 1000Hrs - October 23rd, 2393
Almost thirty minutes later after the ambush, the doors to engineering opened and in strolled Commodore Marie Yamaguchi, she sported a gash on her face as she had taken a tumble on the bridge during the ambush. The scene here was organized chaos as every engineer that Katrina Sisko had available was rousted from whatever it was they had been doing and was now on duty working shifted because they were needed. "Katrina, how's it going down here?" Yamaguchi inquired of her Chief Engineer who looked harried and tired.
"Well, with over three hundred wounded, it's been slow going but I now have a full damage report for you skipper," Sisko answered. "Part of our issue is the Com system which is why you are standing before me," Sisko answered. "It's the largest issue... It's also what's slowing the repairs..."
"When is that going to get fixed?" Yamaguchi inquired.
"Like everything else, it's a work in progress..." Sisko answered. "I will have the com back online in about six hours... the hard issue will be preparing the damage to the hull and the superstructure. Queen Mary violated us real good skipper." she sighed softly. "The treachery is worse than we imagined," she added a moment later.
"So we got two Federation ships attacking Federation ships and Klingon colonies inside Klingon space," Yamaguchi answered. "All the pieces are not fitting together and I have no idea what the hell we're dealing with..."
"Tell me about it," Sisko answered quietly. "I should have the new armour fabricated within the hour and with a little luck, I should have everything ready to go inside of two days... But we need to see a shipyard to become fully effective again."
"So we need Starflewet help to deal with this... Is, what you're telling me." Yamaguchi answered quietly.
"Yessir, I'm sorry but we need more time and more power and I'm shy on both," Sisko explained. "I wish I had better news skipper." the engineer added.
"It's not your fault, keep at it." as the older woman sighed softly. "I'm going to tour the ship... I need the com system as soon as you can get it for me."
"Willdo," Sisko added, Yamaguchi turned and departed Engineering, her next stop was sickbay, which she reached a few minutes later, the internal damage wasn't bad as she had expected debris to litter the halls except most of it was confined to the outer hull areas of the Stalingrad due to the weapons strikes.
The double doors that marked the entrance to sickbay parted like the Reed sea to permit the passage of the Israelites on Earth several millennia ago. Yamaguchi went into the Sickbay as she found Commander Sohnaxx Dvald sending the last of the wounded to where they needed to be heading. "Bad timing Doctor?" Yamaguchi inquired.
"Nah, skipper. come on. Let's go into my office so you can have your way with me." Dvald grinned at the larger woman before her, before she turned and moved into her office, she sat down in one of the chairs in front of her desk, rather than behind her desk. Yamaguchi followed in silence. She knew that Dvald's sense of humour was a good sign that things were well in hand, that her staff was handing things as they should and nothing was falling apart, all good signs as to what Yamaguchi was hoping to find and hoping to hear.
"Well we have two hundred and ninth six wounded, most of those were minor, bruises, where people found themselves impacting walls," Dvald explained. "Mostly due to the shock of the weapons strikes more than anything else." she paused. "We have four dead... We were able to save just about everyone we can... and the four people I lost, I might be able to revive them later as none of them took any head trauma so... Using the Akurian medical technology they shared with us. I can revive them but it takes a little more time than I have at present."
"Fantastic work Doctor." Yamaguchi sighed softly, letting out the breath she did not realize that she was holding. "Fine work today..."
"Thanks," Dvald answered quietly. "Today is a good reminder of why I want out Marie... I can't do this anymore," she said quietly.
"I understand and I already stuck in your request last night. For what it's worth. I hope your next assignment is worthy and I hope your replacement is worthy too." Yamaguchi answered as she rose to her feet. "How long before everything is squared away down here...?"
"About three hours... Give or take..." Dvald answered. "Skipper... Is it true?" the small-framed Bolian asked. "Did our own ship fire on us...?"
"Yes..." Yamaguchi answered. "I almost can't believe it myself... The Queen Mary fired on us..." Yamaguchi paused as Dvald added. "Do me one thing?"
"Of course?" Yamaguchi suspected she knew that the Bolian wanted but she wanted to hear her out anyway.
"Save me a seat at this rat bastard's court marshall?" Dvald suddenly grinned, it was an unsettling look, one that was all hatred and tooth rather than happiness and mirth.
"Oh, I'll do more than that. I suspect you will be called to testify." Yamaguchi answered with a smile.
"Works for me," Dvald answered. "I imagine you got other stops to make dear so I don't want to hold you up too much longer." the older Bolian woman added as she rose to her feet. "As for me, I'm going to do my rounds and make sure that everyone is where they need to be heading," she added. Yamaguchi took the unspoken hint as she likewise rose to her feet and with a smile, she departed the medical spaces, her next stop was the bridge.
