Commodore Marie Yamaguchi walked onto her bridge as she handed the PADD in her hand to her yeoman. "Take care of that for me please," she commented as she looked at the younger woman, who nodded back at the Commodore. "Yessir, consider the matter handled." as the two parted company, Yamaguchi went over to her command chair which her exec vacated as he stood up. "Good Morning skipper, everything is status quo."

Yamaguchi smiled, this was music to her ears as she liked hearing that everything was running as it should. "How did the weapons drill go?" she inquired, he produced a PADD. "Well, The beta shift was the best with a sixty-four percent reaction time, from the time I called the drill to the time Battlestations was manned and ready. It's not the best and I think we can do better..."

"I agree..." Yamaguchi answered. "Schedule several more surprise drills, several for each watch... I want this time improved..." she explained. Noros nodded his head. "Yessir."

"Alright then," Yamaguchi answered, meanwhile the turbolift doors opened and out came a tall, handsome-looking Cardassian male who held a PADD in his hands, he approached the woman who was his spouse and waited to be addressed. Noros turned and nodded to the man in question before moving off, Horus regarded the female before him, as he smiled at her. "Skipper. Commander Dvald sends her regards."

"Does she have nothing better for you to be doing Horus than serving as her errand man?," Yamaguchi asked her spouse, her tone was light but the notion was there that his efforts were wasted.

"I don't mind running errands when it's to come up here," Horus answered.

Marie paused, she took a moment to calm down as she was not impressed with Doctor Dvald. Horus caught the look on her face and he knew exactly what his spouse's issue was, it was the same issue that had been plaguing the crew for the last month, they had been out in the field without any time off for close to ninety days now and things were starting to get stupid as a result of this. Issues that could be resolved in one or two chats were now taking much longer to deal with and in some cases, were starting to affect the crew's morale.

"I know... I'm sorry." Yamaguchi answered quietly, Horus nodded in response. "It's okay."

"How is this okay?" Yamaguchi answered quietly. "How is me yelling at you, for doing your job because I can't hold it together okay?" she regarded her husband as she spoke.

"It's understandable. We've been out here for three months but the medical staff is in agreement, we need a break and that's our recommendation explaining it and why... In case command feels like fighting with you on the subject." the Cardassian explained.

"Thank you, Horus," Yamaguchi answered softly. "I'll get ahold of Admiral Walker and inform him of our issues... See what he has to say on the matter." she let out a soft sigh. "I think Dreamcrusher will be replacing us on the patrol of this area and then we can get a couple of weeks of leave and I can give you that beach party I promised." as she suddenly grinned at her spouse.

Horus grinned. "Oh, I'm already looking forward to it," he answered. "I recall what happened the last time."

"Mmmm..." as Horus handed his spouse the PADD in his hands. "I'll head on back to sickbay now." and with that, he took his leave. Yamaguchi retreated into the ready room, tapping her combadge as she went. "Yamaguchi to Saunders. Ryan. Do you have a moment?"

"Sure skipper, I'm between clients at the present time but I got a few minutes... What's up?" the older human's voice came over the com system.

"I'm hearing that the crew is stressed, tired, and frustrated... Is that your opinion?"

"Yes Captain, it is... It's also my humble opinion that this crew gets some time off and the sooner the better." came the explanation from her chief counsellor. Yamaguchi didn't like but then she didn't have to like it, but she did have to respect it. "Alright, I'll call Admiral Walker and see about an ETA for leave time for the crew."

"Thank you, Captain. I don't mean to be a pain on the matter but this crew needs time off more or less as soon as you can get it for us." Saunders answered.

"Understood. Thank you, Counselor." Yamaguchi answered. "Yamaguchi out." as she lightly tapped her combadge. "Bridge this is the Captain. Jet, could you contact Admiral Walker for me... Its abo-" was as far as she got before Lieutenant Zheng Jet interrupted her, which was not like him. "We're picking up a distress call Captian."

Yamaguchi sighed as she went back onto the bridge. "Report?"

"It's faint but it's steady, it's from a Klingon colony near the Somraw Anchorage... It's across the border in Klingon space." Zheng Jet looked confused as he regarded the display. "This can't be right..." he added.

"What is it?" Yamaguchi asked, noting that Zheng Jet was not a man to get confused easily or often. He lifted his eyes from his panel to the dark brown eyes of his commanding officer. "They say they are under attack by two Federation starships."

"What?" Noros asked softly.

"Helm... Lay in an intercept course and take us there... I wish to see this... for myself." Yamaguchi paused. "Best speed... and whenever you're ready helm. Let's hit the road." she paused as she sat down in her command chair. "Time till arrival?"

"One hour, six minutes at warp nine." Lieutenant Kell Stormrage answered from his seat at the conn.

"Activate the quantum slipstream drive." Yamaguchi paused. "Number one. Prepare this ship for battle."

Noros nodded. "Red alert!" he shouted, the lights dimmed as the ship's alarms began to wail as the Stalingrad was going off to war.
