Mission:
Mission 109: The Travelers Path
Location: Various Locations - Starbase Vanguard
Timeline: 1700Hrs - November 18th, 2393
Monique nodded her head. "Come on. This way." and with that, the two moved down the hallway, towards their destination which they reached a short time later. The two stopped at the large front desk as a young woman looked up at them. "Ladies, what can I do for you?"
"I'd like to get a DNA check done against Krista here," Monique commented. "She claims to be my twin and I want to remove the doubt," she explained.
"I'll page someone for you." the woman answered, as she tapped a display to send the request to any Doctor who was available to come to the front desk for the matter in hand. "Someone will be with you shortly if you'll take a seat over there..." Monique nodded and withdrew, her twin followed a moment later.
The large set of double doors opened a moment later. Lt Commander Calliope Pravdin-Burgoyne went over to the desk. "Hey, who needs me?" the young female smiled as she regarded the receptionist. "I have a case of two women with an identity issue. They both are right over there." she indicated the two in question to Pravdin.
"I will handle the matter. Thanks." Pravdin smiled before she moved over to the two women in question, they were relatively easy to see and find. "Ladies, I understand you have a matter you'd like to get resolved?. Please come with me and we'll get it seen to," and with that. Pravdin turned and walked away, the two ladies in question followed in silence.
The three women entered the doctor's office as Pravdin picked up her medkit. "Alright. So what seems to be the issue ladies?" she asked.
"We'd like a DNA check ran against each other... I claim to be her lost sibling and she doubts me..." Krista answered. "I'd like to settle the claim for good."
Pravdin raised an eyebrow. "let me guess, you came right out and dropped the heavy end of the hammer on her, with no warning, whatsoever.."
"Yes, that's exactly what she did," Monique answered in a quiet tone. "I want proof of her claim."
Pravdin sighed softly., she could see why this issue was getting out of hand, except she realized that this issue was already so far out of hand, that she didn't think she'd be able to resolve the matter at all. "Alright, it's easy enough to resolve." as she opened her tricorder. "I will need a DNA sample from you both," she commented lightly before producing two swabs, Monique opened her mouth before using it, Krista did likewise before both women handed them over to Pravdin who packaged both and then she turned to face the two women. "I recommend you two think long and hard about how you wish to have your relationship going forward, even if this does work... I'd recommend you two go somewhere quiet and get to know each other... Without issues... Or call your parents and ask them about this little drama..." and with that, Pravdin departed her office in silence.
She moved down the office to the DNA lab. "Hey Arch, you busy right now?" Pravdin addressed Lieutenant Leonard Archer.
"Not at the present time... What's up Calliope?" he inquired of the handsome female before him. "What can I do for you?"
"Run a comparison examination of these two against each other and then find out who both people's parents are..." Pravdin inquired. "I'm sorry but I need the results more or less right now."
Archie nodded. "That's easy enough to resolve. Stick around..." as he went to work on the results, it took a few minutes to come in. "Mmm..." he paused as he handed her a PADD. "They are twins... Same parents too..." he explained. "Sounds like someone screwed up somewhere..."
Pravdin regarded Archie with a measured look in her eyes. "Yes... I know." she then let out a soft sigh. "Thanks, Archie..." and with that, Pradvin returned too her office to find the two women in conversation. Pravdin sighed as she came in, and then she closed the door behind her. "Ladies... I got the results.. You are indeed related... You are full siblings... and you both share the same parents too."
Krista held her silence. Monique raised an eyebrow. "I think you and I need to have a chat with mom..."
"I think its years past time that I met my mother... My Biological mother I mean."
Pravdin regarded the second woman before her. "Who do you call mom?"
"Captain Leah Anderson, the skipper of the USS Fall of Berlin..." Monique answered with a nod of her head.
"What of you?" Pravdin inquired gently.
"My mother is named Shelle, a Caitian Main Coon female, old enough to be my great grandmother... But she still took me in and raised me. I never lacked for company... But that was only because nobody knew who I was on any level whatsoever."
Monique paused, as she realized that she knew next to nothing about her twin. "Where are you assigned.?"
"I'm assigned to the Starbase... Medical. So I'll be working in here." she explained. "I have no idea who I'll be working with or where I'll be assigned. I find that out tomorrow morning." Krista explained with a soft smile.
"I guess so... First I'm going to introduce you to your biological father... He didn't know... so go easy on him, he's hard a hard enough time processing the fact that I'm his daughter, and now he has you to handle as well."
Krista had no answers for this. "Alright, so I assume we are hearing to meet him now then?"
"Not anymore. We are going to be late... Mom is here on the Starbase for a couple of days..." Monique answered. "I think you should meet her first... Before you meet dad..." she paused. "I know it's going to be a lot for you, all at once."
"That's alright. I'm not used to being alone." Krista answered.
"Alright, then I guess our business here is concluded. Thank you, ladies, for not making this hard for anyone..." as she turned to Krista. "I will update your records for you."
"Thank you Doctor." and with that, the meeting was concluded.
